It's also pretty big so you can take your time to walk around and see everything. It's a fun boutique all in all. My friend and I walked in and the girl behind the counter was on her phone the whole time looking down and did not look up once. Ok, that's fine we don't always need a greeting when walking into a shop. However, there are lots of delicate items and I would think you would want to check in to see if the customer has any questions or want to see any of the items that are placed inside the display cases that have to be opened. There was silence until my friend asked if one of the items were vermeil gold or gold plated. She had no idea and was a bit taken aback by the question but then got up and went behind to look at some sort of book. So we figured she must be looking it up. We walk around some more and about a good 20 mins later we come back and ask her did you find out and her response was, "what?" This time I asked the same question and she responds that she doesn't know and she was just looking up prices. We never asked about prices. It was just so weird and obviously apparent she did not care and was not the owner. All I kept thinking was only if the owner knew how she was handling their store. We did end up purchasing items because like I said earlier they have some wonderful items but the customer service, rather lack thereof was just ridiculous.

They offer lots of different styles and not everything is for everyone, the down side is that what I was asking for like the tatoo Bralette and the sandles in black size 9 and also the letter "A" necklace piece they didn't have my size or they didn't have in store, but I didn't leave empty handed, everything here is so easy to find and extremely organized and the staff is so sweet. We were tempted to drop major cash on some new oil pastels, but instead settled for some inexpensive but adorable wallet-sized animal figurines (a lamb for me and a dinosaur for the boyfriend - so cute!) I haven't seen a small business that sells art supplies outside of my beloved Blick's in Cambridge, MA, so it was cool to visit Manny's in New Paltz and not only support a local business, but support the arts as well.
