Austin was…read moreincredibly helpful...he went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of and even suggested the bikes around the resort, which we didn't even know were an option. That ended up being one of our favorite parts of the stay! We also reserved a cabana, and it made the whole day feel even more relaxing and elevated. Nicole truly stood out...she was attentive, kind, and made sure our experience felt 5-star from start to finish. Even when it looked like she was handling the entire pool area on her own, she never missed a beat and still made us feel like a priority. The golf course was incredible...the first nine holes were especially scenic, and the bagpiper at sunset was such a unique and memorable touch. The food was great, the drinks were on point, and every staff member we encountered was kind and welcoming. Between the service, the atmosphere, and the little extras, it was an experience we'll definitely be back for!

Food at Brock's was delicious. Waitresses at Brock's were both great, I feel bad not recalling their names. Highly recommend the pork shank, add a side of grits to make it perfect. I see several reviews that don't match our experience. I can't wait to go back. Golf course was amazing, even with greens not being "ready" after winter. Highly recommend a visit.

She was efficient, checked up on us, kept our drinks full and even showed how considerate she is. I was having a hard time hearing her and as I apologized and told her I'm deaf in my left ear, she started approaching the table from the other side. I truly appreciated that kind and thoughtful gesture. The food was delicious as always.

You'll find breakfast cocktails, homemade biscuits, breakfast comfort food as well as flat screen T.V.s and friendly service rounding out your experience. Today I opted for the server recommended Freebird Benedict, $15, and I enjoyed their creative take on the classic Eggs Benedict. This creative breakfast entree features their biscuit- split with fried chicken, poached egg and topped with their chicken sausage gravy. Definitely a big breakfast and shareable! Loved the tender biscuit, the crunch of the fried chicken and the savory flavorful chicken sausage gravy! The side of seasoned Moon Dust potatoes were great, too. I look forward to returning and trying their French Toast, Pancakes or a plain, yummy biscuit!

I ordered the seafood pasta, and you could immediately tell the pasta was homemade. It was fresh, perfectly cooked, and the seafood was beautifully prepared. My daughter had the spaghetti, and my husband ordered the Waldorf salad, which was just as thoughtfully put together. Our waitress also recommended the hummus and house pickles, and I'm so glad we listened. Both were fresh, unique, and the perfect way to start the meal. From the food to the service, everything felt polished without being pretentious. It was one of those meals where every dish was executed with care and attention to detail. Overall, The Essential was such a pleasant surprise and proof that you can find five star dining experiences in the most unexpected places. If you're anywhere near Birmingham, this place is absolutely worth the stop.

I had the Cajun Omelette which was good but that biscuit was one of the best I've ever tasted. I'd go back for a dozen to take home if they sold them by the dozen. My wife had the Wakie-Wakie which came with Conecuh sausage which was delicious. I will absolutely be back when I'm there this spring.
