What a very nice affordable wedding dress shop. Upon entering with our future daughter in law and her mom, grandma and bridesmaids we were shown where we could sit. We were offered a water or a sparkling water. Next our consultant asked style questions and then she was off with the future bride looking at dresses. Then was the fashion show the consultant was very helpful and knowledgeable. They have plenty of dresses reasonably priced. You can also get your accessories.

The staff was amazing and did a fantastic job creating a fun and inviting vibe for us! They had a great variety of dresses unlike some other shops we went to and better yet had all their dresses in multiple sizes so it made it must easier to envision each dress on my body. They offer a VERY great price range for any bride! I was more than pleased with my time here. I wish I could remember the name of the gal who helped me. She found me THE dress and I would not have picked it out without her nudging me to try it on. 10/10 experience!!!

The whole experience was amazing all of the staff was super friendly and welcoming. The dresses and the boutique was super clean. There was enough space to where it felt very personal even when other people were around. Dress price wasn't bad at all I told them my budget was max 1500 and even though the dress I picked was a little bit over I couldn't be happier.

I was dreading wedding dress shopping & was certain every dress would be like the ones I hated online. Vow'd COMPLETELY shifted my expectations and was the best experience. Christiana was so informed, thoughtful, fun, and kind throughout the whole process. She was the one who pulled out the dress that ended up being THE dress for me. We went to 2 other stores after Vow'd and nothing was even close to the experience, quality, and customer service we experienced at Vow'd. Dresses were also so reasonably priced, my mother almost cried. 10/10 every bride should go here. Absolutely nothing else to say but THANK YOU!

This little hidden gem of a bridal salon was such a treat to have my first bridal appointment at. Their selection was huge and staff was extremely helpful! My stylist, Brittney, was amazing. She really listened and found me the most perfect dress. My experience was magical thanks to her!

My friend and I came to Vow'd to try on bridal gowns for her upcoming wedding. We didn't have an appointment, but when they learned we had driven 2 hours to see the dresses she'd fallen in love with online in-person, they squeezed us in with one of their stylists. They offered us a selection of their sparkling and flat waters and brought us back into their VIP area. Our stylist, Katie was a bit new, but super friendly and helpful! My friend went through their dresses, selecting the ones she wanted to try on and then went back to the dressing room. I was impressed that they had a 4, 10, and a larger plus size in each of their samples. They had a nice selection of all styles and felt very inclusive to every body shape/size. Katie helped her try on every dress, asking her what she liked and didn't like. Both my friend and I would have preferred a little more insight on how certain dresses could be altered, but we understood she was new and we were already appreciative to have been squeezed in. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and my friend narrowed her choice down to two with plans to come back.

Vow'd was my first experience trying on wedding dresses, and it was such a great experience.

Despite that, I found Galatea to be a classy store but with a bohemian laid-back vibe. The separates were mostly of softer, less constructed fabrics, and of styles you don't see in the mass market stores. The fabric textures could work well for both casual or professional wear. It's always good when you can add something to your wardrobe without fear of seeing it on someone else the next week. With that; however, Galatea isn't someplace for young fashion, but rather a store for the woman who feels young at heart without necessarily being slotted into the "middle-age" genre of clothing. The clothes aren't inexpensive, though, so be prepared. Galatea also has some truly beautiful jewelry, scarves and handbags to complete whatever look you're after. The ladies working here cheerfully answered my questions and made recommendations on some of the jewelry I was perusing, but were not pushy, overbearing , or shadowing me around the store like some crazy stalkers. It's not a place I'd gravitate toward, mostly because it isn't my style; but I wouldn't mark it off my list if I needed something different.

Many of my Galatea items become favorites and get worn out because I reach for them so often. The prices aren't super cheap, but since I end up wearing the items for a few years they actuallyl become bargains. I'd rather pay $75 for a shirt I wear 100s of times than $12 for one that shrinks weird after two washings and has to go to the thrift store. The styles are mostly comfortable and unusual, but work well for artsy or relaxed offices, low-key dressy events and socializing. A friend characterized the clothes as "California" in style. The store stocks several Made In The USA brands and lots of organic cottons, linens, etc. They also have lots of locally-made jewelry, handbags, candles, etc. While it's a grown-up, non-trendy women's store, my 15-year-old has been known to pull an item off their substantial consignment racks in the back of the store and make it work in her teen wardrobe (she's a Free People, Madewell, Urban Outfitters shopper usually.) The staff is friendly and very low-key. If you prefer shopping without having to make idle small talk, they will allow that. If you want assistance and like talking through your wardrobe choices, they will do that as well. Bonus: they sell Locopops popsicles which is always nice on a summer afternoon!

And I say this as someone who has been to many a thrift shop, as well as a couple of the other vintage doors that show up on Yelp in the Research Triangle area. On this occasion I was in dire need of a dress to wear for a mehndi social event and was looking for something very much in alignment to a beautiful multi-colored number I had rented from Rent the Runway last summer. In hindsight, I should have bought that dress when I had a chance, but that's the thing about hindsight. . . Anyways, Dress proved to be a really fun browsing experience. The store is large and the racks are full and generally assorted by color, which really helps when you're looking for something specific. I tried on two items. One: a multicolored tunic style dress and 2: a really cute romper with some lace appliques. Neither of them got me super excited, so I will keep up my search for the dress that got away. Meanwhile I was pleased to find that Dress also has a healthy selection of well-made jewelry, as well as designer shoes for perusal. I may have struck out this time but this shop is definitely going into my rotation. This Brooklyn girl is definitely starved for some fun fashion finds.
