I don't have the greatest insurance since I don't make the greatest salary, and so when I talked with my doctor about some seriously disconcerting neurological problems I've been having, she helped me obtain a referral through my unfortunate insurance. That referral was with Dr. Nancy T. Vu.
Now, I cannot speak to her expertise since I didn't even get a chance to see her, so this review will speak to the horrible office staff and scheduling there.
I obtained my referral on April 19th and hurriedly called to schedule an appointment. I was told by their staff that the soonest I could see the doctor was June. After the initial shock of having to wait months for answers to what was going on with my body, I thought there was nothing more I could do, due to my coverage. I made the appointment and waited. No phone call came for confirmation of my appointment or clarification of the costs I would need to pay. So I called them to find out what was going on.
The phone was answered by an Asian man who only responded, "Yes - hello?" No "Thank you for calling Dr. Nancy Vu's office -- how may I help you?" Just an impatient "Yes - hello?" I told them who I was and said I had not received a call about my upcoming appointment. The man tersely responded that I had no appointment because it had been cancelled since the doctor was on a 60 day leave of absence. Stunned, I asked why I was not called and informed, to which the man responded that I was called yesterday according to their books. I have checked my phone records and I can honestly say that I received no call and had no voicemail. I told the man that it must be incorrect as I had received no call, but he refuted me saying I had been contacted. Rather than go on about why they would even wait to "allegedly" call me yesterday, since I'm assuming this 60 day leave didn't happen yesterday, I decided to lay the argument aside and ask when I could reschedule. Not until August, I was told. At that point I couldn't go any further, gave a cold goodbye and ended the call.
I understand doctors can get busy. I understand that doctors need vacations or emergency family leave. However, I cannot understand how any doctor could employ such inept, impersonal, uncaring staff such as I have had the displeasure of dealing with. Now I have had an issue with my body that has had me stressed and a bit scared about for months now without a doctor to provide aid or answers and I am no closer to those answers. In fact, I feel further away.
I WILL NOT be going to Dr. Vu, even if she is a wonderful doctor. If anything, I've been inspired to warn everyone about the awful staff and terrible wait they are about to face. They provided no help or solutions, only further complications. I could have been seen by another doctor by now rather than wait on something that was actually nothing.
I've read some of these 5 star reviews and they sound fake -- paid for even. Be very wary, dear people. Find a doctor whose staff will actually help you rather than compound your problems. read more
