I ordered the all white meat chicken and steak bowl and the teller told me that if I want white meat chicken I have to order extra steak ... I repeated that I did not want extra steak 3 times to her but she said , the cost for white meat is the same cost for extra steak which is an extra $6... I ended up paying for it .. so instead of a $10 bowl it was $17. I came back the next day and ordered the same thing and this tome instead of a female teller there was a male teller. He said the total was 11.83. I told him what had happened and he didn't care at all. He just laughed and said sometimes they don't know what they're doing. He didn't offer me a credit or anything. I placed an order online on 3/9 at 12:50p for pick-up at 1:15p. Got to this location at 1:20p and they had not receive the order and I never got an email. Fine, I'll just order and pay for a new meal. Get home at 1:35p and begin to eat, scanning through emails and I see the order went through at 1:30p. I call the location and speak with the assistant manager. He asked if I still wanted the order? Um, no! So he states he would cancel and refund the original order., should take about 48hours. Does WaBa categorize as a fast food chain? Should I not be Yelping this? Oh well. Now, I am extremely picky about my fast food. You wouldn't catch me dead in a McDonalds, no matter what. But WaBa is different. If you're in need of fast food but don't want to sacrifice your summer bod, WaBa grill is your place. My parents have been frequenting this location and have urged me to try it out. I try to eat fast food as little as possible, so I've been waiting for a day that I'm in a major rush. First of all, I'm SO SO SO happy to see tofu offered here! Seeing tofu offered at major chains makes me beyond happy. Vegan strides are being made, woohoo! So, needless to say, I get the tofu veggie bowl with avocado. The amount of food you receive is INSANE! I always dump it out on a plate when I bring it home, and JEEZ! You get about a cup and a half of rice, an entire block of tofu, and a handful of veggies. YUM! The tofu is DELICIOUS! I want to buy a smaller version of one of their grills, because it did a great job searing the exterior of the tofu! It didn't taste like fast food quality whatsoever. I've recently become a Waba lover... It's fresh, convenient, and healthy! Imagine that... Win-win I think. And they are pretty quick about making the salmon too which is nice. Took them about 10 minutes or so to whip it up. The only reason that I did not give this location 5 stars is because my slab of salmon was a little skimpy. Other Waba grills seem to have a meatier slab of salmon; thicker and larger in size. And also the salmon is usually cooked a little more like heaven at other locations. My salmon from here was good, but not great. So it's not the best Waba grill in town, they have some growing to do in order to win that title. Bit all in all it was a pleasant experience. I would come back to this Waba grill. The staff were very nice and helpful, which is always a plus! read more

Great food and friendly staff, although here's why I'm giving this a 1 star review. I arrived on Tuesday 11/20/18 during my lunch hour, ordered myself one chicken/veggie bowl, that's it. I paid with a $20 and exact change, (now this is where things went wrong) I gave the cashier (who was an older gentleman) my $20-something cents, he rang me up and the receipt states $12.00 in change. BUT!! He said, "seven dollars" as he handed me $7, how can that be? Was there an inflation in Waba bowls? Now....if he thought he can rip me off and save himself and the restaurant an extra $5...that's a very shady move, sir... to pull onto your customers...how can my change be $7, when the receipt and him knowing I handed over a $20. Just took my dad to pick up his food I ordered for him and my mom. They told him they didn't have his name as an order so I ended up going in for him. The girl behind the register has an attitude and was rude. I told her the name and she turned around all annoyed, grabbed started bagging it then mumbled something. I must say that Waba has really started to grow on me. Friendliness, cleanliness, and food freshness had always been a solid 5 stars. The taste of the food at first I would have rated it at a 3 Star. Better than Flame Broiler but not in Mos 2's league (OC teriyaki chain). My wife loves this place and after having it a few times I finally got past the comparing it to Mos 2 each time I had it. Their teriyaki goes well with the chicken and meat but their hot sauce is just overwhelming, not spicy just the overwhelming vinegary siracha taste. I replaced that with Tapatio as Mos 2 does and wow, what a difference. Ding ding ding. The meat is always very fresh and very soft. Portioning is very consistent for the meat and rice. At times, they can be a bit stingy with the salad for some reason. I generally substitute the fruit for veggies. read more

I stopped here on whim after getting gasoline across the street. I have never been to a WaBa Grill and let me tell you I think I have been missing out! This particular WaBa opened a few weeks ago and still has that fresh out of the box feel to it. The restaurant is clean and bright - very welcoming! I was immediately greeted at the counter and inquired about the chicken bowl as I have never tried WaBa before, I was shocked that he offered me a sample! While he was getting the sample another patron said it was much better than The Flamebroiler and after tasting the sample I must agree! I proceeded to order the teriyaki bowl and the manager asked me if I wanted avocado (I was like what avocado!?) I love me some avocado so thought what the hell lets do it!!! I was pleasantly surprised that at 10 minutes to closing they were so friendly and allowed me to stay and eat inside their establishment. A nice gal by the name of Bianca brought the order to me and must say the presentation blew me away! It tasted as good as it looked. It could have used more teriyaki sauce (but as I went up to get a refill noticed they had an area where you could get extra sauces). Bianca surprised me again by checking up on me and asking how I liked my meal. Very impressive for a quick service restaurant. I do wonder if they do this all the time or if it was because they were slow and almost closing. I'm sure I'll find out soon cuz I'll definitely be going back. A couple of things prevented me from giving five stars: first, is they offer Pepsi products and I am not a fan of Pepsi-but hey they have Dr Pepper. And secondly their parking lot is kind of a clusterfuck. Definitely not driver friendly. Went to Waba tonight about 5:30pm and although the normal hours are open until 9pm, the staff did not want to take our order because they had to make more rice and they were going to close soon. Talked to two different people at the counter and they both said the same thing. So left and found rice and food somewhere else. If there was an issue to cause them to close early, it should've been handled better. Hope the owner reads this review to follow up. read more

My husband went in on Thursday July 5th around 4pm. He ordered a steak bowl, once the order was done.. he had apologized and said sorry, he wanted to chicken and steak bowl (he got confused) The girl was extremely rude about it, and she charged him extra for it.. even though the steak bowl already costs more than the half & half. They still scrapped steak off and put very little chicken. Neither meats tasted fresh. No one there was friendly. The drink area was dirty, where you poor the sauces was dirty, and the utensils for the jalapeños were all the way inside the container.. which means if someone's dirty hands grabbed them.. the jalapeños were now dirty and shouldn't have been served. Patricia took my order, didn't tell me how long it was going to be and hung up on me. Super rude. I get there a young gentleman rings me up, polite. I asked him where the dumplings were and Patricia rang my order up just as a family meal. I didn't know what I ordered was called something else. What I paid for didn't include the dumplings and drinks. The young man asks for help, Patricia wasn't helpful. He tried to blame the young man her mistake. It's been over a year since I've been to this Waba Grill! They still have the tastiest grilled shrimp bowl! I love the Terayaki Waba Sauce. It's delicious! The bowl is very filling for one person. I do think they went up on their prices though. I only ordered a shrimp bowl to go and my total was $9.45 with tax! I think that is a bit pricey for a rice bowl with shrimp & veggies. So I'd say 4 stars for that instead of 5. This is a clean location, staff is friendly, and the phone orders are quick. They have your to-go orders ready on time when you arrive. read more

First & foremost her name is NORMA My husband went in earlier today on his lunch break with a gift card. Norma, the shift leader at the time had "helped" ring him up along side another employee. Norma was rudely teaching this other employee how to ring his order up and must have not realized that my husband knew Spanish. Kale salad with salmon was amazing! The dressing for the salad is light and flavorful. Wonderful and healthful lunch option. The WaBa bowls are much less impressive. The chicken was tough and mostly gristle. The beef was also tough and the shrimp were flavorless. The veggies and rice were good but in the future I will only get salmon. read more

I work in construction and don't have much time for lunch so if I don't cook, I get fast food. It's not easy to have something cheap, quick, AND healthy so I'm glad there's a waba nearby. I've had waba a couple of times in different areas but I really liked this location. They went above and beyond in customer service. Very friendly employees that greeted every single person through the door! Very nice cashier as well. And as I was eating, a guy walked around wiping down tables and also asked everyone how their meal was and if they needed anything else. Maybe my expectations were set too low but honestly, how many restaurants, let alone fast food restaurants, treat their guests so well?? And as for the food, rice was well cooked, cabbage and carrots weren't mushy, chicken and beef weren't dry, plating looked good...like I said, I've been to other wabas and I've had very poorly made meals, so this place gets 5 stars from me. read more

I took my daughter here today and once we walked up about 10 feet from the counter it smelled like a sewer had erupted! We looked at each other and made a funny face but decided to order anyways. The food was not flavorful at all, the veggies had no seasoning at all! No salt, pepper or anything and the chicken was charred and only tasted like the thick teriyaki sauce that they smothered it in. First let me start off by saying my family and i eat here at least 4 times per week. The food is always good quality and the wait is always reasonable. I'm actually writing this review because of one employee in particular; ARTURO. i was in there yesterday picking up my to go order and i think maybe it was during a shift change and possibly the training of a new employee, not to mention the dinner rush. There was a woman infront of me that had some issue with her order, and another woman waiting for her order and then me. Arturo managed all three of us with a relaxed, yet very in control manner. He assisted the two girls at the counter with the woman infront of me. He was working with the chefs, the cashiers and acknowledging each and every customer. He apologized for the wait to the other lady in line as her food took a little longer to get out. Overall, he really stood out to me as far as his customer service and the way he was working alongside his team. I. Thought he had ti be the manager.. When i asked and learned he was not I was shocked ! I can only hope that the manager will read this and give Arturo proper acknowledgement & recognize him for the outstanding employee he is !!! This is the first time I've been to WaBa Grill and I can say that I was satisfied. The restaurant is on the small side and also has a patio which is nice. Customer service was great. The girl at the register was very friendly and helped me in picking out my meal. I ordered the Salmon Bowl. Least to say the the bowl itself was on the small side yet it was filling.
