I have no words for the soup I only ate it bc I payed for it but it was the potato soup and I had to pay extra to make it loaded which is really dumb considering potato soup should come with those things. Anyhow I would've been content if it wasn't plain potatoes floating in milk water. The cheese was in a melted clumped up slimy ball. It took a lot to not gag just from the texture. My friend had gotten the cracked chicken spud and it in fact tasted like straight up dog food. I'm 90% sure they just dumped of those little canned chickens that people store in bunkers, sprinkled some cheese on it and called it a day. I'm normally not one to leave reviews but I'm very disappointed I spent $15 on this. If you don't listen and choose to eat here at least don't eat inside unless your a fan of their overuse of tj maxx and hobby lobby decor and you like the feeling of being watched. um cute mr potato heads tho!!

I took my mother to Hankerin on a Sunday afternoon and was sorely disappointed. Upon entering the…read morerestaurant, I immediately experienced an allergic reaction to the overwhelming stench of Fabuloso cleaner. Restaurants, especially seafood restaurants, should not smell like roadside public restrooms. In a hurry, we decided to order takeout and hoped the stench was a fluke. It was not. I ordered the shrimp basket with fried okra and coleslaw. My mother ordered the chicken po'boy. Both meals were inedible (even the dogs didn't want it). The shrimp were fried to oblivion. They were chewy and flavorless, except for the taste of old cooking oil and freezer burn. The okra was soggy and cold, and the coleslaw was hot, wilted, and completely flavorless. The chicken tasted old, like it had been sitting around for a while. The fries tasted as if they had been taken from the freezer and fried half-way. They were cold and grainy. We waited 15 minutes for this obviously not-fresh fare, while employees made a show of riding a mini bicycle around the parking lot, oblivious to the patrons inside. I will not ever eat at this restaurant again, and strongly urge others to stay away.

I had one of their Wednesday Hot Dog Specials - The Chili Dog and it didn't disappoint. It came with fries and I added a Pepsi to round out the order. I left full and couldn't even finish my meal. The price was great given the quantity of food that they provide. The ambiance of the restaurant is that of a neighborhood grill & restaurant in a South Carolina small town. Everyone seemed to know everyone else, but the restaurant treats non-locals with the same respectful hospitality. It's not an upscale Snoddy restaurant, but it's also not a "dive". The atmosphere shows the owners support of their community with many local high school football jerseys and other items framed on the walls from former local greats. The bar area has large screen TVs to show the next great sporting event that you want to watch with your friends. It's much like a small town "Cheers". I definitely recommend The Wiz and look forward to my next visit.
