That alone is unprofessional and leaves a bad taste. Tips are not supposed to be demanded or mentioned unless the person says so the demanding culture is ridiculous. Linda completely gave us everything we asked for, and somehow all in time! She was very nice and made sure to check in on how we were doing throughout the services. I came here because I needed a hair trim, since I was unhappy with my haircut I had gotten two months ago at another salon on the island. I had an appointment at 2:30PM on a Sunday and was seated promptly. The lady who washed my hair was gentle and explained what products she was using. Aisha, the woman who cut my hair was attentive to what I wanted. I wanted around 2 inches off, layered and she delivered just that. She always made sure to show me how much she was going to cut and if I was okay with the length. I love how she texturized my hair, which gave it more volume and definition. I ended up loving my haircut with the layers -- not many places know how to layer hair well. They used Paul Mitchell products during my visit and I ended up purchasing a hair serum online when I got home since I really liked how it made my hair look. I made an appointment here today for my mom to get her hair colored and cut. The salon was pretty busy but she was seen a few minutes after her appointment time. We really liked how the color and cut came out and will definitely be booking future appointments here. It was also super convenient to schedule my appointment through Yelp. I noticed everyone who came in while we were there was also coming by appointment and the salon was constantly busy. They do hair color and cut, make up, henna tattoo, and eyebrow threading here. Recently I box dyed my hair a dark violet but wasn't very happy with the results. I went to Aisha and showed her what I wanted. I've been going to Aisha for almost 6 + years now and every worker in there is patient and does not make you feel like you're not at home. Even durning COVID when they were allowed to open again they wouldn't let anyone in without a mask so whoever says different is lying because I've been going there for over 6 years . This is the only place I will allow my eyebrows being touched, as well as my hair. I switched to this place to get my eyebrows threaded appropriately 6-7 months ago (mainly because of the price $6!) and I have never been happier with a salon. They are always sweet and you can tell it's a family oriented place but they always make you feel right at home. I've gotten an up-do hairstyle for a wedding with them once and I have very thick, kinky hair and they knew exactly what they were doing. So happy I found this salon! I Desperately needed a hair cut and was glad they were open the first week of phase 2. The staff was very nice, both the owner and my stylist made small talk and made me feel welcome. The owner also apologized profusely for the condition of the salon as they are finishing up their renovations because the contractors were delayed. I can tell the place will look very nice once everything is done. LeeAnn (sorry if I misspelled) is the stylist who cut my hair. She did an awesome job! She gave me the exact haircut I wanted and was very meticulous! She didn't show me the end result with a mirror but I think that was due to the renovation and the staff having a little trouble finding where their supplies were placed. August-6-2022: I have black boxed hair dye in my hair from during the pandemic and lockdown days. I went to a different hair salon to slowly work towards getting blonde highlights again. They gave me multicolored hair that looked like a kindergartener did it. It was awful and embarrassing. I decided to go back to Aisha's salon for color correction, and to continue working towards my blonde hair goals. Especially since she was able to get me from red hair, to blonde hair a few years ago. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and as always, Aisha spent hours on my hair, making sure i left happy. My hair looked amazing by the end of the appointment, and she was able to get the layers of black dye out, and give me some blonde highlights in just this one visit! One or two more visits to Aisha's hair salon should get me to my blonde hair color goal. I highly recommend this salon. read more

Going to a new place to get your eyebrows done is always nerve wrecking. It either turns out really nice or it looks like someone shaved off your eyebrow unintentionally. I've read a bunch of yelp reviews on this place and decided to finally give it a go. There was only one lady threading, so the wait was around 10 minutes (with two people ahead of me). She was extremely nice and did my eyebrows in a flash. My eyebrows are pretty hard to shape (asymmetrical eyebrows are the worst) and she did a great job! Compared to the threading places in the Staten Island Mall, the prices here were very affordable. My total came out to $6 + tip. I came out very satisfied and will definitely come back. read more

I have been going to these ladies for over 3 years now. They are very friendly. Danish does the best eyebrows on the island. I would highly recommend it to all the Pakistani and Arab women.. I came in for layers and Aisha gave exactly what I asked for. My hair wasn't growing so I know I needed to get a trim. I hadn't gotten a cut in over a year. So I asked for long layers and got exactly that. Aisha Listens and is very accommodating. And the prices are to die for. 6 dollar eye brow threading and 4 dollars for lip?! Sign me up forever! It's a great spot. These women know their stuff. I would definitely recommend and I will be returning for sure. UPDATE! 9/30/2016 I went to dye my hair I haven't dyed it in years. I wanted a purplish/red mind you my hair was virgin. I asked her if it needed to be bleached prior cause my natural hair is dark brown she said no. So my hair was dyed. Came out ok. My roots were much lighter than the rest of my hair. She pushed a small Paul Mitchell color set on me to buy to insure the life of he color. So I wash my hair (with the product) and most of it washed out. It looks like I used boxed dye for my hair. People aren't too jazzed about it. I've been told I've been ripped off by multiple people. Yesterday I went for a trim and blow out. I had an appointment and was taken immediately. I anticipated spending about 2 hours there but my hair was washed, trimmed and blown out IN 48 MINUTES. I was impressed at how seamlessly they worked as a team. Im still shocked how fast I was out of there and able to get started on my Thanksgiving cooking! My hair smells soooo good and feels so soft. She did exactly as I asked and knew exactly what she was doing, The epitome of professional. And more importantly, she told me that she came in just for my appointment even though it should have been her day off which I thought was extremely nice of her when she told me that, considering certain circumstances such as it being the day after New Years Day. Horrible Horrible horrible. I took my grandma here to get her eyebrows and face threaded. When we got there the threading lady had just finished tinting a clients eyebrows and she called my grandma to her chair to do her threading. In the the middle of threading my grandmas eyebrows she stopped and went to the girl who was getting her eyebrows tinted. Of course if she took two minutes to wipe the tint off it would be fine. But no, she took her sweet time and just left my grandma laying in the chair. I went up to her and asked how much longer she would be before she came to finished my grandmas threading and she said one minute and I can assure you it took much longer than one minute. Eventually she comes back then does a little threading again. Then back to the tinting she goes!!! She went right back to the girl doing the tinting and stopped my grandmas threading again. Finally she comes back to my grandma and then one she starts threading she stops AGAIN to chit chat with her coworkers. It's fine to chit chat while thready but she stops the treading and just chats with the last next to her. We have been in the salon for over 30 minutes just for threading. Didn't offer a discount or refund for the inconvenience either. She should have waited until she was done tinting or told us to come back. We will never be returning to this disaster of a business again. Such a terrible experience read more

I went a few months ago- but came back upset. Was recommended by someone and I thought I'd try it out. I only wanted a trim but was charged $50 + an extra $10 because of the length of my hair( honestly I don't see why it matters how long my hair it when I just need a 1 inch straight line trim on the bottom. I also asked for Aisha who was recommended by a family friend and they just kept saying no no this other person does it well too- honestly no offense to anyone but when it comes to recommendations you only want to try the person they were told about. Overall bad experience and I wouldn't come back for this price tag. The person who does eyebrows however was a sweetheart and I absolutely loved her. There's one lady who mainly does eyebrows and she does a phenomenal job, however all of the staff is so set on talking in there own language that they don't ask what you want. I was trying to tell my eyebrow lady to keep it's shape and to just clean it up but she was too busy yapping with every body else she thinned it slightly. Not a big deal, my eyebrows grow pretty fast and it wasn't super thinned. None of the staff will greet you but their work is excellent! My facial lady was really good, will def go back here. If I could leave 0 stars, I absolutely would. This is the worst experience I've ever had in a hair salon. I've never left a review online for any restaurant or service I've ever received but I am so unhappy with my hair that I made this Yelp account to warn future customers. I walked in for a simple blow out on a FRIDAY to a completely empty salon, which should have tipped me off. I was quickly taken to get my hair washed, which was fine. The woman who proceeded to "blow out" (I use quotes because I had to actually force her to blow OUT my hair not just dry it) didn't even brush my wet hair after the wash. She was literally planning on just drying my wet tangled hair with no brush, just picking up pieces with her hand. I had to ASK her to use a round brush to blow it out. If I just wanted DRY hair I could've done it myself. I asked for some waves in my hair with a curling iron (because it was clear the "blow out" would just leave me with flat dry ugly hair). The end result was HORRIBLE. Hair waved in weird directions with flips on the end like a '50s housewife (I'm a 21 year old, trust me I wanted no such look). I even had to ASK for hairspray in my hair to hold the waves... A hairdresser should KNOW what products to use on different hair types. It was clear the woman doing my hair never attended any type of hair schooling. I'm not sure why this place has great reviews on Yelp, but I can only assume it's friends and family. This place wasn't even super cheap, where I can make excuses for the low quality. I paid the same amount I would have at a far better salon. Trust me, do not come trust your hair to this place. If my simple blow out was this unsatisfactory, I can't even imagine what a dye job or hair cut would be. read more

I am so glad that one of my friend's recommended this salon to me after I moved to Staten Island. Since my first time there back in December, I am now a regular. I go there for almost every week for eyebrows threading - Danish is wonderful. I also get my regular facials here. They do a great job. Above all, every time I was here, Aisha would be working on different hair colors and styles, I liked her results so much on others, that after years of keeping a natural color, I decided to get my hair colored and what a great decision, she did a WONDERFUL JOB.
