We love to visit Waddells for Saturday morning breakfast. Awesome breakfast burritos! They make a great Bloody Mary, I believe they are currently only $6. Service has been excellent. A fun little neighborhood spot that's neighboring some rural-ish communities (Waddell and Buckeye). Sadly, these neighborhoods are quickly disappearing with the gentrification of the far West Valley. I visited this establishment tonight and left extremely disappointed--not just because of another customer's behavior, but because of how management handled it. While in the men's restroom, three of us were talking about how hot it was because the air conditioning wasn't working. One man joked that it "felt like we were slaves." Another customer responded by saying, "I wish we never bought those monkeys," and then repeatedly used the N-word and other racist language. I immediately called him out, but rather than continue arguing, I went to find security. I had to locate the security guard because he wasn't outside the restroom. When I found him, he was standing next to the man who had made the racist comments, so I reported exactly what had happened. The response I received was shocking. I was told there was nothing they could do because they didn't personally hear the comments. I was also told the customer was "entitled to free speech" and that if I didn't like it, I could throw my drink away and leave. I then asked to speak with the owner. The security guard responded, "I'm the fucking owner. If you don't like it, throw your drink away and leave." No one was asking anyone to violate someone's free speech rights. I was reporting a customer who was openly using racist slurs and creating a hostile environment inside a private business. Instead of addressing the behavior or even taking my complaint seriously, I was dismissed and treated like I was the problem. Whether you agree with someone's politics or not, openly using racist language--including the N-word--and comparing Black people to "monkeys" should not be brushed off by management. The fact that the owner's response was to curse at me and tell me to leave speaks volumes about the culture of this establishment. I won't be returning, and I hope others know how complaints about racist behavior are handled here before deciding to spend their money at this business. read more

I love stopping by Waddell's on the weekends. It's a no-nonsense, easygoing bar that delivers exactly what you want: cheap drinks, solid bar food, and an atmosphere that makes you want to hang out longer than you planned. Outside, the vibe is perfect for the more active crowd, with horseshoes and cornhole always ready to go. Inside, there's plenty of room to move around, plus billiards and dart boards to keep things lively. The service is consistently great, and the restrooms are impressively clean for how busy this place gets. I try to make it out here at least every other week--it's one of my favorite spots to catch a game, relax, or just enjoy some good old-fashioned people-watching. I enjoyed this Western themed bar. The Fish Friday specials were excellent! Highly recommend getting the basket or the Tacos very large portions for the price. We have eaten here three times now. Don't expect 5 star dining here but that's one of the reasons we love coming here. The staff is always friendly when we come here. The portions are huge so be prepared to leave full. The reason for the 4 stars is our last visit the food was fair. My wife was craving the onions rings so we went for dinner. My wife ordered a chicken sandwich with onion rings and I ordered the French dip with fries. I'm not sure if this is an Arizona thing( we moved from the Midwest) but the chicken had a rubbery texture to it. My wife only ate two bites and she was done. This isn't the first place we have run into this so not sure if it's a vendor thing or just different chicken in Arizona. The onion rings as always were great. My French dip was small which was weird since I have ordered this before and it was burnt. Almost not edible but the aujus helped. We will not let this keep us from coming back. Came to see Carvin Jones a few weeks ago when I heard he was playing here. I've lived in Buckeye 22 years and I always thought this was just a little dive bar with a couple pool tables. Much to my surprise it's actually very decent size with a couple inside bars and large Dance floor and stage for live music. I found out they mainly have country there and some cover bands. That part is heart breaking because there's so much potential here and we need a good west side venue for some Rock Bands. Here's the deal - if you are a county line dancing dive bar kind of person - then this is your joint. I am neither of those things - well a good dive bar isn't something I would shy away from. The regulars are very territorial and make it a tad uncomfortable. The live music is great but it seems as though people know when to go so that they grab a table for the entire night. We have never been able to grab a table and watch the band. Food is ridiculously priced and the service is awful. Try getting someone to take your order #impossible I think they take pride and the place being sub par. This is now a go to for my husband and his guy friends - they don't care as much as I do. One of the coolest bars I've ever been. 6 stars please. I was recommended to come here from some people in downtown Phoenix. It was far out and I was unerring so I decided not to at first. I had some friends come into town as well, so we bit the bullet and ubered. I'm glad we did. We walked into a normal bar with a few pool tables, games and wide open space. I could hear around a corner music. I walked over and found another bar with a live country band playing packed. Do not purhase tickets to any events at this establishment. I purchased two tickets to Midget Mania Wrestling back in February. only to be told they oversild the show and we no longer has seats. The individual at the door was drunk. They basically said dint bother trying to get a refund from Eventbrite because they won't refund the money. They blamed the establishment for being greedy. On a Saturday bar-crawl Waddells was second on our go-to list, the bar was fun yet slow paced, perfect for a group gathering or date night. Our server Ally was a doll! She was courteous, chatty and never let our drinks get low. We had ate breakfast before we arrived but couldn't resist ordering a plate or medium wings and fried zucchini. The wings were crispy, tangy and smothered in hot sauce, perfect combination! Fried Zucchini were crispy, and paired with cold ranch. Wandered into this bomb ass place while djing a wedding in west phoenix area. We had a couple hrs to kill so we drove around to get a bite and luckily stumbled into this place! First off the vibe is cool as fuck. Straight up has that western feel, huge bar with dance area and outdoor with games and such. I'm sure they have some type of bull riding at night since I saw all the corrals out back. The bartender was super sweet and quick, I ordered the ribeye and it was literally one of the best I've had. I was super excited to come back after the place having new management. As a long time customer there I decided to have a night cap and came in. It feels much more clean and for a Wednesday quite a few people. We got to the inside bar and waited to place a drink. We waited. We waited and was ignored and waited again. Their were three staff behind the bar working. We were never welcomed, we were never approached nor served. One bartender came by to grab her tip money and walked off and never even asked if we wanted a beverage. After waiting for 15 minutes and someone coming in after us getting served, we walked out disappointed. We were so ready to spend money and have fun.
