Not sure the reason for these bad reviews! I work near here, so I regularly stop by for dip powder manicures, pedicures, root touch ups and cheap blowouts. They are fast and efficient. I'm not coming here for a luxurious spa day...this is more of a quick stop after work before I go to pick up my kid. I do advise calling ahead for an appointment if possible. I don't love the parking lot, and sometimes the clientele can be kind of rough, but they get the job done. read more

This is by far the best place I've been for a pedicure. I can't believe it isn't busier. The ladies are so wonderful and my nails have never looked or felt better. This place is nearby and wanted a quick pedicure. I was reluctant at first due to the reviews. But again, the convenience was key. I went in and didn't wait at all. Chose a color and the lavender spa option (around $42) Diane was gentle and extremely thorough and she had excellent pressure for the massage! When she was done with the pedicure and while my toes were drying she did a short neck massage. I opted to increase the massage for ($12) ten minutes. PRO: This place looks nice and has a great selection of colors and polish brands. CON: This establishment has terrible employees in regards to professionalism, knowledge, skill, and technique. I walked and was greeted by one of the employees, asked what I needed and proceeded to seat me. Another lady sat down and started to soak off my gel. I picked my color and design from what they had as samples. She shouted over me in Chinese across the salon, then informing me she didn't know how to do the style I wanted and no one else could do it either. I asked her after the soak off to be careful of one of my nails as it was broken and I wanted her to wrap it. She hit my hand and rudely said "I know, i know". I asked for my cuticles to be cleaned up and I got completely ignored, TWICE. I asked her to cut them down, showed her the length and asked for a round shape. She gave me square and they were all uneven. After I repeated I wanted round, she proceeded to file them so short and they're STILL uneven. The polish job is terrible. She bulked on the paint and not allowing me to cure the paint completely, forced my hand out from the lights, globbed on a concoction of oil, lotion and alcohol. I couldn't wait to get out of there. Paid $48 for this.... was pressured into getting dip the second I walked in the door. The man that did them seemed like it was his first day. Cuticle cut was not included with the manicure. They wanted me to pay $10 more for that.... he didn't tell me to wash my hands before he rubbed lotion and oil all over, so nail shavings were rubbed in with the lotion... never going back!! read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would. Absolutely horrible service. Booked an appointment with David. He's usually good with pedicures so I decided to book him for a powder gel manicure. Came in, he started off fine. A couple minutes into my manicure I noticed he was dosing off with an electric nail file in his hands. I didn't feel safe at all. Asked him if he was okay, laughs and said yea I'm good. He finished my manicure and I was happy until 10 minutes in and I noticed my thumb nail was not attached to powder gel itself. I was furious, you spend close to $40 on a manicure and it's not perfect. Sorry but that's not acceptable in my books. I rush back, show them my nail, he speaks to the girl in their native language. She sits me down and puts glue on my natural nail to stick it to the powder. I look at he shocked. Asked is this all your going to do, she answers with confidence 'yes'. Can you believe that. I expected a brand new nail but no, they wanted to cut corners. Since they wanted to cut corners and not make sure their customer is satisfied resulted in this long negative review. You guy can review the photos attached as you can clearly see the natural nail is barely attached to the powder after they tried to fix it. My first three times here were ok, of course they always work on rush speed. Today a different technician worked on me. The results were disastrous. Not only was the color they put not match what I requested, I wanted a very light silver with a little shimmer and instead got a bright greenish gold. The excuses then were really dumb, and what was the solution, the manager came over and slapped on another layer of sparkle making the nails even thicker and wonkier. When I asked for a discount for the ugly looking nails, she said it was my problem. They seem to treat there regulars nicely but it seems like they are not interested in gaining new regular customers. I will never come back again, and never recommend this place to anyone. This nail spa receives a 4 star review. I came in to get an LCN which I was very happy with. The lady stated they can last up to 3 weeks. I was very disappointed when about 4 days later my nails were all peeling off. I went back into the salon and the minute they saw my nails they took me right in and redid my nails at no extra charge. I also got a pedicure which was great because it comes with an oil they place on your heel, however I do wish they would spend a little more time massaging your legs. They give you a shoulder and neck massage while your nails dry which is fabulous. Also, if they are busy they will rush to get you done which always leaves you feeling like they're too busy for you as a client. Prices are a bit high but not by much. Go during downtime like on mon-weds. Stay away from this place on the weekends and you'll be sure to love it. read more

But this time they had me wait an hour and a half for a powder manicure. someone finally came over and started my nails, and immediately got up to go do someone's pedicure, then left them and came back to me WITHOUT changing their gloves. she finished my gel manicure within 10 minutes, because she was rushing to get back to the pedicure she was doing. my manicure came out so back, the powder was popping up off of my nails, so I had to say something. After getting mad that I said something, she filed ONE of the messed up nails( and made it crooked). the lady must have seen how mad I was, because she tried to laugh it off and say "you like it ?" I regret even paying , then she had the nerve to say something about a tip ! I will NEVER go back here for a manicure or pedicure ever again! read more

Rarely do I write a review, negative or positive, however, I'm taking the time to write one today to hopefully save your nails, time and money. I went to VV Nail Spa for a powered gel manicure and pedicure since the place I normally go to was unable to fit me in without an appointment. Big mistake. The person who did my manicure was so rough I had to stop her several times when using the filing machine because it was burning and very painful. She filed my nails down so much that within a week several nails broke! I've been getting powered gel manicures for over a year now and never has a nail broken until now. The pedicure was not better, leaving my heels feeling rough. A lesson well learned. If my place can't fit me on the same day, wait for the next available appointment. read more

So I went to get my hair done. It was a great deal, wash cut and straighten for $28. As I was looking in the mirror at my beautiful hairdo, I noticed the table in front of me w the combs and brushes and it all looked filthy. The comb that was used on my hair was then directly taken and used on the lady next to me. I was trying to say something but I guess they didn't understand. I went to get a manicure and a pedicure there and the service was okay and you'll go in and out pretty fast. The place was clean and you have a good array of colors to pick for your nails. Even though you'll be quick, the manicure wasn't that good though and the cuticles weren't cleaned well and there was a lot of bubbles left over my nail. The actual place isn't bad. It's clean and they have a lot of colors to choose from. I got a regular mani pedi and right from the start it was already bad. The massage chair I sat in for the pedicure was broken. I couldn't get a chair massage but I also had nothing to rest my arm on. It was trivial so I ignored it and didn't complain. The pedicure itself was horrible too though. She (I didn't catch her name) paid absolutely no attention to the cuticles on my toenails, which were one of the main reasons I had wanted a pedicure in the first place. The paint job was sloppy, I didn't get a calf massage which is pretty much a guarantee, and my feet looked exactly the same but with a bit of color. She didn't buff my toenails and my feet were in the tub for only 2 minutes before she started working on them. It was clear her objective wasn't customer satisfaction or doing a good job but to get done with me so she could move on to the next person. I was already a bit upset by the work she did on my feet and I was annoyed that she was going to be doing my manicure but I didn't want to be rude so I just went with it. She didn't even ask me if I wanted a different color for my nails, which I didn't but I feel like that's just something they're supposed to ask. She was way too aggressive with my cuticles on my finger nails. She ended up scratching my actual finger nail!! You go into a salon to get a manicure expecting that your nails will look better than they did walking in but that was definitely not the case. She ruined my nails and just painted over them like it was nothing! And she didn't even do that well. There were bubbles in the nail polish, she got some on my skin and didn't wipe it off, and when she bumped two of my nails and messed up the polish she didn't redo them. If I could give zeri stars I would! I took a friend for a pedicure and we got the best one. We got gel polish and because I got the 60.00 pedicure I would think it would be included. My lady kept walking away from me during the pedicure and i barely got a massage. When I went to pat they added in 20.00 per person for gel polish. At no time did they tell us it was going to be extra! I called to complain about the lack of attention I received and to tell them they should make clear that gel is an extra 20.00 per person and the male owner was so condescending and rude!!! He made a backhad apology anf blamed me for not asking how much. I came feom a more expensive area and have never paid 80.00 for a pedicure!!! Oh, you better bring cash too because they pass the cost of a card or debit onto the customer too!!! Its a rip off!!! Unless they are doing the pedicures with gold, it's NOT worth it!!! Location is convenient if you live in Manor Heights, Todt Hill, or Castleton Corners. Modern decor. Best to make appointments for any services Thurs.-Sun or they'll tell you 5 minutes and you'll wait 15-30 minutes. Pedicures are about a 35 minutes with decent massages and paraffin wax baggies applied to your heels while polishing. Nice perk for clients are the quick neck massage with all hair and nail services. Never tried waxing or any of their skin services but Mike does great blow outs. Lisa will burn your hair-stay away from her for blow outs and dont't go to the lady closest to the cashier or your mani will be interrupted twenty times between phone calls and customers. Overall this is a great place but time management is poor. Monday through Wednesday you'll find peace before the weekend chaos. read more

Instead of working around her disability, they were rude and didn't even bother to clean or file her left hand-they only worked on her right hand. When I asked them to do both hands (common sense) and offered to lift up her hand myself while they filed and cleaned, they responded back with an attitude and made her feel like an inconvenience. I've never been here for my nails but on a recommendation came for a hair blowout. It didn't appear to be the cleanest tidiest salon but I was there and desperate. I completely misjudged the girl who did my blowout. I thought she was to old and not on trend. I was so so wrong! She was great, my blowout was gorgeous and lasted for a few days. I used to go to this nail salon faithfully every 2 wks. I stopped going because they were always crowded and you would have to wait too long to be taken care of. When it was finally your turn the technician would be rushing and going so fast that I would get a pedicure and gel manicure all within 20 mins. I stopped getting their spa pedicures because simply they sucked. I got them a few times and there is nothing really different about them from the standard pedicure other than the price. Yesterday I made an appointment and decided to go back to VV nails because from what I remember they did a good job other than the rushing and overcrowding. I walked in the salon and I wasn't greeted. After being in the salon a few seconds one tech looked up and uninvitingly asked can I help you? I told her I had an appointment. She said ok and to have a seat and they will be right with me. Another technician came and got me a few seconds later and told me to have a seat at the pedicure station. Before sitting down the other techs began speaking in their language and laughing. I could tell they were probably talking about me which made me feel uncomfortable. The tech offered me the spa package but when I said I'll have the regular pedicure I could tell she was upset and was very cold towards me. This made me uncomfortable and she acted like she didn't want to do my nails. The technician didn't speak to me at all except at the end when she told me that I chose a nice color. I ended up messing up my pedicure and went back the nxt day to have the technician fix my nails. I offered to pay but was told since I just got it done yesterday they will fix it free of charge. I thought oh how nice until they began speaking in their language after I walked by. One of the technician painted my nails again.. she seemed annoyed but did a decent job anyway. After my nails dried I noticed the manager staring at me with an angry face and rolling her eyes.. as I walked by to leave I said thank you to her and she didn't answer. Then, again she begins speaking in their language. Bottom line I won't be coming back here again. I can find better salons to spend $65 at. If you want to go to a salon that talks about ppl and makes you uncomfortable then I suggest this place. They do an average job. Nothing special being done here and the technicians are all very rude and have no idea what business etiquette is. I've been here a few times and your experience really depends on who is actually doing your manicure/pedicure. I had a really uncomfortable experience which is why I'm writing a review. I came in to get a regular manicure but I had powder gel that needed to be removed. The lady started screaming and saying things I couldn't understand but kept saying powder powder! Idk why all the bad reviews. I've been coming here for a few months now steadily. In the past it was maybe once a year and I always had a good experience. The workers are always welcoming and always ask what I want. I always get my nails done by Jimmy and he always does a great job. The pedicures are always one of the best I ever had and are very relaxing and involve a lot of time. I never had a pedicure that was less then 30 minutes. They always give great messages after they finish your nails. I highly recommend this place. read more

Horrible experience. My first time here and they will never get my business again! My massage consisted of a rub of lotion and rubbed right back off with a towel for hands and feet. When it came to the shoulder massage I got slapped on the shoulders and the women walked off. I knew it was not going to be a good experience when the women (C C is her name) would not give me eye contact when speaking to me. I complained to the manager and she acted as if I was bothering her. Being as how I was the only person of color in the establishment and was treated so poorly I think it is safe to assume it was purely because of the color of my skin. The woman that did my nails was rushing to do my nails just so she could sit her next customer, and she cut two of my fingers while using a nail buffer. Not only did my manicure come out terrible but now I have two infected cuticles because of this. I tried reasoning with them as respectfully as possible but the owner refused to give me a refund and tried to give me a discount for my next visit instead. I told her I would not be returning considering how bad the service was and that I would be needing my refund. After going back and forth in the salon she refused the refund completely. Please save your nails and money and DO NOT go to this place. They will literally rush you out of the chair and do your nails like crap because all they care about is their next dollar. VV is a lovely salon.. clean and spacious. However its overly priced and the pedicures have left me less than thrilled on more than three occasions. Last time I went there I had the worst pedicure yet! The guy who did my feet couldn't be bothered,, he barely cut my cuticles, rubbed the pumice stone on my heels for all of two seconds and did the sloppiest paint job I ever had.. My dog could have done better with one paw! and forget about a massage.. he could barely walk me to the seat before he was running after his next victim.
