Walked in and there was one customer being taken care of. All I wanted was a gel manicure and the woman that was free was eating in the back and all the sudden she was unable to take me because she had a client coming at 5 and it was 4:20 so there was time. But they asked me to come back at 5:30. Which I said no because there was no reason they couldn't have taken care of me. And they were rude about it as well. Never will try to go back. Clean location with great customer service from the owner and other folks who work there. I've been pleased with both experiences and found their gel manicures to last a long time and it comes off nicely at home too without damaging my nails. Same with the pedicure, my feet have been in great condition in the weeks that followed. I especially love the hot towels and attention to detail during the spa pedicure here. I've also experienced waxing here and found their waxing room to be very clean and inviting instead of just a sidethought like it is at most nail places locally. The overall experience was pleasurable. However I think the actual manicures and pedicures have a lot of room for improvement. My friend was very unhappy with how her pedicure came out, toes all uneven and shaped differently, my pedicure was thorough but the end result wasn't the best but my toes suck to begin with so that may be why. They offer complimentary wine if you are of age and the place is immaculately clean. Also, the way Lynn handled things when my friend was unhappy redeemed themselves a bit, although we still had to pay full price for it. They're a bit pushy about other services but that's nothing new to me so overall I would probably come back. P.S. She literally would not ALLOW me to tip on my card. VQ is my new favorite nail place. I came across it quite by accident a few months ago, but now won't go anywhere else. It's so so clean, friendly, flexible and the ladies do a wonderful job on my nails. Lovely spa-like decor, and lots of color selections. The prices are comparable to other salons in the area but the service is beyond great. As an added bonus, owner is hilarious and great conversationalist! I came to get a french mani-pedi and the pedicure went fine, it was actually very relaxing. The manicure was a very different story! It was done by a different person and this dude did NOT know what he was doing...my nails came out uneven, crooked, the shapes were half square, half round, the coating over the acrylic nail did not cover the entire nail on some fingers; he did the bare minimum and they looked worse than before the manicure!! I was upset, I told the dude it was uneven and he kept insisting he was going to fix it but he did not...I talked to the owner and she tried to fix it but she gave no discount, just her card with her name on it. I found this place on a whim after having an unpleasant experience at another salon. I walked in as soon as the gentleman was opening the salon. I was greeted immediately! I informed him that I did not have an appointment and was told it would not be a problem. The nail technician walked in literally 2 minutes later and began my manicure/pedicure. My new "Go To" for a pedicure/manicure. What can I say? Super clean, very friendly and helpful staff, my nails all look fantastic (gel manicure and a regular pedicure). Prices were competitive for the area. My pedi was $27 (which included a glass of wine - complimentary) and my gel manicure (french tip) was $30. A standard manicure runs $15. I am officially obsessed. I tried this place out mostly because others had reviewed it as a clean place with friendly staff. Let me start off by saying, I had orginally scheduled my appointment for 5:30. With Nova traffic, that didn't happen. I called in advance, regardless I got there at 5:50, and Lynn was so understanding! This was possibly the least painful Brazilian that I have ever gotten. To the point where I could have sat there for another thirty minutes if I wanted to (thank god that wasn't the case though). Lynn was quick, and her attention to detail surpassed even my own. Trying to prepare for my birthday vacation, I visited VQ NAILS twice in one week, the first visit was for a beautiful, natural looking French gel manicure and then I returned the very next day for a thorough, no stone unturned Brazilian and deluxe pedicure while enjoying a glass of white wine. This was my fourth time getting a Brazilian, but the first time I ever been asked to stretch to ensure everything was clean. I have been a customer since she first opened her salon and I always bring my little princess with me (spoiled little girl, has been getting pedis since she was 2!). Lynn is one of the sweetest and kindest people you will ever meet, she has a heart of gold! She has always been very accommodating and more often than not, I call to see if she can see me, and she fits me in their schedule within 30 minutes to an hour tops. She makes sure her clients are satisfied and leave the salon feeling special and pampered. She offers complimentary wine (upon age verification) and bottled water. The salon is beautiful on the inside (don't let the exterior of the building fool you, they made a huge investment bringing this place to today's standards), you really get that spa feeling, the facilities are very clean, they use liners in the pedicure bowls, they all wear gloves, and the utensils are sterilized, nice massage, warm towels and the most beautiful smile, ever! great price, great service, great conversation, she is a total gem! 5 Stars no doubt! read more
