From the very first consultation with Dr. Mehr, I knew this was the right place for my daughter's orthodontic care. Both Dr. Mehr and Dr. Panos are knowledgeable, personable, and incredibly thorough. Both doctors take the time to explain each step of the treatment plan, show the progress being made, and make parents and patients feel informed and comfortable. Their genuine care and attention to detail are clear in every visit. While we did see Dr. Davoody once, and he was okay, he didn't quite have the same warmth or personal connection that Dr. Mehr and Dr. Panos consistently bring to their interactions. We came to this practice after a disappointing experience with another orthodontist in Houston. I had already paid in full, and my daughter was fitted with an expander that she wore for about a year and a half. I diligently followed the instructions, turning the key as instructed, and we attended all recommended check-ups. Then, one day, the expander--and the teeth it was attached to--came out entirely. I was concerned and immediately contacted an orthodontist friend in another state, who confirmed that this should not have happened. He advised us to see another orthodontist. Fortunately, the teeth that were extracted were baby teeth, but I didn't feel comfortable bringing my daughter back to that practice after that. That led us to Dr. Mehr at Greater Houston Orthodontics. From the front desk staff to the assistants and doctors, everyone has been kind, helpful, and supportive throughout the entire process. My daughter feels at ease during visits, and I feel confident that she is in excellent hands.

I am one who travels far when I trust a doctor/dentist because it is very very tedious for me to…read morerebuild that rapport again - I used to drive from Houston to Austin for the day just for a cleaning or to see my derm/OB/GYN, etc. I originally went to a dentist in Midtown when I moved back to Houston and he performed a filling, but postoperatively, I felt a sharp pain when I chewed on soft or crunchy foods. So, I went back to them for a reevaluation and they did not see anything and attempted to file my upper tooth down thinking that was the issue. The sharp pain persisted and I LOVE MY CRUNCHY FOODS, so I decided to take a day trip to my Austin dentist and they performed these tests to see if my teeth were misaligned and they took a look, but found nothing again. Unfortunately, the pain persisted, so I googled another provider and came upon Dr. Hassid. Him and his staff are so friendly, personable, and accommodating. Being that I had a recent XR with my dentist in Austin, he waived that fee for me as a new consult as well and just had my Austin dentist email my XR results over to his office so he can evaluate it - saved me tons of $$. He ended up fixing my filling and thanks to him, it's now pain free for me to consume my favorite food texture again.

They were extremely thorough with my cleaning, and talked to me in-depth about the condition of my teeth based on various x-rays and photos: what I'm doing right, what I could improve upon, what I might be at risk for, and more. The dentist also talked me through what to look for when buying toothpaste and mouthwash, and provided scientific explanations for which products work best. The new patient/scheduling process is very smooth, as well. I simply filled out the new patient form online, got an email the next day from the office to schedule my appointment (which worked great for me, since I often can't take phone calls during the day), and was ready to go. Overall, I'm very impressed with the organization of the office and the kindness and consideration of each individual I interacted with! Definitely recommend.

Everything seems fine until you have a complaint, at which point you either get ignored like the other reviewer or, in my case, asked to leave the office. Let me share my experience with them. I began by spending a significant amount on my invisible aligners. No one informed me that once I completed this process, I would need an additional set of easy invisible aligners for nighttime for the rest of my life! I was never told that the invisible aligners I paid thousands for, which i had 24/7 for a year, wouldn't actually straighten my teeth and that I would need a wire stick to my teeth for the rest of my life. Only a few months after installing the wire it broke. I called the clinic to report that the wire had broken just a few months into treatment and that I needed a replacement, I wasn't told I would have to pay $350 I to fix it. No one warned me about this fee, despite their claims to the contrary. (I told the lady that the call should be recorded and she can listen to it and see that nobody ever told me about the fee before arriving to the appointmen). Just to clarify, the only reason I had to get the wire instolled is that the original invisible aligners failed to straighten my teeth. After requesting to speak with the doctor several times, she finally came accusing me of being dramatic and loud (which I take fully responsibility for I did lost my patient in respond to the rudeness of the other workers) and asking me to leave the office, stating she wouldn't address the issue at that moment. I am extremely disappointed. It feels like they withhold crucial information from their patients to extract more money from them later, and once patients catch on to their methods, they avoid them. it sure feels like they take advantage on the fact that you've paid upfront and now you committed to the process unless you want to change a doctor and then you will pay again. I wish I would've read the one star review before. at this point I'm waiting for them to get back with me so I can get my wire fixed. I will keep you posted on what happened. As soon as I walk to this dentist office they took care of me and took me the same day. Dr Tummala was sooo wonderful! She immediately check me out and found what the problem was. I want to share my story because I want people to know that having a root canal is not the end of the world. She did a wonderful job and made sure I had 0 pain while she was doing the root canal.
