Went here for lunch in between skiing. This had some great pizza! The buffalo was delicious. I love blue cheese and you can definitely taste the blue cheese in this. Setting: Located at Snowshoe this was one of the food establishments that we kept coming back to. The restaurant is located next to the pizzeria. Climbing up rickety stairs lands you in a nice open restaurant with good views. Plenty of TV's. The parking situation is atrocious. There is not parking lot or spaces, and everything is reserved for people staying at the nearby residences. Service: Service was Ok. Often times the waiters / waitresses are on there own covering the entire dinning room. They where accommodating to families with children. The time for ordering to receiving food sometimes took a while even when the restaurant wasn't busy. Food: The food was better than average and definitely some of the better food we had in snowshoe. Therefore we did come back twice. The chili was tasty and the salads where large (but chicken was flavorless and tough) . Pizza was pretty good too. This was an great lunch we had while skiing at Snowshoe. Probably some of the best quality food. We all had there hot chocolate which was the best we had on the mountain. Actually came back on Christmas day just for that again to warm up. Food wise we had the Chicken sandwich and there Cobb salad. Both were really good. French dip was also really good. We also had the chili cheese fries as a starter. Service was great and food came out really quickly. We where able to sit by a window which was amazing as you could see skiers coming by. Tuque's is one of the best restaurants in Snowshoe may have had the best burger and fries there in my entire life! The waiter said the fries are cooked in peanut oil which must make a difference. I thought it strange they curtly replied "we don't do custom temperatures" when I had asked for medium but guess that is a standard response for liability reasons. Spent last weekend in Snowshoe, and ate numerous times at Tuques during our stay. By far our favorite spot on the mountain! Atmosphere has a great vibe, the staff is awesome, and the food and drinks are fabulous! The fan favorite was the poutine (ordered it every time we were there). Burgers and poached pear salad were delish. You can also order a pizza or two off the menu from the Pizza Slice downstairs. Highly recommend the prosciutto arugula and the margherita pizzas! We ate here twice this week while in town for the UCI Downhill Competition. Below are the Highs/Lows: Highs- Our waitress, Journey was a doll. She was so nice and attentive. She was kind and engaging. Unfortunately for her, this was her first week and she had little to no support and was thrown into the deep end during one of their busiest times of the year. Lows- (this list is quite a bit longer) Ordered a $70 bottle of Bordeaux, waited for 30 minutes for it to show up even though I asked about it twice. When it did show up, it was the wrong bottle of wine. My friend had to 20 minutes for his Manhattan and was rudely told to go back to my seat when he asked if he could take it from the bar back to my table. Me and my friend both ordered filet mignon. Mine was medium and cooked ok (although it was cooked more on one wide than the other) his was supposed to be medium rare. I looked like he was performing open-heart surgery when he cut into it. It was disgusting. Our carrots were cold my risotto had literally no flavor. It tasted like cold oatmeal. Both of our sons ordered the trout plate with pecans and potatoes but instead received fried fish sandwiches with french fries. Pretty bad experience for a $400 dinner read more

Tuque's was my favorite adult spot in the village. The service was top-notch, the drinks were great and the food was delicious. The music in the evening was great and gave you a bar feel. The dining room closes earlier than the bar does, so make sure to get there before 930 to place food orders and last call for drinks is 10:30. Tuque's is the bar that is open the latest in the village that I'm aware of. The hot toddy was fantastic!!! The carnivore pizza was delicious, and the pork belly bao buns were probably my favorite. read more

Best burger on the mountain. As far as the poutine fries go they were juicy and delicious but the burger was by far the best. It actually had seasoning on the bun as well which I enjoyed. Honestly unless you want pizzas larger than 12" just come here for food. read more

My family and I stayed at the corduroy next door and ate here two of the three nights we stayed....it is a lively atmosphere. There was live music both nights we were there. On the down side, if you have to wait for a table, the bar area is not very kid friendly. That said, the specialty drinks were good and not too outrageous for being one of the only places in a ski resort that you could get into without reservations. First night we had pizza's and they were all pretty good. Another night we had various typical bar food. We all enjoyed our meals but the favorite was the Brussel sprouts app. Service was slow but friendly. I would recommend for a nice casual night out, especially if you would like to have a couple adult beverages. read more

Great place for a late lunch when we were skiing at Snowshoe on 2/6/2024! Great food, we had calamari and a Pizza. The Calamari came with a salad with these really amazing Peruvian Drop sweet Peppers. Never had these peppers before and they really elevated our simple meal. Had to take a star away because their beer selection could have been better - a place like this should have more local craft beers in our opinion. We usually love this bar when we visit, but the service this time was awful. Our first server (red head, don't know her name) forgot multiple things and we sat there waiting. When she returned she said she was gone because she had to go smoke. We paid out, tipped her, moved to the bar with our full drinks. At the bar, the dark blonde bartender with the gray UVA never spoke to us after our drinks were empty BUT did pour out our full Bud Light and when we politely said that was our full beer, she said if we were nice she'd give us another. Well, we already paid for it so it was rude for her to pour it out and not ask if we were done. Awful service from disrespectful employees. We will absolutely NEVER be back and have told the people we're with to not go there. We love Tuques, but if going there means being disrespected and losing money from their employees then we'll go elsewhere from now on. Check who you hire because disrespecting your guests who are loyal to you is not the way to go about owning a business. read more

My husband and I recently had the best lunch at Tuque's after a morning skiing. We both agreed that the calamari and brussells were the best we've ever had. I also had a delicious champagne margarita. The atmosphere was fun, and our server Brandon was awesome. He was super attentive, knew the menu well, was engaging and just overall a great server. I've frequented here for a couple of winters and the food has become less of the reason which I return. The highlight of tonight's experience was T the poutine, or the venison soup, but our server Malcolm. His entire section had just been seated at the same time and he gave us the personal experience and attention which just made it, well way better. Probably enjoyed the food here the most on our ski trip to Snowshoe. The restaurant is located at the top of one of the ski lifts but we went for dinner when it was dark and therefore you did not have a view. Pretty small on the inside but it has a cool atmosphere. They were clearly understaffed and had only one waitress (with the bartenders trying to help by delivering food/drinks to the tables). Our waitress was booking it the entire time and working hard. They have a menu for Tuques (appetizers, sandwiches, pizzas) and a section of the menu from Appalachia Kitchen. We were disappointed to find out the menu portion from Appalachia Kitchen was unavailable at the time as this had all the nice entrees. We were still able to order food we enjoyed though. The Mac n Cheese balls were delicious. The scallop appetizer and bison sloppy joes were very good. They were unable to make me a side of vegetables (not listed on the menu but I requested). As for drinks, their version of the White Russian was delectable and tasted like a milkshake. They also had a champagne margarita. As we were leaving it was very packed around the bar and seemed like a local hangout. By the end they were also playing really loud music and seemed like they were trying to create a club atmosphere. read more

Great spot for food and drinks after a day on the slopes. This is part of a trio of restaurants under one roof. A Pizza Slice, the upscale Appalachia and the upstairs Tuque's Bar and Grill. The interesting thing is that Tuque's does not offer anything uniquely their own. Half of the menu comes from A Pizza Slice and the other half from Appalachia. We started with a Classic Poutine, the fries were great, the gravy was good, but the cheese curds were ice cold and never softened from the heat of the gravy and fries. But it was still pretty good. We then chose two pizzas, the Carnivore and the Spinaccoli. Both were fantastic and highly recommended. The Carnivore had pepperoni, sweet sausage and spicy sausage, and the slices of sausage were so tender, they were the highlight of the pie. The crust is also quite delicious, fresh and made in house. The Spinaccoli had spinach, broccoli, roasted tomatoes and EVOO. The roasted tomatoes were awesome, and there were big pieces of broccoli which made this a unique experience. The service wasn't great, but it was super friendly, we just had some long waits between visits. They were slammed busy and our server was actually a delivery driver doing his best. He made it fun, which made the lack of service okay when he did come around. We will definitely come back. read more

You're able to easily order pizza from The Pizza Slice downstairs. The staff are friendly, drinks are good. I'd recommend. ESPECIALLY if you're staying at the Corduroy. Even if they may seem short staffed, they went well above and beyond their way to make our experience worth while. read more
