Avoid Dr. Luu Loi if you can. The only reason I came here was to take my mom, since many elderly Vietnamese patients feel comfortable with her because she speaks Vietnamese. Unfortunately, her English communication is very poor, which can make things difficult and confusing. The office itself was extremely cluttered. There were Buddha statues everywhere, and patient charts were literally piled on the floor. There was barely enough room to walk through the office comfortably, and it did not feel organized or professional. What concerned me the most was that every time my mom visited, the doctor would ask her, "What kind of medicine would you like today?" That honestly shocked me. A patient in her 60s should not be deciding what medication to prescribe for herself. I would expect a doctor to evaluate symptoms and recommend the proper treatment professionally. Dr. Luu failed to diagnose measles in adult. I wasn't aware that I was not immune to Measles. Dr. Loi didn't even check the rashes on my body or ordered any blood test. She said "to use my head & understand that it was most likely spring allergies", despite the fact that I was never allergic to pollens. I was dismissed without receive proper medical treatment. I later found out that the rashes on my body were because of Measles. Please look for other primary care doctor if you don't want to put your health at risk due to a negligent provider. Office experience: front desk employees were loud & didn't protect the privacy of patients. I could hear their conversations & health issues of other patients. Wait time: it does not matter if you have an appointment. You will have to wait 30-45 minutes to be seen by the doctor. read more

She took a look and said "it's probably cancerous but there's nothing we can do but monitor it." This was years ago of anxiety, only to find out through my own personal journey, research and seeing another doctor that it was PCOS. A simple test and referral could have put me ahead of the journey of healing but nope. everything is "cancerous" and "solved with a pain killer." MRI's before blood test. Lazy. Irresponsible. The first time I came here was for a check up. I was 18 years old at the time and the doctor looked me up and down and stared at my chest and asked me if I ever had intercourse or if I was sexually active. I said no and she still kept asking me and wanted me to get a Pap smear. You must be sexually active or at least 21 years old in order to get a Pap smear. Mình nói cách bà ta nói chuyện nghe rất chói, nó không lịch sự để bắt đầu cuộc nói chuyện, và nếu cách làm việc của nhân viên bà ta bị khách thang phiền thì nên tìm hiểu lý do. Khi nói chuyện tay mình có thói quen chuyển động thì bà ta vu khống là chỉ vào mặt bả, bả tha hồ nói nhng không muốn nghe mình nói. The ONLY reason I went to this doctor is because she is closer than all the other doctors to my home. I was NOT impressed, though. 1) She misdiagnosed me, said I had scoliosis, after telling me to bend over and touch my toes. Upon reviewing my x-rays, a doctor I chose in Fountain Valley said, "What? You have the complete opposite of scoliosis, missing a 30 degree angle." 2) She violates HIPAA laws, in that they ask you what you are there for in front of everyone. Then, when they finally do call you in, you are then seated in a hallway within the actual Dr. Luu's medical facility, where sometimes 3-6 people are watching TV, coughing all over the place, and listening and watching as the assistant weighs you and checks your height. 3) Then they take your blood pressure and/or blood on the other side of the wall in the hallway, still in plain view of others. Talking about your Blood Pressure loud enough for others to hear. 4) The last straw is when my son went in for a cold and we received a letter in the mail saying he was approved to see a nutrition specialist. This crazy biatch did that behind my back? Really? DO NOT go to Dr. Loi Luu unless you don't mind being misdiagnosed, having your medical conditions talked about in public, etc. This is the WORST facility ever! I called in to make an appointment to come in for my annual check up and blood test. As I got inside, there were many people waited in the "lobby" already and the office had not open yet. My appointment time was 11:45 AM, I got in super early, 11:00 AM. I just went straight to the window and signed in. I have been to this office before and always hesitant to go. It was the way the staffs work from pull the files, verified insurances, etc.... They need to do all of that prior to the appointment dates. They need to have the patients in on time by their appointment time. It seems like there were problems with the office staffs, not the doctor. The doctor at this office is very friendly, nice, sweet, and helpful. There were like four or more staffs worked in the front office. I don't understand with so many staffs in a small office like that and still make us wait very long time; EVEN WITH APPOINTMENT!! The new staffs/someone handled the scheduling needed to be well trained on how to give patients their appointment and recorded in the system or something, don't just verbalized and cause patients to come in, had them waited for a long time, and then later told them (when they came up to the window to ask when will be their turn to come in) that they don't have appointment written down; so therefore that patient doesn't have any appointment. I am also speaking for many elders people whom experienced the same thing I did, which they have told me about while I was sitting there waiting with them. Yelpers, let the poor ratings sink in to give you a sense of what kind of establishment this joke of a "medical facility" is. Dr. Luu's practice deserves every negative remarks and expletives because they deserve it. Never have I been to a more inadequate BUSINESS let alone a medical facility. There is absolutely zero professionalism nor courtesy, especially coming from the front office staff. The main problem is coming from the top with Dr. Luu herself. Like someone has mentioned in the reviews, it is as if she could care less about any of her patients anymore. With a mentality like that, it is no wonder that such poor attitude trickles down to her staff. Sadly, they are not competent to perform even the simplest of secretarial duties. There is always needless runarounds and lack of communication regarding insurance or copays. After you jump through their needless hurdles, you get 2-3 minutes where the doctor "sees" you. What broke the straw in the camel's back for me was witnessing how my girlfriend was treated today. She is a very nice and gentle individual so she would not want to stir trouble. However, it is worth standing your ground when you think about how they are treating people. She had a $15 fee to pay and did not have cash so opted to pay with a card, a mistake I guess. Being a Viet business, cash is really king because she got the dirtiest look when she was pulling out her card. Next, the lady swiped the card and kept saying loudly that the card doesn't work and THROWS the card on the counter in front of my gf. This is our joint debit account so I know there's at least $15 in there. My gf proceeded to hand her a second card, which is a shared credit card with a high limit remaining, and again it doesn't work. The receptionist lady AGAIN throws the card on the counter and walks away and mumbles to another lady to take care of this as she isn't bothered, causing a scene in the office. Bear in mind, she just told us the cards do not work but yet no declined receipt printed out. As pissed as I was, we remained respectful and calm and asked them to wait and try their machine again because I felt they were getting a fax which was tying up the phone line for the cc machine. After a few minutes, the second lady swiped the original debit card, and guess what?!? IT WORKED! It was a miracle! My gf got her shot, which they did in a hurry and didn't even bother to give her a band aid. She walked to the car with blood dripping a bit. To summarize, there have been many horrendous issues with this place and we have overlooked it time and time again to give them the benefit of the doubt. What's sad to think is that this review or any negative reviews won't have an impact on them because the majority of their business is from older, non-internet savvy Vietnamese patients. I would not wish this place upon anyone's mom/dad, grandma/grandpa, aunt, uncle, or even enemy as they would treat them horribly and probably concoct false illnesses to commit Medical fraud (yea, I said it!). In an ideal world, they would see that their older patient base would soon move on to the afterlife and the younger, more Americanized, Yelp-oriented patients can make a stand by not patronizing this hell hole. She'll drop all these bombs on me and doesn't explain why it's happening or how she even got to these conclusions. It's always the same, drink these meds, come back for blood test, go here for these test. ARggRr!!! She made me go to Quest for these comprehensive blood screenings and she didn't even tell me I had to fast, good thing I did. She doesn't really tell you anything. I'm not even sure if she deserves one star!! She's my mom's doctor and I'm reviewing her staff/facility as well. All a horrible combination. My mom is going through chemo therapy and has many symptoms to deal with. Recently, there was a drug interaction that caused my mom to go unconscious due to loss of blood to her brain, drugs that Dr. Loi prescribed. We took my mom to the ER right away. Before we left, the ER doc told us to take my mom to her family doctor ASAP to get checked up and to modify her medications. Dr. Loi's office is closed Wednesdays and despite what is posted at her office, they would take lunch from 12noon - 3:30pm without any rotating staff to at least pick up the phone. We had to wait almost two days to see Dr. Loi even after the ER incident. On top of that, my mom tells me that even with an appointment, she consistently has to wait 2 hours before she is seen. Apparently, they take walk-ins who would take precedence over patients with appointments just because they would sign in before those appointments. The staff is a whole other ball game. They are unprofessional and incompetent. They didn't even know who to call to get my mom's medical records from the hospital where the ER was. It's only one of two of the closest hospitals around. The staff asked my mom for the hospital's main phone number!! WTF!? Everyone within a 5 mile radius of Little Saigon knows Orange Coast Memorial Hospital!! They are rude and have no common sense!!! The facility itself, at the least the waiting area was a sad sad and depressing lobby with dirty old chairs with nothing around. No plants, no coffee table, no magazines, nothing. Sitting there you can hear different personnel yelling at each other and to waiting patients from across different office windows. Don't ever take your loved ones there!!! read more

I usually sit in the main waiting room when my grandma visits the doctor. This time one of front desk ladies asked me join my grandmother because the doctor wanted to have a "talk" with me. Talk? No. The doctor yelled at me. Dr. Luu Loi raised her voice at me for a total of about 15-20 minutes. She was upset because she thought my grandma wasn't taking the right pills. My grandmother brought roughly ten empty pill bottles and asked for refills. Dr. Luu Loi said only one of ten pill bottles my grandmother brought in were actually prescribed to her recently. Granted, my grandmother is sort of pill-crazy, but my grandma always keeps her empty pill bottles to reference to if she ever needs them in the future. Can you blame my grandma for doing so? It's hard to keep track of those abnormal made-up medication names. On top of that, my grandmother doesn't quite know what pills she takes on regular basis because we have a live-in caretaker who looks after her. The doctor wanted an explanation for these long expired pill bottles and I didn't have one. I left for college and this is first time I've taken my grandma to the doctor in two years. Since I didn't have an explanation, the condescending shouting continued. Dr. Luu Loi had my grandma's pharmacy fax over their copy of written prescriptions to be sure my grandmother had collected the correct medication. She blamed my grandmother for not taking the correct pills because my grandmother did not go to pharmacy to turn in the most recent prescription sheet according to the pharmacy's history sheet. The doctor proceeds to call the pharmacy for additional details. Turns out the pharmacy made a mistake when faxing over the prescription history. The doctor didn't apologize for pointing the finger at my grandma. I should also mention that while waiting for the pharmacy to fax over paperwork, the doctor made the rudest and most condescending statement. She spoke in English so my grandmother couldn't understand. "I don't know what is wrong with your grandma. She must have dementia or something is really wrong with her head." I understand that my grandmother can be hand-full, but that's something you keep yourself. read more

This doctor does not get any stars at all. I would give her a negative rating cause that's what she deserves. I was really sick from UTI. I questioned the lab result for my urine before I knew that I had UTI to Dr. Luu. She only told me that I worried too much and I was fine. I believed her. Needless to say, I ended up being terribly sick from a UTI infection for about 2weeks. I found out from another Dr when I gave them my lab result paper. That Dr immediately gave me antibiotics right away. I ended up having depression and anxiety because of Dr. Luu wrong diagnosis and had a hard time trusting doctors for awhile. My sister (early 40s) is going through the same problem with Dr Luu now. My sister is really sick now and cannot figure out why. It's for a female part for sure. She's in pain so bad that she cannot sit down. Dr Luu said the same thing to my sister like she did to me "You worry too much." Dr Luu was not helpful, no sympathy, and downright mean. My sister was crying to her that she's in pain. All Dr. Luu said to her is "Don't cry to me. It is no use. You're not sick. It's all in your imagination." What kind of doctor says that to a patient who is absolutely in pain!!! My sister is not the type to go to a Dr for everything. She knows when she is sick. So my sister is in search for other Drs to get second opinions. I will not recommend Dr. Luu to anyone. I am sorry for anyone whoever had a similar experience to us. Change to a better doctor. Like the previous reviews state, Dr. Luu Loi is a very sweet and polite lady. She is the type of doctor that asks how you and your family are / and keeps up with you. The young nurses here who take your blood/shots are also very sweet, gentle, and polite as well. This place is crowded with old sick Asian people who probably don't speak any English. I have only been coming here because my mom loves her. Check ups / Wait time both terrible. I went in for a checkup. They took my blood / urine samples and 2 weeks later they called back saying I need to come back and redo them because they LOST them... Both times I was charged for co-pay. Dr. Luu Loi said my brother and I had a Vitamin D deficiency because we don't go out in the sun enough and prescibed us both with 50,000 mg of Vitamin D. Uhm? I live in California next to the beach? How does that even happen? and 50,000 mg?! I ended up taking them anyways and both of us didn't notice any change. A week later, she calls, saying we need to have some sort of shot for our liver that needs to be approved by our insurance. I have since been visiting another doctor. I wouldn't even give this place a one star. Been here twice and it's always crappy service. Today I came in with a sore throat, cough and ear infection. I have my covid vaccination shots. I had covid before. Its a 1 out of 100 I will catch covid after my shots and going through covid again. They said they won't take me in unless I get a covid test. Seriously? Rapid test takes about 2-3 hours for results to come back. By the time you take me as a walk in, you'll be close due to the wait. pretty sure if i get the test, you guys will be unable to take me in. What's the point of being a family practice when you can't take walk in patients? Ya do know people can get sick prior to the day before? I called and they want to schedule me a week ahead. Doesnt even make sense. by then, pretty sure I will feel better or either walk in to a clinic. SMH. I work at a hospital and I know the protocols. Reading the reviews, you guys really should practice on your service. For example, take half appointments so you can leave room for half walk ins. I needed to have MMR shot for school, and my insurance was expired, so I had to pay cash. They asked me to pay before giving me the shot. Was a patient here back in 2013. The wait is always long for me back then (don't know about now). Sign in at 8 AM, don't see Dr till 12 PM. She talked to me for 2 minutes and started prescribing medications like giving out candies. Because she was too busy dismissing my obvious symptoms, I was misdiagnosed all these years (2013-2018). Someone I know was misdiagnosed for the same length of time too. If you only want medications, this is the place. If you want to see a specialist, good luck. Beware of that Dr before you choose First the staff unprofessional and leaking your information , so rude when you talk to loud patient have HIV ...STD...Hep B blaaablaa.. don't know HIPPA . Second wait too long , you will wait more than 2 hours and meet her in 3 mins. Third you never ever have correct diagnosis when you sick to see Dr and don't know why you sick bcoz you only have 3mins Yeah , everybody told me , she very sweet and nice . You're wrong , you have nothing from that Dr missing file patient , bill not correctly and you have trouble about that, you will pay for it later .Everytime my visit alway hear " you ok , you fine so not worry about it". Let think about many older patients come many years but no one older pass away over 80 years old. I used to think she was great. But I guess she's finally burnt out. My check ups are atrocious now and she's gotten so rude. She once asked me, do you want to get the flu shot today? I told her I didn't believe in flu shots, and she replies, "haven't you heard of all those people dying?" and left. No, but have you heard of people dying from them? Rude. And my body actually can't handle flu shots as I've learned from 12 years of getting them annually. So after being abandoned in the room with a prescription in hand, I was on my way out when the elder nurse stops me. The last time I was here, she told me I haven't paid for some shots I got last time. It was some misunderstanding since the nurse that took care of me last time forgot to keep record of it. THIS TIME she tells me AGAIN that I didn't pay for that same shot she mentioned last time. Uhhh no bitch. I pay for everything man. Even for your bad service so next time maybe you should um...start being more organized? read more

I will rate for Dr Luu Loi nothing, because this doctor office is too bad, the front officers are not professional in services, patients are always waiting for long time even thought they have an appointment before. One day I went there for my blood test 3 weeks later I called them twice to have the result. The voice of a woman answered that within a day they give me a result. But I'm sure that they won't . I called and asked them that " is it ok if I walk in there to get the result? " the the woman said you have to wait more time! The other thing when I came to see doctor because my skin has some problems Dr Luu Loi told to me that you have nothing, and maybe your mother has white skin and your father has dark skin so you are mix, some areas in your body have white and some have dark. So funny, Basically, most people in the world have two parts of color in their bodies if where is not cover it 's dark because of sunny. The rest is white or different color. However inside the office some nurses are wonderful, Finally in medicalize field Dr Luu Loi and her staff are not professional, have not good knowledge about how to serve the patients and medical ethics wrongfully. read more

My Mom and I have been seeing Dr. Luu for at least 15 years since she opened her clinic in Westminster . My Mom loves her. She has a great attitude towards her patients, always very patient. She takes the time to HAPPILY answer ALL my questions and she always makes me feel very comfortable. I can say nothing bad about her and her staff. They are all wonderful, nice, friendly and awesome service over all! I would and have recommended Dr. Luu to everyone I know. read more

I hate to do this, but this place is a fucken joke in all seriousness. Office doesn't open till 9am so I get there at 8:30am to see a doctor as soon as possible as a walk in patient and their sign up sheet for today is already full! However as I look at the lobby there's only 3 people sitting in the lobby - either appointments or walk ins, not sure. So where the hell are the other 25 people who signed in? Leaving a sign in sheet out so people can sign up, leave then come back, and pretend they didnt hear their name yet still get called in is horrible! On top of that, people hoover over you at the counter giving you no personal space or privacy of your medical history or reason to be there! Nonetheless, I was there today waiting for 2 hours and finally went to the window to ask how much longer their wait will be? One lady said soon and another lady asked for my insurance card took a look at it and said the doctor doesnt accept my medical group anymore. I literally just renewed my insurance and got the card on 1/3/2020! She said they can still see me but will need to call my insurance provider to find a new doctor. So I leave to call my insurance and also decided to not see the doctor to prevent any non coverage charges. I call my insurance plan and they called the doctors office to confirm they do in fact still accept the plan I had. I even checked online on healthnet and there it was Dr. Loi Luu accepting my plan. I literally have been sick for a week now with horrible low pack pain and anxiety and I received this HORRIBLE treatment from the front office lady! I have gone to this office about 4 times and everytime there is indeed a long wait in the lobby (about1.5 hous) and then additional (30-45min) wait in your room to see the doctor! What kind of medical establishment is this?! I pay $330/month for healthcare with $40 copayments for this treatment?! RIDICULOUS! Lastly, in my experience at this facility I do feel they are very much bias over patients and display unfair treatment. I have already called my insurance to complain I hope this is taken seriously because this is horrendous! read more

She is a great doctor that I've been with in the past 8 years. Very caring and listening well to my problems when I needed her consultant. I would recommend her to my friends and give her 4.9 stars (because of the wait since she has many patients and they all like seen by her.) read more

do not go to see this dr. very rude. does not explain anything. patient had no idea WHAT MEDICATION she was prescribed (had to ask pharmacist). not willing to answer questions. she is definitely in the wrong profession!! read more
