It is an awesome place for anyone who likes to cook. We bought many pots and pans and other small kitchen tools here. These are generally simple in design, intended for professional use (therefore presumably durable), and good value. There is parking in the back alley.

Solid 3.5. A…read morerestauranteur's candy store, everything you need to start opening your own restaurant, though why would anyone do such a crazy thing is another story lol. From a consumer's point of view, it's kinda of hard to gauge pricing; though Rob was helpful, when you're talking about tens of thousands of dollars, it's best to shop around. For instance, I saw my dream machine, a commerical milkshake mixer to make 3 at a time---guess we're talking about a drive-thru style a la United States --- for $995. One note is the warranty is VOIDED if you use it for residential use; guess asking for the GST # or restaurant name would clear that up in a jiffy lol. Besides, one would want this as a write off but I digress. Walking in from 7th Ave. (there's also the Manitoba entrance) the non-equipment goodies will be on your right: dishware, uniforms, pots/pans, etc. To me, there are other places that are bigger and more selection than here. Either way, they're geared towards restaurants/bakeries.

This place is a hit and miss. Some items are cheaper and some just doesn't make sense. If you run a…read morebusiness or a restaurant than maybe it will work out for you. Otherwise, it really depends on what you buy. Some items require you to buy in multiple of 2 or 3 or even a dozen. Not all items are in bulk or sold in multiples of many. I can find better prices elsewhere for most of the items here. I am guessing that is why the store is never busy.

I sometimes come here to buy plastic disposable gloves among other items for food prep. It's like a…read moremini costco where it's basically a big warehouse and everything is on very large shelves. Unlike Costco, you DON'T have to buy a membership in order to buy stuff here. It's entirely optional. The membership includes perks like member only discounts though. Typical of warehouse stores, a lot of the items are packaged in bulk. For example, you can buy a 6 pack of giant condiment bottles instead of just one pack. Another thing is some discounts are only given if you buy multiples. For example, a bottle of sweet chili sauce goes for $4. But if you buy 4 or more, you get 50 cents off each bottle. All in all, this place is really good for people who buy in bulk. One small negative is that the price tags are hard to find. I came with old relatives who had to look very carefully for the price tags because they were jumbled up with other product price tags for other items that were nearby. Other times, you would have to stoop to the very bottom and peek under a not so see-through plastic lining partly covering the price tags. Also, some prices are more expensive than other grocery stores. I didn't buy a 12 pack of pop here because they were more expensive than other places. Came around 8pm and the checkout line was long. It stretched to the middle of the whole store. The line moved relatively fast and I got to the checkout lane 10-12 minutes later. They have a Walmart style checkout line where one giant line is for 4-5 checkout tills. As far as I know, there are no self checkout lines at this store. Staff here are pretty nice. I forgot an item and they let me run to get it and come back. They chatted about personal stuff with another staff member as they rang my stuff up though. Interestingly, even though Wholesale Club is a sister store of No Frills and Superstore, you CANNOT earn optimum points but you can redeem them here. At least that was what I was told by the cashier at the time. All in all, I would come back once in a while for the restaurant or food prep supplies which aren't really sold in other stores or buy items i need in bulk and get a small discount. 3 out of 5 stars.

At least you know that's an option, though this place really isn't for the general public. If I wasn't no nosey with the owners, I'd never would've known about this place.... While the service and selection is good, the place doesn't get kudos for ambience and layout. Definitely more of a warehouse feel compared to Dunlevvy, but here, prices are good, and wheelin' and dealin' is almost encouraged. Everything you imagine to see in the kitchen of a restaurant, can be found here. Aisles are packed quite close, with handy overhead signs like you would see at a Safeway. At the front, is the real heavy machinery, ie. deep fryers, ovens, preparation tables, etc. And next time you order from Pizza Hut, don't get disgusted when s/he takes the pizza out of those thermal bags, it can be run down, ripped, etc.---they can cost $40, as per pic....
