Bought a beautiful organic cotton, wool, and alpaca hoodie for travel to Japan in October! Also found cotton /wool blend socks for the same upcoming trip! Woo hoo! Scored! There was also a long line for ??? So we queued up to see why... By the time we got to the front of the line, the display cases were mostly empty of baked goods (it was a bakery kiosk!) but we shared one (1) chocolate pretzel croissant. Didn't look impressive, but looks can be deceiving! Wow! What a delicious, flavorful chocolate croissant, crispy on the outside and an explosion of chocolate in the moist interior! We should have bought more! Overall a great flea/farmers' market! Try it!

There are stacks of 33.3 rpm vinyl records; maybe you'll find something. It's ironic that most people got rid of them when it was almost impossible to find phonograph needles several decades ago. Remember Walk-man's MP-3's? Where are they now?! Stalls of clothing, semi-antiques, jewelry, old magazines and toys. There are some things that make you wonder; like old black and white, family photos in albums. Who were these people and how did they end up a flea market? There's no captions. Such as; uncle So & So at cousin X's wedding, or our first new car. It's a little sad.

We didn't get there super early around 11am so the parking was already crowded. No matter we were determined to make it work. We found a handicap parking area and since we have a placard we got a spot close to the vendors. Now I have been to flea markets before and tons of street fairs and this to me was one big street fair with some antique sellers in one area. Several vendors with their small businesses ideas like various foods were present as were inexpensive jewelry, clothing sellers throughout. After 2 hours of walking around seeing lines at every food stall/truck we had enough. So we head back to the car and you figure, ok people leaving We should be out within minutes. We were so wrong. It took more than 45 minutes to leave the location. No joke if there was a medical emergency not sure how they would get to you. It took longer to leave than to drive home. All I can say is we came, we saw and conquered the Flea Market. Once is enough.

On Route 28 in Arkville, NY, hubs and I have found great Magic antique+vintage pieces at a serious bargain. These folks have been here as long as I've been coming up to the Catskills when the entire field was FILLED elbow-deep with vendors. They've dwindled over the years and you can count the stalls with your hand now. Regardless, spend a few solid hours just browsing through what they have because you'll find a piece or two that'll catch your eye with the limited supply. One particular vendor name Lou- who we've purchased from- used to have loads of vintage pieces- and somehow sold commercial cleaning supplies (brand new) for cheap. Bizarre mix for an outdoor flea market- but it has worked. Another vendor who we met on a Sunday name Federika(sp?) sold me a $30 heavy-a-f*ck mirror that I couldn't pass up. I also couldn't haggle with that. For the poundage on it, I swore it was at least $75 or more. Oh, and bring cash- because these folks most likely, not have a Square.

We got here at 12 and many vendors were beginning to shut down tables and starting to pack. I would recommend getting here before 11 to properly get your moneys worth. I would return earlier. They have food trucks and tables in the front to eat. They offer wagons to wheel items throughout the field (note: they will need to be returned prior to the parking lot). I am no stranger to flea markets, but what I loved about this one was the friendliness of the vendors. All were welcoming and willing to strike up conversation, especially about music. Woodstock is a diverse and eclectic town but it's also famous for its Mower's Flea Market every Saturday and Sunday in a big grassy area. Hubs and I have always made it a point every time we come to Woodstock in the last 20 years, to stop here first (out of nostalgia) before making the drive down home. Quite honestly, we've scored several hand-made pieces and a vintage Dashiki hubs had found for me. Mower's is made up of several vendors all selling something different. Over the years though, the amount of vendors have dropped. And forget about COVID last year- because it didn't take place and was weird looking at vendor-less lot when we came to the area for a day trip in the Fall of '20. But alas, Mower's is back in business and we were delighted to see more vendors (almost) recently like we used to 20 years ago. You'll find antiques, memorabilia, some kitsch- the same way you'll find locally made products. The way I see it, it's a shopping haven for me. Just make sure you get here before they close for the season in November.

This flea market has furniture, books, tons and tons of dishes, cups, plates, toys, games, tools, sporting equipment etc When we finally re-do our kitchen we plan on shopping there and have all our kitchenware be antiques. I felt most items were reasonably priced. We left with a pair of beautiful candlesticks for $12.
