Antiques Barn in New Paltz, NY is the place to be for anyone who loves antiques+vintage items. This…read moreshop is made up of individual booths run by different vendors. As you're walking, you'll come across one booth selling vintage glassware, another selling antique kitchen tools, someone else has vintage books, wooden accessories and even furniture. Options are endless. What I like about Antiques B. is the price range. If you're looking for something small or big, there's a price point for everybody. I mean... you won't leave here empty-handed. I've actually purchased a few pieces that are all around my house. Booth owners keep their spaces clean and everything is clearly marked with prices so you're not guessing how much is what. Just to add: if you happen to purchase fragile items, the owners keep a pile of newspapers on hand so that you can wrap your glassware or delicate items before you leave. This place has the perfect mix of variety, nice prices and warmth- exactly what you want from an antique shop.

The attic contains a great deal of items for little ones, including doll furniture, a Red Ryder BB gun, books and furniture, including a vintage baby carriage. You know, the type with shock absorbers. There's also a lower level that contains a whole other trove of antique treasures, which you won't want to miss. The entire space is well laid out and easy to navigate, though I don't know that I'd want to bring children along. (We left ours at home.) Then again, what kid likes to look at old stuff?
