From the very first consultation with Dr. Mehr, I knew this was the right place for my daughter's orthodontic care. Both Dr. Mehr and Dr. Panos are knowledgeable, personable, and incredibly thorough. Both doctors take the time to explain each step of the treatment plan, show the progress being made, and make parents and patients feel informed and comfortable. Their genuine care and attention to detail are clear in every visit. While we did see Dr. Davoody once, and he was okay, he didn't quite have the same warmth or personal connection that Dr. Mehr and Dr. Panos consistently bring to their interactions. We came to this practice after a disappointing experience with another orthodontist in Houston. I had already paid in full, and my daughter was fitted with an expander that she wore for about a year and a half. I diligently followed the instructions, turning the key as instructed, and we attended all recommended check-ups. Then, one day, the expander--and the teeth it was attached to--came out entirely. I was concerned and immediately contacted an orthodontist friend in another state, who confirmed that this should not have happened. He advised us to see another orthodontist. Fortunately, the teeth that were extracted were baby teeth, but I didn't feel comfortable bringing my daughter back to that practice after that. That led us to Dr. Mehr at Greater Houston Orthodontics. From the front desk staff to the assistants and doctors, everyone has been kind, helpful, and supportive throughout the entire process. My daughter feels at ease during visits, and I feel confident that she is in excellent hands.

He's conservative in his approach, which I appreciate. He takes his time with his patients, and will explain the reasoning behind everything he's doing. The staff is also knowledgeable and seem on top of things - we never have to wait long for our appointment time when we get there. They'll also send your x rays to your dentist if you ask, which is nice if you don't have dental insurance/don't want extra x ray exposure.

I was miserable for several days and barely eating because of how much it hurt. I tried everything including putting wax and it still was painful. We called these wonderful people at the Houston orthopedic specialist and was able to walk in that same day and get my wire cut. They were so kind and helpful!!They not only cut the wire that was bothering me but they also cut some other long wires that had the potential of irritating my gums. Additionally, they tightened the braces and added stoppers to prevent the wire from shifting. All of this they did free of charge and with a beautiful big smile! The specialist helping me was so sweet and had such a helpful attitude I had no doubts of her work and she did an outstanding job checking to make sure everything was right and comfortable before sending us off. These specialist did their work with a great attitude, efficiency, and care especially for someone they didn't even know, from out of town. Thank you and I 100% recommend them!!!

I've met many of the patients and referred a lot of people to the office, everyone agrees he's the best guy in town! So I had to try for myself. I'm currently still in Ortho so I can't post any pictures yet. However the service I've received so far has been very pleasant! Family like style living room set up for waiting area. Complex cases with implants crowns are welcome, his opinion is very valuable. He listens attentively to your concerns and will address them all!

They treated me like I was just another payment they were receiving, rather than treating me like a real person. Out of all of the visits I had with them, I can only remember having a handful of appointments where someone was actually nice to me. O, and good luck if you call the emergency "on call" number - the mailbox is full! What's the point of giving out the emergency number is no one answers and you can't even leave a message? And the Dr. is never there, but they can't seem to do anything with out him - even just cementing a permanent retainer back in - which they charge you full price for, whether you've just finished treatment with them or not. They don't care about whether or not something is a big deal to you - to them, you're just another source of cash flow for the business. There are so many more orthos and dentists in Houston with better bed side manner - I wish someone would have warned me before I started my treatment there.

They're located off the Katy Freeway near IKEA, on the south side between Wirt and Antoine. The office shares a parking lot with Memorial Tacos, a dry cleaner, and some boutique shops. The parking lot is spacious, so parking is never an issue. Inside, everything is spotless and modern. The front desk staff are always kind, competent, and welcoming. Their hygienists are amazing -- especially Shauna, who is both personable and incredibly skilled. And both Dr. Tran and Dr. Nguyen are outstanding. They're highly competent, never push unnecessary services, and take the time to explain everything clearly. I've been coming here for years, and they've redone a few old fillings from decades ago with excellent results. I always leave feeling confident in their work -- and with a nice little goody bag! The advice they've given me over the years has actually worked, and my dental health is better because of it. I sincerely hope Dr. Tran and Dr. Nguyen keep practicing for a long time, because I'll be coming here for life -- and so will my kids when they're grown.

Dr. May is very short and got very frustrated and agitated and got so frustrated he just walked out once by me asking simple questions, while trying to understand. One treatment he was recommending as "Phase 1" when I asked about it and the purpose after I knew the cost he said, "lets just forget about it... not important". This is not a situation that if a doctor recommends something important and the cost is high and you don't understand and ask questions the Doctor should just say, "Lets forget about it". Why was it recommended as a "need" in the first place than?! Trying to take in all the information and cost is a lot for someone that has never dealt with any Orthodontist issues in the past. His "bed side Manner" and customer service was very BAD. His assistant was very nice and trying to help the best she could. Unless you are willing to just say, "yes" to whatever he says and not ask many questions. I would NOT recommend him.
