I went to have a recent crown re-done from a different dental office that had come loose twice already, and at the previous visits at AK they had recommended I redo that crown. I went in as a walk in customer that morning with the expectation that I would be there for a few hours. Once I went to the back, the doctor reviewed what she was going to do and let me know that since it was a busy day I might be there for 4-5 hours. Not being able to wait that long, I let them know I would have to reschedule. Before leaving, 2 dental assistants recemented the original crown that would fall off (and did a terrible job I might add) and then I was scooted away to the front office to reschedule and go over payment terms for the crown. I was presented an estimate that my insurance would pay about half and I would be responsible for half, which seemed decent. I signed the estimate and I set an appt for 2 weeks and left. On the way home, the recemented crown came off but I didn't worry too much since I had an appt coming up soon. In the meantime, while talking with a friend about all of this, he told me to double check my benefits because dental insurances don't cover a new crown if it has been less than 5 years. So I called AK dentistry to confirm, as my original complaint was that a crown I got recently (key word RECENT) keeps coming off. I'm very very glad I called because after speaking to the office they did confirm that my insurance would not cover the crown since it had been less than 5 years. Once knowing that, I canceled the appt because I couldn't pay the full amount of the new crown. Fast forward 3 months and I'm presented a bill for $276 for an office visit and crown recementing. I called to ask why I was being charged for an office visit that never materialized in anything since the wait was too long and for recementing a crown by assistants that didn't last 20 minutes. After a lot of arguing back and forth they reduced the bill by half but failed to understand my point. The lady told me have you ever been to a doctor office without paying anything? I responded well yes if the visit never happened? I was literally sat down for 10 minutes and advised that the visit would take 4-5 hours. That is not an "office visit". Also, I believe they knew full well that my insurance wouldn't cover the crown as they presented to me but didn't let me know until I asked them specifically of the 5 year rule in order to just have me get the work done. Totally disingenuous and if the person on the phone cared to provide excellent service as much they tout it things would have been different. I won't be going back and after recommending people to go there I won't do that anymore either.

Thanks to Dr. Pham and his entire staff for giving me a smile I'm proud of! Everyone was attentive and went the extra mile to make sure each visit went by smoothly. I visited once a month to service my braces, and I've never had any hiccups. Dr. Pham clearly loves what he does because he handles his patients' needs meticulously with care. Oh, and I love Janine! She is so so sweet and wonderful and and... I cannot say enough good things about her! She's gentle while expediting my needs, and has me out of there in no time. The office is clean and well organized and relaxed. The waiting room is spacious and is well lit with natural lighting, and I can't rave enough about how there are screens on the ceilings for the patients' viewing pleasure.

I scheduled an appointment at this office and took the only slot available later in the afternoon and urged the receptionist to please call me if an earlier slot opened up. I didn't expect to get a call before my appt. time but sure enough she did call me for an earlier time! I'm at the end of my clear correct journey and the office has been thorough following up with me about my trays which has been super helpful for a forgetful person as myself. The lady who put my bottom retainer in was amiable and explained what she would be doing and any discomforts I might feel. She put me at ease and did an excellent job! Would recommend this place to my family, friends, and all you yelpers.

But, suffice it to say, I had been in awful pain for over a month while two other dentists attempted to identify and fix the problem; so I was not the happiest of campers! But after meeting with Dr. Lopez, my deepest intuition told me he was the only one I would trust to help me out of my predicament. Due to my situation, there were many days of after-care which took place in the office. Each day I was there, Dr. Lopez was so kind and helpful, and during each step of the treatment, applied his vast knowledge in a wise and calm, reassuring manner. The ladies who assisted him were amazing... so kind without fail -- and obviously extremely capable in their field... they were like Dental Angels :-) ! I feel my case was handled by everyone there in the most positive and beneficial way, and because of Dr. Lopez, I soon believed I would be ready to leave on a 3-week vacation without any major problems. Dr. Lopez is also Medical Doctor, a Pharmacist, as well as an Oral Surgeon! If you have to undergo some kind of oral surgery, or something else, go to him -- I believe you will be so relieved that you did!

However, after meeting Dr. Lopez and talking to him he put all my concerns to rest. His bedside manners are second to none. After my consolidation, the ladies in the office called before my surgery to check in with me, to review my procedure again and make sure I didn't have any additional questions. The day of the surgery Dr. Lopez did everything he could to make sure I was comfortable. He came out behind the receptionist desk when I was in the waiting room and asked if I was ready and starting making jokes. He knew that I was terrified of needles like a little kid so he made me completely forget about the needle. I mentioned that laying back helps me when it comes to needles, so before he started the IV he reclined my seat all the way back in a full relax mood, he had one of his assistants hold my hand. (Don't laugh - I have a sever issue with needles) After the surgery no pain, no extra bleeding. I seriously was up Friday like nothing had happen - other then a small amount of swelling. My only suggestion is never ask someone who had their wisdom teeth pulled 30 years ago about the process, they will all give you horror stories.
