I found Waddle & Swaddle in the midst of my Tula hoarding and I cannot believe that I didn't find this place when I was due with my son last year. This store is basically everything I ordered off line at the same prices. They have so many wonderful things for baby and Mom. Aden & Anais, Tulas, Becos, 3 Sprouts, Eco Vessel, cloth diapers!, car seat safety classes, nursing support, play dates... it's Mommy central!! It is very granola and crunchy but it the very best way possible. I really wish I knew about W&S when I was pregnant or even when I fairly new to this Mom game. The staff were ultra-friendly and knowledgable. I want one in Orange County, but I will travel the 40 minutes to support this Mama and her lovely stores. If you're a new Mom, an experienced Mom, a friend of Mom, know someone with a baby, STOP IN!! You WILL find something for the baby or Mom in your life. I promise!! Great local store specializing in baby and toddler stuff. We went here for Small Business Saturday and the place was booming. Nevertheless, we got a lot of individualized attention. They have a lot of handmade items from local artists and designers. They also have a large selection of cloth diapers and several different baby carriers that you can't find in many places (wrapsody, babyhawk, etc.). It is extremely expensive. But the items are of extremely high quality and are made (and sold) with love. God, that sounds cheesy. There's also a semi-private nursing area with a couch and water for moms. The bathroom has a really cool changing table so you don't have to feel all awkward changing your kid on the floor or on one of those hard, cold pull-down tables. The owners are a mother and daughter, the latter of whom is also a Certified Lactation Consultant and holds private sessions in a separate room. The two women are a dynamic team, and are obviously very fond of serving the Poughkeepsie community with their unique store. read more

Some of the staff at the Poughkeepsie store are lovely and knowledgeable women. The owner however, Jenn, is not. If you would liked to be judged for *gasp* owning a crib or god-forbid feeding your baby, then I whole heartedly recommend you see her for her lactation services... though you might notice she is a counselor, not a lactation consultant--big big difference, my friends. My first contact with the Waddle & Swaddle was with the Rhinebeck location, which is the only place I will now give my business as it has a different owner. Waddle n Swaddle is more than just a store; it's a wonderful resource center. I do appreciate all the baby and maternity items that I can purchase there, especially the nursing bras since no one carries them in my size normally. But, beyond that, I love all the services offered! Jenn Sullivan, the owner, is a Lactation Consultant and I give her all the credit for my success nursing my second born. She runs a free support group and offers one on one private sessions as well. She has also been an amazing resource and has opened my eyes to so many things I wasn't aware of or just didn't know who to ask about...everything from delayed cord cutting at birth to more natural foods or supplements to help with various ailments. You can also find an abundance of other classes and services offered at her stores. She hosts all sorts of parenting and pregnancy groups and child/parent activity classes, run by some amazing and professional women. There is also a massage therapist with some magical fingers, an acupuncturist whom is happy to offer advice on herbs and foods that will help, along with her treatments, and most recently a chiropractor. Whether you need to learn about (or just purchase) cloth diapers and accessories, baby gear (from carseats and strollers to bibs and sippy cups) or teething and amber necklaces or safe creams and ointments for both child and Mother, you will find what you need here and you'll always find a friendly face, ready and willing to help you! read more

I went to waddle and swaddle for a lactation consultation a few weeks after my son was born. It was the best decision I made. Jenn was very helpful and supportive. Within the session she was able to teach me how to fade out the nipple shield I was using. She also set up my breast pump for when I was going back to work and helped me order the right size parts. Jenns supported continued even after the session. Jenn answered any questions I had which made my breastfeeding journey such a success! read more

Waddle and swaddle has a wonderful selection of cloth diapering supplies as well as baby carriers. They also carry many items for moms. I was in need of new nursing bras and the staff was very helpful. I would recommend this shop to any expectant mother and mom as a great resource for them and their little ones. read more

Im going to give this store a very poor rating. My husband and I went to the store in Poughkeepsie looking for walking shoe for our baby. I asked the lady if they had walking shoes and she told me no. I proceeded to say that your website said your store does. When the lady opens her mouth and stated oh you must be thinking of Waddle n Swaddle down on Raymond Ave. I said to the lady that that place was closed down and the sign stated they moved to your place here Arlington Ave. The lady stated no they are open down there but it just looks dark. At this point my husband and drove back down to Raymond Avenue and once again seen that the place was closed for business. I called back to Waddle n Swaddle Poughkeepsie where the same lady who redirected me to Raymond Ave. said that she was open and soon will be closing but she is here and gave direction back to the new store. Not knowing i was the women who just left her store. It's still amazing that racism still exist in this world and that the woman in waddle and swaddle's did not want to take business from African-Americans. read more
