Just got back from this place tonight and the service was horrid. The bartenders here are extremely rude. If you work in the service industry this is unacceptable and I will never be back here. Just from the service alone has turned me away from going back to snowshoe in general. The older bald gentleman who was helping was extremely unprofessional and rude and acted like he had a point to prove. If you are ever in snowshoe DO NOT GO TO HOOTS. And if management reads this I would seriously consider finding new help. read more

We arrived at Snowshoe around 3:30 and as usual, room's not yet ready.  So decided to have a late lunch at Hoots since it didn't seem busy and tables were well distanced.  This place always seems a bit dark and grungy despite the windows looking out onto the slopes.  Menu selection is pretty limited.  You order at the counter and they'll call your number when food is ready.  Wanted to have the burger but was advised that it'd take 20 minutes as the meat was frozen so needed time to thaw.  Didn't want to wait so opted for the fried chicken sandwich and chicken tenders with fries.  The tenders had very hard crust and were tasteless.  The sandwich was slightly better since there was some lettuce and mayonnaise which added a bit of flavor.  Overall quite underwhelming even without high expectations. read more

Nightlife only review: The good: -Bartenders are very nice and quick, it may take a minute to get a drink but they at least (for me) let me know they had not forgotten. -Vibe has a local skitown feel, everyone we met was really nice, no fights, just everyone having a good time. The Bad: -Beer was $8 for basic, little high but whatever -Saturday had a $10 cover for absolutely no reason, I guess Titos was there but it was no different than the night before. Charged $10 because they could but didn't provide anything extra. -Hours are weird, nobody really knows the hours, lights come on anywhere from 11-1145 and your being thrown out (nicely lol) We went here twice both Friday and Saturday, and skipped the other bars around the area because it was fun experience read more

Saw the girl w ponytail (in the back preparing food) licking her fingers several times while preparing food while we waited. Burgers had no flavor likely frozen. Paid $36 for 2 burgers which is overpriced. Most important: This kind of lack of hygiene is completely unacceptable. Never washed her hands, no gloves. Disgusting. I would have cancelled my order but we were starving. Will never go here again. She should know to wash her hands and keep them out of her mouth if she's handling food. Gross!! read more

The smash burger was a smash HIT!! The chicken sandwich was great too! Would return!

18 bucks for a burger with fries and fountain drink. Burger was cafeteria quality and cold. Could have been so much better had the sautéed onions not been ice cold. The fries were stale and barely took temperature (not sure how you screw up fries). The only redeeming qualities is the convenience being slopeside and decent dining area to sit and relax. If you're looking for a big portion to fill you up after skiing all day this is not the place. read more

Great place to warm up and have a nice cup of machine made hot chocolate. Anything else, forget it. Hoot's could be the envy of the resort. It is located just feet from the top of the Soaring Eagle high-speed quad. It has superb views that extend all the way to Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. Still, the place is a disappointment. Greasy sandwiches, canned soups and insipid food. An attendant did tell me that contrary to popular belief, even their soups are made by a contractor, Cisco. Anything that is managed by Snowshoe Food & Beverage Division is mediocre. Other than for warming up, go to the main village and stop by Foxfire. Or if you want to splurge, Embers on the Soaring Eagle building. read more

Slopeside pub with TVs all along the bar. Some patio space for the brave that ends up being just another wall to lean your gear on (no skis/boards allowed inside). Water cooler tanks with disposable cups by the door to the main building/bathrooms. They call you up over the speakers when your order's ready, no real table service. Shoddy beer list compared to the other bars on the mountain, Yuengling is as good as it gets. Chicken tenders and fries were passable, but not even decent enough to order again. read more

I really expected this to be decent since it's right on the mountain and a quick lunch stop while on the slopes, but wow I was wrong. The food is pitiful and expensive. I can handle expensive, especially for the location, but it was just terrible. My husband had the burger and fries and I had the chicken sandwich and tater tots. My tater tots were cold and the chicken sandwich was the thin and not good at all. The $1 menu Wendy's/McDonald's chicken sandwich is much better and I wish I was joking... I literally was forcing it down. I didn't try the burger, but my husband said it wasn't very good. So then, I go to the bar to grab a couple beers. My husband gets a Miller Lite and she said $5. That's normal. He walks away and I'm looking to see if they had any local beers and I grab one from Timber Brewing? (something like that) and my total is $16 and some change?! For 2 beers! A $10 can beer is extreme in my opinion. AVOID AT ALL COSTS read more

Great place to relax grab a beer and some wings and take a break from boarding during the day. My bf and I were there yesterday had the wings and a burger they were both delicious! And cayman from Virginia gave great service and conversation real cool dude. We had visited hoots last time we were in town and sat at the bar with billy and received great service then too. So if your looking for a low key fun bar atmosphere this is a great place! We will be back next time we're in town. read more

Awesome place. I wouldn't be running here for a great meal, though this place was the BEST option for nightlife here. Has more of a local feel, NO douchebags - um hello "The Connection" ... Staff is super friendly, the DJ was super friendly, and the door guys on NYE charged us less than what was advertised. Which even at full price was still the cheapest option at Snowshoe. The bartender even busted out the shotski for us. Even though he really wasn't suppose to. All in all both nights we ventured out we headed here. Great little spot for drinks and friendly people. Grabbed a beer here with my boyfriend to take a break while skiing. Though I didn't expect much, I expected more than this, especially considering what we were paying to ski...and the prices at the bar. $4.50 for a Bud Light bottle that I waited at one end of the bar for literally 10 minutes for while the bartender talked to friends at the other end - I was within eyesight and was not acknowledged at ALL - and so finally I walked to the other end of the bar and stood directly in front of her. Like *literally* directly in front of her, probably 1 foot away from her. And still she talked to her friend for at least another minute or two. When she *finally* acknowledged me, she didn't say anything at all, and took her sweet time getting my beer and was very rude. It was one of the most awkward experiences I've had at a bar. I noticed several other patrons having to do the same thing I did, and I had to wait a really long time the next time I walked up too. Prices for food are also absolutely ridiculous, and tables sit dirty with trash for a long time after customers leave. Also, there was nowhere to recycle glass bottles so I was told to throw them in the trash. Yikes. read more

Hoots is a great 'neighborhood' bar for happy hour, breakfast, lunch, or night time entertainment. darts and pool tables too. Great staff - make sure you hang out with Zac, great bartender. You can't miss him. 6 foot 5 and a ginger beard. One of the most fun bartenders on the mountain. read more

This place is the last stop before heading down the mountain. Thinking it would be a good way to end our day we stopped. Way wrong choice! Bartenders, yes more than one, are rude and arrogant. The french fries were good though and the staff at that window were friendly. read more

I like this place. At The Top of the World. Good for day skiers. Also families. After a long day of skiing a cold beer and a burger was what I needed. Plenty of options on the menu and a couple of pool tables to shot around if you desired. The staff was awesome. TV's for the sporting ing events. Give it a try. read more

Ski in Ski Out Type of Bar- Hoots is a great place to hang 10, shoot pool, do a shooter, socialize with your favorite Jerry, or even take a quick break from shredding. Bartenders and staff are straight forward, responsive, and provide great overall service. Nightlife is usually popping with crunchy beats from DJ ShaunWhite. Food is above average for a bar, breakfast tends to be the most delicious. Would recommend A+! read more

Slope-side bar that has good food and is a great place to hang out. I often visit for drinks, pool, music, and dancing. Zac is the best bartender on the mountain and DJ Jason keeps the dance floor moving. If you're hungry I suggest the hot wings. They're not too spicy and have a good amount of meat on the bones. read more

I was VERY disappointed in this establishment....I always go along when my son and husband ski. I do not ski so i find places to hang out and read. It NORMALLY is a relaxing time for me but at hoot's first off they told me i was not allowed to have a Starbucks cup in their restaurant. (btw i saw others with starbucks cups as well!!!) I had been there about an hour when they told me that had to go, no biggie i was basically done anyhow. I then ordered a drink and french fries....I make sure that i buy stuff while hanging out at places while waiting for my family to join me. After finishing my FF, they then told me that i had to leave...two different women came up to me and said that i needed to leave to open up the table. I pointed out that just next to me were 2 open tables...not to mention seating at the adjoining bar. They told me i could go sit in a locker room but they needed my table i said i will order more food and that did not satisfy them. They then sent out the big guns..I also pointed out the vacant tables and explained that my family would not know where to find me because there is NO RECEPTION for cell phones there. she did not seem to care and told me that she needed to make money. I told her IF it gets busy i would leave the table. Eventually, I did move but spent my time and $$ elsewhere the next day. To top all of this off, they had a loud speaker that they would announce when an order was ready...the person on that should QUIT!!!! what a miserable person. All in all i WOULD NEVER suggest anyone go to this place.....don't stay long!!! read more

We have been going to Hoot's for years and wouldn't feel a trip to Snowshoe complete without some quality time spent at the bar. The food is good if you are looking for something quick...but this is not your place if you are looking for a gourmet 5 star dining experience. The apres ski and nightlife are great--some of the best on the mountain. Zac is our go-to bartender in the evenings; he is a ton of fun and pours some fabulous drinks. Monica and Gale have also taken great care of us. You will not find better bartenders anywhere on the mountain. 3 stars for food and 5 stars for the bar experience give Hoot's a 4 star rating. read more

We found the bloody's to be pretty good at this location. In spite of the attitude received from the one bartender (Melissa). In the many years we've been coming to this location, I continue to wonder why the patio has not had an all weather enclosure added. Invest in this location!!! Make it possible to cover, add some patio heaters!! You have a captive audience! Can you appreciate that all of us paid a premium to come here because we WANTED TO! Please don't slap the customer in the face with a bartender who has a chip on her shoulder, and an attitude of "This is what you get! " pay 15.00$ for a sandwich and don't ask for anything specific! Ok, my rant is over. I can also say that 2 other bartenders, who made the great bloody's, were very welcoming and made it easy to stay. I love the ski-vibe inside. Hoots Management, you can do better. Consider that your customers DO have a choice. Remember C.E.M. - Customer experience management. Your food and drinks don't stand on their own, create an atmosphere that helps us rest a little easier as we pay an inflated price for a basic beer. read more
