The 3rd time is a charm. As part of our move from San Francisco to Aurora, CO, we decided to ship…read moreour EV, rather than suffer range anxiety while out on the range. It was a big decision because we had used other services to ship other cars in the past and, on both occasions, those cars suffered pretty severe damage. We were referred to moveauto by the moving company that is transporting our household possessions. The furniture move coordinator assured us that we had nothing to worry about based on the fact that he'd been referring customers to moveauto for several years with no complaints. Here's what I liked: They picked up and delivered the car within the time range specified. At first they wanted us to drive across town to meet the driver in a shopping mall's parking lot. Instead, the driver said he could pick it up from our house. That was a big plus. They delivered the car on time and in good condition. Monica, who coordinated the move, was there to answer questions along the way. There was some confusion over the name of the trucking company that picked up the car (It was LVIV, not moveauto). We had some questions about the timing and logistics surrounding the pick-up, and she resolved them. The drivers were friendly, courteous, and efficient. The price was comparable to alternatives, and we figured it is on a par with what it would have cost us to drive to Denver, taking into account meals, hotel stays, and charging the car. I highly recommend moveauto.

I'm writing this so future customers understand how car transport brokers can operate behind the…read morescenes. I hired Car Shipping Carriers on Yelp to ship my car from Sunnyvale, CA to Arizona. They seemed professional, but instead of handling it directly, they passed my job to a second broker without disclosing it up front. That second broker listed my car for $775 on Central Dispatch--apparently too low for the route. No carrier accepted the job, and the company offered no solutions--just an "oh well, the route is dry" message. The whole deal fell apart the day before my scheduled pickup. I had to scramble to make alternate plans at the last minute. The auto transport industry is full of brokers like this who promise a pickup date without securing a driver first, and who rely on desperate customers caving to price hikes or last-minute cancellations. I encourage others to ask these brokers: - Are you the broker posting my job, or will someone else handle it? - Will you guarantee a driver and pickup date, or just list it on Central Dispatch and hope? - Can I see the exact price and listing terms you're using to attract a carrier? I wouldn't trust this company again unless they're willing to be transparent about the full broker chain and offer real confirmation of service, not vague promises.
