Pulled pork sandwich and homemade macaroni salad which was amazing
Connor T.

Great food and atmosphere!!! Stopped here as we had business in Green Bank and this was the first restaurant to appear when we searched for food. Staff were super friendly and quick, the vibes were great especially if you can get there when the trains are running. Highly recommend if you're in the area! Very affordable pricing too!!

Biscuits and gravy (tasted way better than it looked!)

While staying in Cass over a weekend, we are at Shay's (formerly The Last Run) for dinner and for breakfast. Granted, restaurant options in or near Cass are limited, to say the least, but we would eat there again. The food was nothing special, which is to be expected in a more remote, sparsely populated area, but the prices are great--like pre-pandemic prices. Nothing we ordered was unpalatable, although I wouldn't recommend the pulled pork baked potato, which featured nacho cheese sauce and overly sweet pulled pork that was obviously prepackaged. The sandwiches and burgers are a better bet, and the wings and appetizers were decent too. Breakfast was overall much tastier, so it's a good place to stop in for a home style breakfast before a train ride if that's why you're visiting Cass. The service was quick and friendly, and the ambiance is unique.

Chicken tenders and fries

This place is conveniently located where you wait to board the Cass Railroad. We stopped by after our long drive up. The burger was good and honestly I reaalllyyy enjoyed the chicken tenders! You have to order fries separate and for us 1 order to share would've been enough. Service was good but it took awhile to get our check so we just went to the counter, this also meant we didn't get refills on our drinks. Not a bad spot for some food before or after your train ride, but I wouldn't go out of your way to come here

a dirty plate of food

Great Tasting food Waitress was attentive and kind The gift shop and the restaurant made me feel like I was mining coal all day and came in for a good lunch break I'm pretty sure I met Gail Lewis

The special and a side of pork

Going back home from a successful trip to snowshoe and my family and I were looking for a quick snack shop when we stumbled across shays. The last run is connected to a cute gift shop (called shays) with the coolest games, candies, and the nicest staff. When we sat down for our meal in The Last Run, our server took care of us very quickly with constant check-ins. The food was delicious. I highly recommend stopping here for a quick bite!!

Good food reasonably priced. Ver good breakfast and great sandwiches. Only wish they used real plates and silverware.

Good home cooking. Despite the crowd, service was good the food was delicious and the prices aren't bad. What more could you ask for!

Two stars for the service, but the food reminds me of the cafeteria from grade school 30 years ago.

I love a good local coffee shop and this small town really only has this during off season…read more We walked here from the Omni to explore and have a couple snacks and the inside is cute and welcoming. I love that they have a mug club in the back - such a cute idea for locals. The menu is pretty large with tons of coffee drinks and breakfast, lunch and other items on it. We went with and iced coffee and pastry to tide us over until lunch since we were also visiting the baths in the afternoon. Coffee was good - menu items are basic sandwiches and such. I saw a chicken salad and a few other things that would be nice for after a hike or some activities at the hotel. Prices are fair and much better than at the resort. A great addition to the town! If we're ever back visiting - we will be sure to stop in.

Small little cafe on Main Street. We decided to eat breakfast here versus the resort before…read moreleaving. Cute little place with some local items for sale. They serve a quiche of the day, a few pastries and breakfast sandwiches. They also have a lunch menu and ice cream. I got a breakfast sandwich on sourdough with sausage and cheddar cheese and a caffe mocha. The sandwich was good. Nothing made it really stand out but it was good. Hubby got a croissant sandwich and a piece of coffee cake which he liked. The mocha was very tasty. Next time I will definitely try their quiche of the day.
