If you keep walk past the hallway, you will see a larger room with more mid size dresser and small furniture in the back room. The shop also has a lot of half moon/circle tables in various size. I picked up a small 2ft vase that has Japanese red glass mixed in with red metal. It was created by a local artist from Port Jovis, NJ. It's an awesome treasure hunt trip and definitely worth time to discover.

But then you ask yourself, well do I work at this furniture store? I have to ring myself up? Not like that gets me a discount or anything. So you go to the store, show yourself around. Pick a couch you like, and then have some guy kinda fumble around with your debit card, I guess? Not like he doesn't deserve a commission, but they could probably pay a lighter staff a more liveable wage to offer a better customer experience. I don't blame an apathetic sales associate who begrudgingly put on a suit before they came to work for doing less work than needed for a customer shelling out a few thousand dollars for some particle board and foam. Still, maybe the whole furniture store industry is just a board room of dorks with an Alibaba account and a marketing budget. Just seems dumb. Two stars could have easily been three if the guy could have knocked off some dumb car dealership style fees. It's just gonna be some free crap on Facebook marketplace in 15 years, sure it's a nice couch now... Anyways, two stars and that's only because it was a clean nice store.

Here it is 3pm. Your store is supposed to stay open until 7 pm. He actually approached us again to tell us he was closing the store because he was going to Lake George and had to meet someone. Never in my life have I been handled so poorly by a company as I have with Ashley Furniture. I…read moreordered a bed in March for delivery to be scheduled in May. Their sales person Yvonne was very charming at first to ensure she made a commission from my pockets. She said the bed was missing a piece on the headboard from the showroom but that it would be included once delivered. She kept in contact with me shortly after my purchase and told me to contact her to ensure I would have a seamless delivery, but once late April came Yvonne was nowhere to be found. After countless attempts to contact her she completely ghosted me, so customer service had to set up my delivery. This delivery was absolutely horrific. Nobody spoke English and the bed was missing the piece from my headboard and the slats for the mattress. I contacted customer service over and over again and they kept giving me the runaround saying that they could get the slats delivered to me 3 days later. As a person living with a lifelong hip injury, sleeping on the floor was not an option for 3 days after spending over 2k on a bed. So I had to take it upon myself and go to home depot to build the slats myself no thanks to Ashley. The nasty store manager Jessica barely apologized and reluctantly gave me a $400 refund just to call me about a week later, saying that since I actually have this incomplete headboard they are going to charge me back for what they refunded me. Not only this, but Jessica thought it was appropriate to try and talk down to me like I was a child instead of trying to hold onto some semblance of professionalism. I have never had such a nasty lackluster experience from a major store like Ashley. Today I'm left with regret for not staying with Raymour and Flanigan as I have for nearly 2 decades. Ashley's furniture in Middletown is one furniture store I would advise even my worse enemy to stay away from. The team of workers are purely money hungry and have no care about the efficacy of the brand they work for. While the manager is someone who should consider a different profession if she believes talking to people as poorly as she does is representative of Ashley as a corporation. In these attached photos you can see what this bed looks like online, versus what I received, and also the slats that I had to spend $200 in lumbar to build myself due to Ashley's poor service and handling. And no Jessica, my headboard was not built upside down, next time when you are speaking disgustingly to a customer try a different approach at justifying your atrocious attempts to take back your money from me. Don't call me, don't email me, send a corporate manager to try and get that $400 from me as you people have no form of a professional skill set. For any person reading this, just know this is the kind of mess and the kind of back and forth this company/store will put you in if you dare to make a purchase here.
