For me, home decorating and organizing is fun, and cooking and baking are fun. So it goes without saying that I ADORE stores like this, that has all the tools - and then some - for cooks and bakers. I was here before Christmastime and, wow, they had SO many awesome gift ideas for people who cook or who like gourmet foods, or special gadgets, or smaller home decor items. I was overwhelmed, to be honest, wandering about like a kid in a huge candy store. So many things that I didn't even know what they were, very niche ingredients and kitchen tools. gorgeous linens, imported foods and specialty ingredients. You'd be hard-pressed to NOT find any kitchen item you are in the market for here. I liked the lay-out of this place, too. Despite it being cavernous inside (it IS a warehouse, after all!), it's laid out in a welcoming way, with various delineated areas, wide-ish aisles, and helpful staff around to ask questions if needed. I also liked that there is a large parking lot here, too (shared with the adjacent No Frills). Bonus! My one caveat: unlike the other folks who've written reviews of this place, I found the prices of items here to be on the high side. Granted, they are were very niche and/or high-end and /or imported and all were of high high quality (big names, well-reputed brands). But pricey. Granted, I visited here at prime shopping season; perhaps they have sales at other times of the year. That said, even with the high prices, I still purchased some gifts that I've not seen elsewhere, and for specialty, unique items, I think it's worth it. Even if you aren't a cook or baker or "foodie", this place is still worth a visit, just to wander and be amazed at what's out there. This is an amazing place. This is perhaps the most jumbled and frenzied of all the Kitchen Corners I've visited (those being…read morethe other location on 4th, and two on Commercial). It also has the biggest kitsch factor. Most recently I found my favorite discovery yet: Styrofoam heads. But I've also bought a tray, plant soil, fabric dye, a random vase and a cutting board here. The glue in the latter unstuck after a year, yet the damage is mendable. The staff is always helpful and candle selection here is fragrant and varied. In addition to the street level madness (and the sidewalk boxes), there is also a basement level filled with plant pots and soil. Kitchen Corner was the only spot I could find soil in February in order to re-pot one of my ailing houseplants. The prices aren't really bargains, but the selection is quirky and gives that garage-sale feel without that coating of yard-sale crud.

They have mainstream kitchen gadgets along with very precise and specific baking and cooking tools, along with fabulous Asian ceramic bowls and dishes and chopsticks and more. Ramekins in every color? Check. Contemporary placemats? Check. Pots and cutlery and kitchen scales and kitchen gadgets that I don't even know what they do but they look cool so I feel is definitely should get them? Check, check and CHECK! They carry a lot of OXO merchandise (I always liked the ergonomic nature of this brand's products, and they last a long time), and yes, some of these items are available at HomeSense at half the price. But they also have here obscure kitchen tools you can't find elsewhere. If you are seriously into cooking or baking, I'm sure you'd find what you need here. Some items are overpriced. I purchased two Swedish dishcloths here for $5.95 each. (They come in a ton of patterns and colors here, which is fun!). It's hard to please me. I found a knife here that could have been custom made to fit my hand. The blade is wonderful, but the handle is a real work of art. Longer than most, perfectly balanced. Yes he had! Lacquered doors, quartz counter, porcelain basin, beautiful faucet and soft-closing doors and drawers. As Ammar went off to get the price list I braced myself. I was expecting it to be really expensive compared to what we saw at Rona. Sure it was more expensive but you're getting what you pay for. We also got a toilet there and even its design is elegant (hey it's your porcelain throne right?) and simple. If you don't think items like vanities and toilets are exciting you should have a look in here. Drool-worthy for sure!
