It's a Waffle House people. Looks the same as all the others. Has the same menu. What sets certain Waffle Houses apart is the service and attention detail. This location gave me great service, thank you Jan, and my food was exactly what I asked for. The comfortable atmosphere and friendly chatter along with the good food served in a timely manner is what places this location on my 'repeat' list. We came here after leaving ihop since we waited over a half hour just for water. Initially upon arrival, we were informed that it would be a twenty minute wait. Since this was a last option we decided to wait it out. Once inside we were then informed that it would be carry out only. Then after placing the order was told that there would be an additional twenty percent free just for taking it as carry out. This wasn't our choice.... They ONLY were offering carry out service yet still charged a fee for something that was beyond our control. Seems to me like a pretty poor way to run a business to only offer one type of service then change the consumer for using said service - and sneakily at that. I didn't know there was a charge until I asked why there was a price discrepancy. I only decided to eat here tonight because there aren't many other options, but I WILL NOT be back after this. read more

I walked in with low expectations after all, this is the quintessential "greasy spoon". I was wrong in so many ways... The service was as good, if not better than, what I oftentimes receive in more expensive establishments. The food may not have been fine dining however, it was of high quality and filling. We usually go to Waffle House in Milford for breakfast on the weekend, but we were in Dayton this past weekend and stopped into this location. Employees were more concerned with to go orders than customers who came in to eat. By the time we got our food our eggs were cold and the cheese didn't melt. Waited ten minutes to get the sausage for our order after we received our other food. Plus, it was the most pitiful waffle I've ever seen. I understand everyone is short handed these days, but these seemed more like poor management. I truly hope it was a bad day and not every Sunday afternoon is like that. read more

I took my daughter there today for the first time. Everything was going fine until they got a big "to go" order in. Our steaks, bread, & eggs arrived Luke warm. We were still waiting on grits & waffles. We had to flag down the server to ask for them. By the time they got to the table the eggs & everything else was cold. She brought my daughter's waffle to the table in a "to go" container. By this tome, we were a little perturbed to say the least. I spoke with the server who seemed very busy & explained my dissatisfaction. She apologized. I told her that's fine but not enough. What are you planning on doing about it, I asked? She said that she could get the manager. We could see her speaking with the manager. She cane back, looked at my plate, (I had been eating the steak, some grits, & eggs mixture)... I'd been up since 5am & was STARVING.... so I knew it was coming..... She stated that the manager was too busy to come over & speak with me but was watching to see if I was eating the food (classic).... But she would Comp one meal since they were busy because of that big order that obviously took precedence over the customer's home decided to walk in & dine in for the experience. Believe it or not, I still left a small tip. But to the manager, I'd say.... get your act together! You're not management material. Also, the steak needs seasoning! read more

It has become a tradition to stop at the Waffle House on the way to Hamvention on one of the mornings before the show. So this year. as in the past, we stopped by and the joint was jumping. We had our traditional breakfast, this time with four of us rammed into a booth. And we had a great meal and fun with the friendly staff. They were all wearing Hamvention T shirts and I suspect that when this event occurs they have some of the busiest business days of the entire year. There must have been 20 people jammed behind the counter serving up waffles, omelets and grits and everyone was hooting and hollering and having a great time. I had a Fiesta omelet and it came with ham, cheese and veggies and those included Jalapenos. IT was great and the grits were great too. Waffle Houses are usually pretty good, lowest common denominator kind of places. But this particular one is a cut above. read more

It here, on lonely need more road that I chose to pop my Waffle House Cherry, one cold, morning @ 330am. I was taking my friend to the airport, and we were in much need of food. I was hoping that we could find a place to eat, we pulled of because I love Tim Horton's and there was a Waffle House right below it, so I figured why not. I walked in, and it was empty, sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by our kind server. I got a cup of coffee, which was darn good if I do say so my self. Egg sandwich, sausage, and hashbrowns. plain not scattered, or capped, or topped, or chunked. Just delicious and golden brown. I want more now It was fast It was tasty, it was cheap It's always open I'm not saying that its my favorite place on earth, but for a first experience, it was pretty darn good. Now I've grown up in a waffle house and I love everything about the old diner feels. It pleases me that this one one five minutes closer than the one I've regular'd for 15+ years now. Everything was perfect about this visit. Having frequented multiple locations over the years I can say this one shines most during slow hours. The cook knew exactly what he was doing today and the food came out identical as pictured on the menu. I will sometimes order unique modifications of popular dishes and that can sometimes throw off the execution.. Not today. When I showed up, the service was good, and that's why it got a second star. The food was meh; the potatoes were not fresh, the bacon was way over cooked on some pieces and nearly raw on others, and the waffles were limp and bland. I don't know what they are trying to do but if they are trying to sell good waffles and breakfast, they really need to rethink their recipes. read more

Came in late for some food after my 3rd shift. Blatantly got ignored. Had two other tables that came in after me get served before being even acknowledged. Waited around for about 20 mins before I just got up and left. The staff also couldn't control the volume on their "guests". It was loud and very unkept. I had a take-out order of a patty melt plate w/ everything on my hashbrowns except tomatoes & gravy... All I got was hashbrowns w/ 1 square of ham, 1 piece of cheese, 3 jalapeños, NO onions, 2 mushrooms, & NO chili. To top it all off, there were NO onions on the patty melt.
