One of the people messed my eyebrows up BAD. Anna (Owner) fixed them, I made a standing appointment with her for every 3 weeks. On my 3rd visit with her I was in her chair as she yelled at her employee about another employee who works there. She wasn't focused and took off half my eyebrow. (that we were growing back) She asked me why I was upset, what happened as the tan line from the missing hair was shining. I never went back. read more

I decided to give this place a try since it had such great reviews. I am not sure how this place gets only 5 star reviews. My experience was mediocre and I was not satisfied with my eyebrows. I had made an appointment for 6pm. I feel like the service was rushed as the woman told the other woman to start cleaning up. And so my eyebrows were rushed too. After the first try I looked in the mirror and saw 2 completely different eyebrows. I have to say, she did try to fix my brows 3 times but it still looked patchy and sloppy. Also, She started penciling in some of my eyebrow which didn't make sense to me since it should all be tinted(they were so patchy). Maybe this place is just good for threading but I highly do NOT recommend eyebrow tinting. I wasn't charged for the tinting given i was highly upset. Very fast and professional! The entrance is like a house and you just walk in. They have 2 barber-like seats with large circular LED lights and the eyebrow threading was only $15. They also provide eyebrow lamination and do eyelashes too. read more

Lack of hygienic practice. The woman threading me did not wash her hands or use hand sanitizer after threading the customer before me. Even worse, she coughed several times into her hands. She touched my face repeatedly with her dirty hands. She smelled like smoke. Maybe she has a smoker's cough, but still? I asked her to keep my brows thick. She made them thinner than I wanted and said she made them even. They looked very uneven when I got out of the chair. I have to use makeup to fill in my brows. I wasn't going to leave a review, but after I saw the cuts on my neck I had to share with you. I have never had cut marks on my skin after the many years I've received threading services. I should've went to the mall because they are less expensive and get the job done quickly and efficiently. read more

Okay, I have been driving by Amna's for years and wanting to go, but never made it until this week. Let me start by saying I'm VERY pleased at my experience here. Making my appointment required leaving a text for Amna at the listed number, and she got back to me within the hour, by phone, to confirm a time. I'm not really sure what one expects at a brow salon, I had never been to one before. I should preface my note by saying that I'm a trans woman, who has not really made use of beauty culture until the last few years. I had gotten my brows waxed once, years ago (when I was younger and more beautiful.) As you can imagine, my anxiety was HIGH, going in. I felt like I needed an expert, and Amna's website gave me confidence that she knew what she was doing. Before even sitting in the chair, Amna gave me a critical look at my face, had me take off my glasses, and asked me my opinions on what I wanted. She identified the issues with my brows and told me how she could address them. (She even took into account that I do always wear my glasses, so she designed my brow to be visible and pretty with them on.) The process WAS painful, I'm not going to lie, but it is SO fast compared to the torture of tweezing at home. They were very supportive, even offering to take a break because I was crying, but it was better for me to just power through. The time in the chair felt like it was just five to ten minutes. She said she was not going to go TOO far in the shaping, or leave me very thin, because it was my first time and it's better to go in stages. That said, she left me with a gorgeous shape and razor-sharp edges, which is a 100% improvement. The staff was INCREDIBLY nice to me, very sweet and welcoming. The shop is very small, but cute and charming. The staff is totally trans-friendly, they made me feel exceptionally welcome. I just left the salon with beautiful brows done by Samina. She was very polite, didn't push any services on me and threaded my brows so fast I barely felt it. I do have to say that I called multiple times to verify if they were open, or if i had to make an appointment but they have an automated system that rings once and then send you a text saying they're busy and to please text back which I did but no response at all. I am so lucky to have found Amna. Moving from Brooklyn, I was scared to try anyone new and the constant, dependent travel to Brooklyn for eyebrow threading was becoming frustrating. I began my search for eyebrow threading and came across Amna's reviews and decided to give it a shot. First visit went great! She opened my eyes to a world of knowledge about eyebrow threading technique - no one has ever done that for me before. She pretty much walked me through the whole thing which I appreciated, obviously. She can be quite busy at times but boy does she work fast. Appt making is very easy, a text away. Nowadays I never get my brows done anywhere else but queens because I have a designated woman who does my eyebrows. But when I can't get to Queens i must settle for a threading place in Staten Island. Amna does a good job with threading. I've gotten my eyebrows threaded here a few times. All times have been ok. She said I should try the henna tinting, but did no patch test before hand, and applied the tint immediately after threading my brows. I got an extreme allergic reaction and ended up in the emergency room. After doing my research, I realized she didn't practice professional protocol. The tint that she used contains dye, which many people are allergic to. If you're charging for a service, professional protocol needs to be established and all rules and regulations should be used. Many people might be ignorant to the process of eyebrow tinting and it's the professional's job to educate them and practice safety procedures read more
