Larisa is absolutely amazing! I had my wedding dress altered elsewhere, and the other tailor had made a mistake that made the dress truly unwearable, such that the boning above the bust area was hovering inches above my actual body. After many tears, I called the bridal shop where I originally bought the dress, and they told me, "if any anyone can fix it, it's Larisa." Man, were they right! When I came out of the dressing room to show her the dress, she sighed, gave me a big hug, and told me she'd do what she could. Two weeks later, she handed my dress back to me, and it was as good as new! She'd managed to take the boning out and stitch the lace back together in such a way that the seams were invisible. I booked Larissa with hopes that she'd be able to help me with my bridesmaid dress from Revelry for a wedding in May. The dress I ordered was way too big and needed the bust, waist and some length taken off on the bottom. Once I got there and put on the dress, she pinched the side of the dress with just her fingers, asked me where else I wanted it to get taken in, then went to write up an estimate. She didn't pin it, she didn't take chalk to the bottom to know how much to alter too. When she came back she said it would be too expensive. I asked her what the price would be, because that wasn't very clear. She said it would cost $310 to alter everything. I asked her how much it would be to keep the length and just take the sides and bust, she replied " well how are you going to walk?". I figured I would be able to take the length myself and have her take in the rest, as it's only a french seem at the bottom of the dress. However, I was a little taken back by the comment and decided to find another place to get my alterations done as her step price seemed a little too steep for me. The next day I booked an alterations at Nordstrom,and they quoted me $110 dollars for everything I asked for from Larisa. I have no doubt that Larissa is very skilled however, I feel like the price for alterations was a little too steep in my opinion for a bridesmaid dress. read more

Please read this review before considering going to this shop. I brought my wedding dress in to be altered 3 months before my wedding date. Larisa demanded full payment up front, charged a $75 credit card fee, and said the only time I could pick up the dress was the week before my wedding (she said no to a second fitting). The total charges were $1,325.00 for the alterations (to hem the dress, bring the top in, shorten the straps, and add a bustle) and an additional $250.00 for the dress to be steamed. With the credit card charge added in, the total ended up being $1,649.00. I went to this appointment by myself, and she took advantage of that fact. She intentionally and predatorially took advantage of the fact that I have not done this before and was by myself. Within 5 hours of me leaving the shop, I went back to cancel the transaction and get my dress back. The shop was closed. I returned the next day at 11:00 AM, and still the shop was closed. I was then forced to call her and say that I want a refund, and that I want to pick up my dress. She was unpleasant and unreasonable, stating that the only time the dress could be picked up was nearly a week later and that she had already started cutting (less than 24 hours from when I dropped of the dress). I find that very hard to believe, considering the only option I had to pick up my dress was a week before my wedding, which was 3 months away. There is a lot more to this story, including her not giving me a full refund, making rude comments about my mother-in-law's nationality, telling me "I'm too young to speak to her like that" when I was assertive about getting a refund and hanging up on me. She also admitted that if I went to another seamstress, they would charge me $900. When she was presented with the fact that she took advantage of me, her response was "well, why did she come by herself?" - two clear admissions of her horrible morals and lack of character. Overall, she is racist, ageist, and volatile. Please, please, please do not go to her for service! read more

I took my wedding dress in for alterations. She pinned the dress and then gave me a quote of $1200. I explained that kleinfeld had quoted $800 for the same work but she stood firm. I left the shop, composed myself and called to tell her I was returning to pick up the dress. She charged me $100 for "her time" and I had to watch her rip pins from my silk gown before she would turn it over. This woman is truly awful. I ended up using Olga in Raleigh. Beware if you are not the sample size!! I went to this store after making an appointment with my grandparents, two aunts and some friends. We were ready to begin our dress shopping day and have fun. Larisa, the owner brought that to a screeching halt when she said that I COULD NOT try on any dresses because she only had ONE SIZE in the entire store. She then said it would be impossible for me to try dresses at ANY bridal store which was just MEAN and if I had not had a strong support group with me Larisa could have ruined what should be a really fun day for a bride. In short, if you are not the size of a super model don't waste your time with this store! I just had to make a review of this place because all the other reviews are good and they didn't prepare me for the rudeness and nastiness of this store owner!! read more

I highly recommend Larisa for wedding dress alterations. I had bought my dress at a store close to my hometown in NY. Due to COVID, I was unable to pick up my dress until the end of May and the store could not do the alterations (which was originally the plan). I brought the dress home to NC and started looking around for someone to do my alterations on such a late notice without massive rush fees. I found Larisa Style online and signed up for an appointment. Her shop is the cutest shop. The front of the shop is full of beautiful gowns and dresses. If I hadn't already had my dress, there were so many that I would have loved to try on. (She sells many other beautiful non-wedding formal dresses as well plus lots of accessories) Larisa was quick and professional. She tries to get the dress done with the least amount of appointments. I had to have lots of skirt layers removed, a bustle, and an intricate beaded top altered. Since I had so much done, she did the top first and then the bottom. I had the initial appointment, one fitting, and then a final fitting. She was fast and was able to get my dress done before I left to NY for my wedding in early August. I also found the perfect set of earrings there while getting fitted. Prices were comparable to other local shops. She was upfront and broke everything down in writing before we proceeded. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for wedding dress or formal dress. So I began my search while I was out of state and kept finding people that had a ridiculous waiting list and limited availability. My mom found Larisa because her store is located in shopping plaza in her development. I contacted her and she was great off the bat. I brought my wedding dress, a bridesmaids dress for my cousins wedding, a dress for my rehearsal dinner, and another dress. She helped with everything from straps, to length, to adding bra inserts. My dress looked amazing and she did a perfect job. What was also great was she didn't question my dress choice as it was simple because I wanted a simple beach wedding. So many people questioned my simplicity and she didn't. She made suggestions but didn't over talk like some people do. Even when I had a bad "bride dream" and was afraid the dress was too long she let my mom and I come in at the last minute for an extra fitting. Her availability was great. The pricing was high but on a wedding dress and formal dress I wouldn't expect anything else. I will def recommend her to brides and anyone with a formal dress. Larisa is so wonderful, I can't say enough gushing over the top amazing things about her. My wedding is this Saturday, and we're doing it in Durham even though I'm from NYC which also happens to be where I bought my dress. We bought it in NY, and did the final fitting in august not anticipating the last minute weight loss and the fact that my dress literally fell down on me when I tried it on last week. I emailed a bunch of places begging them to take a last minute alteration, and Larisa told me she had an appointment the very next day at 1. I went in (to her BEAUTIFUL store in Apex BTW), she pinned it quickly, attached some snaps to the bodice so it would stay close to my bra, and had it all done in under a week. I went to Larisa originally when I was looking for a dress. There were some gorgeous (and expensive) dresses in her shop, but I could only try on one because the rest were too small for me. I found my dress elsewhere, and went back to Larisa for alterations needed after an error made with my dress order. I needed a hem because of the error, and I also needed to have the dress bustled. The hem was paid for by my dress seller, but I paid for the bustle. It was a 7-point french bustle and it was beautiful! Really, really beautiful. It took a little while, but I wasn't in too much of a rush. She tried to sell me a lot of other items (veil, jewelry, etc.), though I didn't end up doing this. She had some pretty veils, but they were still way too expensive for my budget. She also took care of my "something blue" with a ribbon on the inside of my gown! I really loved her work. My wedding gown was incredibly intricate with a lot of beading and lace detail. Additionally, it had a chapel length train that I was nervous about bustling. First off, I must say that Larisa is one of the kindest and most professional people I've ever met. She did an AMAZING job altering my dress. I am the Maid of Honor in this situation, but was along for the horrible ride the whole time. Let me start by saying she will wow you with all her ideas. The bride really just needed the dress to be let out around the hips and taken in a little by the lower back. When we had left, she had talked her into adding "bones" and cups to avoid wearing any sort of bra. She was charged quite a bit of money, which she believed was for the whole alteration process. When the bride went back (without me) to try on the dress (thinking the process was over) she was so horrified that she could not even speak. She left crying and called me to tell me. She had asked me to go back in and get the dress for her, of course I obliged. The bones were put in upside down, the cups were not what was presented to us, AND there was an additional $1200 in alterations that weren't even completed!! We are currently still battling this woman to get a very big refund for the services that were never performed!! This shop is horrible, she won't answer our phone calls. Please save yourself the time and money and stay away from this woman! She is horrible. read more

Larisa was the most amazing find during the wedding planning process. To understand where I am coming from.... I was dreading dress shopping, to be honest. I get overwhelmed shopping and I am a short, but plus sized woman. I didn't have a huge budget for the dress and so I couldn't afford to go to the high end bridal boutiques where all dresses start at $2K. I also have never had a positive David's Bridal experience and didn't want to go there again. Larisa was willing to work within my budget and has a lot of different options-- from inexpensive bridal gowns to designer bridesmaid dresses in white & high quality fabric -- to incredible gowns well out of my budget, but maybe in yours :) She also designs and sews her own gowns... and is known as the BEST in the Triangle for gown alterations. Hint: If you get your dress at David's, go to Larisa for your alterations... She knew immediately what would work for me and I only tried on 3 dresses. I could have tried on dozens more, but that wasn't what I wanted. The second dress I tried on was IT. The Third dress I tried on would have been it if I had gotten married in a different setting. The entire thing was so relaxing in her quiet boutique... and just a wonderful experience. She added some elements to make the dress more me by my request... and was so quick with working on it. We met up 2 more times... once after the alterations and then again the week before the wedding. She was always so sweet, supportive, & excited for me... and happy to do what she could to make me feel beautiful. Larisa is kind of like a fairy godmother when it comes to wedding dresses. DO NOT GO HERE! I am not one to write reviews but this needs to be said. Everything about this place from the price to the service and quality was HORRIBLE!!! First of all, I went to get fitted for a bridesmaids dress and the cost of the alterations to shorten and take in a little was over $200. Which was more than the dress cost. Then when I went back to pick up the dress which took over a month it didn't even come close to fitting. We couldn't even get it zipped. She was very rude and kept telling me I was just fat and gained weight. Which was not the case. Then when it was 2 days before the wedding and I went to take it back due to her mistake she tried to charge me all over again to alterate it. She said she would call when it was ready. I picked up the dress Friday night before the wedding and she had NOT EVEN TOUCHED IT! NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE! So the day of the wedding I had to scramble and try and get it fixed on my own in order for it to zip. THIS WAS THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! And another side note the two other bridesmaids dresses hems started to come apart by the end of the wedding! read more
