This was my second visit to VY Nail Spa today, and I am happier even more so.than the first visit. Each visit I was greeted warmly. On my first visit I was served by Diane and Kayla who did a really great service. Today, I had a manicure by Dakota who has been there now for 3 weeks my manicure and arm rub was wonderful. I salute this Salon for hiring Dakota and reflecting the diversity of their clientele. My pedicure was done by Jennifer and I will most likely schedule with both of these Techs on my next visit. A week & a half in and my nails still look like I just got them done!! I would definitely come back for basic services, but not when I am in need of a little bit artistry on my nails. Vy Nail Spa is a very cute & classy salon in Grayson. With entrance doors from the front and back parking lots, plus an adorable seating area on the back patio, there's nothing to dislike about by Vy. The salon seems to have a lot of regulars coming there for hand & feet services, and happily accepted me as a walk-in just before the after work rush. I took away one star because I'm not confident that anyone at the salon is capable of doing anything beyond basic nail designs. And whenever possible that's what I like to get it and what I was hoping to get out of the salon. The woman doing my nails thought she was being friendly and giving great advice but instead was saying racist things, like telling me a guy is Black but good looking and how the clients at a south Atlanta nail salon are weird. I forgot the name of lady that did my nails but she has chemical tattoo on her arm. she did such a great job! This is my second time visiting this establishment and its t was a completely different experience than the first! The first time I thought I found a great nail shop but yesterday I left feeling I would never return. The nail shop is clean and seemingly welcoming upon entry. They asked me to pick out a nail color for my feet and nails. I get to the chair the woman ask do I want gel on my toes or say not this time. She says you have it now I said yes but I don't want gel this time. She responds it will be $6 to take off. Excuse me?! Yes if you put it back no charge but to take off $6. I respond regardless if I get gel or not you have to take it off to complete the pedicure. She wanted to argue that was not true ... what??? Next issue I show the man what I want he says is can't get it with the nail polish I say yes I can. I've this type of nail before so I know I can. He also says I can't do sns I would have to do gel also false. He proceeds to ask do I want the nail length in the picture I say no I want my nail length ( my nails were long enough to achieve look...were) he proceeds to cut my pinky nail and two other nails and said now you need tips. My nails are completely different than what I ask for and have cuts on my hand from how rough he was! He literally took his nail to push back my cuticles!!! New to the area and needed a Mani/Pedi. Picked this place, boy do I regret it. The entire shop seems chaotic and unorganized. The nail polish they use is cheap (peeled up the next day), nails are all cut uneven, they left painful scrap marks on the back of my foot. I could go on but I won't. I love the salon the nail techs are polite, they don't use a new dipping powder or do the pour method so everyone's fingers are being dipped into the same colors and that is concerning during this time. I don't know what it is about this place, my nails always come out looking great, but my nails never last longer than a week. Gel, SNS... it really stinks to fork out the money for something that should last at the least two weeks... also the last time I was here the girl doing my nails had sniffles and a runny nose, she didn't wear gloves as she did my manicure. Super bright and clean space. Upon entering, you are greeted and prompted to sign in and to pick out your color. I had an appt at 1:30 and I only had to wait 5 minutes to be seated. They had 4 pedicure options ranging from $27-$50. I got the "Vy Pedicure" for $31 and added paraffin wax for an extra $5. My technician Lisa was super accommodating and took her time as she did my service. Her massage was also really good, she even went as far as asking if I wanted more pressure or less. My second visit to Vy. Nails look fine but my customer service was disappointing. I waited over a hour and watched as they sat a party of 5 (that came in 45 minutes AFTER me). When I brought this to the manager's attention they did seat me and do my pedicure but then told me they couldn't do my manicure because they needed to do one of the children in that party of 5. I said I'd wait, which I did, but then they started yet another person in the party of 5 without telling me it would be an even longer wait. I left, as I had waited too long. First time was SO happy with both my fingers and my toes. Second time was super pleased with my pedicure, but the woman that did my fill in must have specialized in torture. Buffed my nail with the machine till it was hot and painful. She said "let me know when it's hot" but when it's hot the damage is already done...she hurt me when she filed my nails, and finally she shoved a file between my thumb nail and nail bed--causing pain that continues--been 4 days now. I called and made an appt for a Pedicure. I was greeted when I walked in and advised to sign in. I did not have to wait a long time to be seated in the chair for my pedicure and was asked if I wanted something to Drink ( water soda) This salon does have a lot of regular polish and gel polish to choose from. The nail salon is very clean and bright . The prices for pedicure range from 27-50 ( I think ) I ended up with a Vy pedicure which was 31. I did not get the technician name who did the pedicure but she did a great job . She asked if she was applying too much pressure ( for the foot rub) and the pedicure actually lasted as long as the time that was printed. I will be back. read more

Not impressed with Vy Nails & Spa. I broke a nail at the gym and decided to pop in for a quick nail fix. I called and asked if it was alright that I come. When I got there she told me it would be a 10 minute wait to fix ONE NAIL. Then after that ten minutes, she told me it would be an additional TWENTY MINUTES FOR ONE NAIL. She ended up taking me at the ten minutes. Then she rushed through someone's pedicure just to rush and do my one nail and was rushing so much that she buffed my nail until it was hot and it burned. Then cut the side of my finger. She proceeded to apply like 4 coats of the nail polish to get it to match. Additionally I asked for coffin shape and it definitely square and does not match up with the rest of my nails. She didn't ask if the shape was ok, so I had no chance to correct it. I just wouldn't recommend this place. They are flustered and take on more customers than they can handle which leads to poor service. read more

First time I had Timmy he was great till the second time I came he was rude / unprofessional. My nails were sloppy & not what I wanted. This salon uses mma ( purple liquid ) used for acrylics which is ILLEGAL because it melts your nail off. Not to mention the card reader was down so they asked if I could write down my debit card info so that was sketchy and I'm thankful my friend had cash because I didn't feel comfortable with the idea. read more

July 3rd 2022: BUYERS BEWARE! I have just got back from this nail shop and my simple advice for anyone wishing to get your nails done is, think again. My experience was just awful: I am visiting from London, Uk, and took my two nieces aged 11 and 14 to get their nails done for a treat. I needed an acrylic infill (which costs £25 in total, with no strings attached, in my local nail shop in west London), and I was treating my 14 year old niece to a set of acrylics, and the 11 year old to a simple gel polish on her tiny fingers (very short as she bites her nails). For this I was quoted upon entry that it would be $50 for the 11 year old's full acrylics, $40 for my infills and $25 for the gel polish as she was little and the nails were small. A total of £115, which I thought excessive... but ok. After a very long wait in an uncomfortable chair (annoying as they had plenty of massage chairs free) I got my nails done. I am not happy with the results as they are a very sloppy on the underside of the nails, there are a couple of bumps in the polish, and there is polish on the skin next to the nail. But I guess I can live with them. The 11 year old chose a green colour, and while i was in the bakery next door she asked for a minuscule black heart to be painted on a single nail... hardly a 'design'. The 14 year old chose a long acrylic in a simple white colour and asked for a similar, matching tiny heart on one finger. (See pics, which I will try to upload) When I went to pay a different lady rung up $145, which came as a complete shock to me. When asked why, she said that the tiny, barely visible black hearts were $5 a piece, and the extra length of my niece's acrylics was also an extra cost. She also said she was charging me extra for french tips, even though I was simply replacing what was there upon entry and was not quoted for that feature. I was very upset and angry, and asked them if they were trying to take advantage because I was not from the US, and initially refused to pay the whooping $30 extra, to which, predictably, they pretended not to understand what I was saying. In the long run, I gave up and paid the fee, stating that I would never come back again and would leave a negative and accurate review of my true experience, warning people that they rip people off. They didn't seem to care. To be clear, I am happy to treat my nieces to something special, but no one likes the feeling of being ripped off... They even had the bare-faced cheek to ask for a tip... I was speechless. How rude! These people are dishonest, they are abrupt and impolite, and the service is mediocre at best. I DO NOT recommend that anyone wastes their time here. read more

Not happy with my service at all. My pedicure was rushed and it SHOWS. I even bought into their "luxury add-on" to make sure i was getting the right treatment. The technician servicing me was laughing and pointing at my feet to her peer which made me feel really uncomfortable. Clean and classy salon. Very friendly staff, offers complimentary beverages (water, soda, etc) and has plenty of nail colors to choose from. I got my pedicure and dip manicure done at the same time since I was one of the first to arrive. A littler more expensive than others in the area but you get what you pay for. Great nail salon! They take their time and do a really good job. I even took my daughter and her friends for a birthday treat and they gave the little girls the same treatment they give me. Not rushed at all. Plus, the salon is really clean.
