two waffles with chocolate drizzle on them
    Clare C.

Was smelling these waffles the whole time I was skiing and had to get one! They smell so good. A waffle with chocolate drizzle and a hot chocolate was ~$10. The waffles were more filling than I thought and I really liked the drizzle. The waffles were warm and crispy and delicious! I thought the price was a little high for the amount of waffle. I also wish there were more toppings to put on my waffle. Workers were nice and fast with orders. But a nice little snack while skiing! Yum!

Great slopeside snack! We got one powdered sugar waffle with chocolate syrup and shared it. Definitely a fun switch up from other quick slopeside options.

The one thing I get every snowshoe trip... is a waffle with powdered sugar and chocolate. When they're fresh?! Game changer.

First, the smell is delicious as you walk or ski by. Second, the taste is delicious as you devour the waffle. Third, it was a great idea to put a waffle cabin at the top of a ski slope. You order a sugar waffle and for $1 more you can add a chocolate drizzle. They also have powdered sugar or cinnamon if you would like to add. They sell coffee, water and a few other drinks. They have a couple benches and Adirondack chairs for relaxing. The customer service was great and this made for an enjoyable break from skiing. They open at 9:00 am (same time as the lifts open).

Dessert waffles... who could ask for more?! We have wanted a waffle from here for a long time, but the lines during ski season are long! We finally got waffles here this summer, when the line is short and options like "Ice cream waffle sandwich" are available. And it did not disappoint! Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Warm and delicious. The chocolate drizzle is the way to go -- it stays on the warm waffle for a perfect bite! Don't pass up this little gem on the mountain. It's the best $4.50 and one million calories EVER.

If you're skiing, stop in for a hot fresh waffle. Our family bought these three days in a row while at snowshoe. The cost is $6 plus another $1 for chocolate sauce on top, which my kids wanted every time, $21 spent there three days in a row. It was yummy though.

Iconic. Can't come to Snowshoe and not stop by the Waffle Cabin. A warm waffle really hits the spot when you're freezing night riding at silver creek!

It's exactly as advertised- a little cabin selling delicious (warm!) waffles. What more could you want when it's cold outside?

The chocolate waffles were great; overpriced ($7) but that's normal for here. I would recommend.

The concept is simple but well executed: locally sourced Appalachian ingredients, seasonal menus, and careful preparation. In an area where "upscale" dining often leans heavily on pricing instead of execution, Appalachia Kitchen focuses on what actually matters--quality, balance, and consistency. Highlights included: * A perfectly cooked filet paired with root vegetables and a rich, restrained sauce * Thoughtful plating without unnecessary theatrics * A wine list that complements the menu instead of competing with it * Attentive service that feels professional but relaxed One standout moment: the staff happily accommodated a custom French press paired with vanilla gelato and chocolate chips--a small detail, but one that shows how much pride they take in the guest experience. Snowshoe attracts visitors from across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast, and for many, this will be the memorable meal of their trip. If you're deciding where to spend your money for a special dinner, this is the restaurant that delivers on both quality and value. Appalachia Kitchen sets the benchmark for what higher-end dining in Snowshoe should be.

Foxfire Grill - Snowshoe, WV…read more Visited in August with family and our dog while in Snowshoe, WV. Foxfire has a dog-friendly outdoor patio, which was a big plus. The setting is lovely -- Snowshoe Plaza had a car show that day, and the surrounding area is worth exploring. In winter this is a ski hub, but in summer it's still a great spot to visit. We waited about 20 minutes for a table, and the food took at least 30 minutes to arrive. I ordered the full rack of baby back ribs with baked beans and sweet potato fries (sharing with someone else). The good: The baked beans were fantastic, and the sweet potato fries were some of the best I've ever had. Most of the food tasted great overall. The bad: The ribs were completely blackened and burnt throughout -- not just a little char, but fully charred. I've attached a photo for reference. Burnt food not only ruins the flavor, but it's a sign of poor execution and attention to detail, and over time it can be unhealthy. Overall, the location is great, the service was decent, and most of the food was solid. Unfortunately, the ribs knocked this experience down for me -- enough to take off two stars. Hopefully next time the kitchen cleans up their act. Rating: (3/5) Last visited: August 2025

I had the pulled pork sandwich and fries, and it really hit the spot. Portions are generous and the flavors are satisfying, especially when you're craving something hearty and warm. It can get pretty busy, especially during peak times, so expect a bit of a wait and slower service. That said, the staff is usually friendly, and once you're seated. If you can grab a seat by the window, the village view at night is a nice bonus.
