This is the best Waffle House we have been in..not only was it very clean but the cook Ryan really knows how to cook, the bacon, grits, eggs ,hashbrowns were perfect.. most of the other waffle houses we have been here the food was alright but usually floppy bacon, pale white peppered hash browns, runny grits all of which I hate.. the service Abby was delightful and so friendly..a good visit..we will be back

New to the area and having scoped out a few spots we opted to try out Dan's for a late B-fast early…read morelunch option in Silverhill. We had driven by Dan's in the past .. with the high reviews we wanted to put them on our bucket list. First things first, hours are bit unusual 10-3 but hey why not. We landed around 10:30 and the place was pretty quiet .. just another couple seated. First impressions were good, nice clean spot, 50's theme with like kind music. You order from the front register so we went about picking from their menu. A couple of things, one I noticed the cook was preparing off a couple gas like hot plates vs a griddle, a small concern initially. I opted for the Dinner B-fast eggs, hash browns pattie sausage and raisin toast. My partner went lunch focus with a Dinner burger & fries. The wait was short and our food arrived hot and ready to eat ! Here's the breakdown: Diner B-fast - a bit underwhelming to say the least. Eggs were cooked OK, the hashbrowns were a bit soggy and really greasy sad to say. The pattie sausage was thin and so salty it was hard to eat. The raisin toast was hard, dry and really crunchy. All in all - one of the less digestable b-fast plates since landing here 6 weeks ago. Diner Burger - our order taker missed the cheese we asked for so we ended up with a reg burger vs the cheese burger. The sandwich was good but came with a handful of seasoned fries which were OK but honestly hold the seasoning and just give the real deal. I must say our hopes and expectations were high based on past reviews and comments. Unfortunately this one crashed and burned. Now off the list - not a repeat for us sad to say.

Staff was friendly but no one greets you when you walk in. All tables were full when we got there…read moreso we just sat down in the waiting area, wait staff just asked who was next when a table came up cleaned. They seemed like they wanted to rush us and definitely understaffed. A table actually walked out and canceled their order while we were there as they said it was as terrible diner not ugly. They just didn't get a good vibe and I agree with it. Waiter was super nice though and doing his best. Food was good. Not sure if I'll go back or not. I think their prices are right. Lunch menu looks good. Just hung up on trying again.

Some friends recommended it so we stopped by while in the area. We had a slight wait since there aren't many tables, which wasn't a problem. I ordered the veggie omelette which comes with the home potatoes. It was wonderful. Personally, I think it could have used a bit of cracked pepper mixed in with the veggies but still great. My husband ordered the peach cobbler French toast which was good too. We got there a little later, as they close at noon. So they were sold out of the regular French toast bread. They offered it with wheat bread instead, which worked out well too. There was one lady managing all the tables who was very efficient. We will be back the next time we are in the area. I would recommend arriving by mid morning since they close at 12pm. If you are in the area, don't miss going to The Ugly Diner.

The rolls.... We heard about the rolls that were thrown at you and had to experience for ourselves…read more We were NOT disappointed! We had an absolute blast here. We had to wait about 15mins for a table which was fine bc it was dinner time and it's a popular spot. We sat down and it wasn't 2 mins when the Famous rolls came out. The young man who threw them was super nice and I swear he should be in the MLB, he's got an arm on him I tell ya. Honey caught his roll with no issues. I caught mine straight in the chest and it exploded. It looked a little worse for the wear but BOY WAS IT GOOD!!!! Our server was super friendly and got everything out to us quickly. There were various servers with fried okra, macaroni and tomato's, black eyed peas, and other amazing sides. My only complaint was that they wouldn't serve me from the kids menu. I had a medical procedure that doesn't allow for me to eat much and the server said she wasn't allowed to serve me from that menu. Aside from that, everything else was amazing and we had a blast. We loved it!!!

04/11/26 This was a…read morefun experience. We arrived a little after 1:30pm on a Saturday and waited about 30 minutes for a table for 2. Our waiter Holden promptly greeted us and brought us drinks. He gave us a few minutes to look over the menu and we finally decided on country fried steak. A gentleman came around with fried okra before our meals came out and it was delicious. This was our first time trying okra and it did not disappoint. Our meals came out pretty quickly and we sat waiting to have rolls "throwed" at us. My husband spotted the roll thrower, put up his hand, and had a roll "throwed" at him that he ended up partially catching with his hand and his chest. I was slow raising my hamd and had to wait for my roll. Surprisingly, I caught the roll. It was soft, but heavy. We then waited for the girl to come around with the apple butter and molasses. We each got a scoop of apple butter and proceeded to enjoy our rolls. We also had the fried potatoes with onions which was the best side second only to the rolls themselves. The sides with our entree - french fries, corn bread, peaches- were okay, but I could do without them. The mashed potatoes and gravy were a good pairing with the country fried steak. The real winners were the "throwed" rolls, friend potatoes with onions, and the okra. Holden was wonderful and attentive. He provided a box to take my leftovers, offered us togo drinks even though all we ordered was water, and went back and got me togo silverware so I could enjoy my leftovers in the car. I don't know if we would go out of our way to return, but it was a fun experience and we enjoyed most of what we ordered.
