Great service. She (hate that I didn't get her name) was very patient with me while I took time deciding what I wanted and made calls to complete other orders. Told her she can be creative on my doughnut and I was very pleased. I will be returning. Not only are the doughnuts good but the service was great.
I know, I know... why go to a Voodoo Doughnut location when I live in the Pacific Northwest and with out too much work get to a Voodoo Doughnuts location with relative ease. Why am I going to one in Austin? Well, it's because I am a completeist and I try to go to as many Voodoo Doughnut locations as I can. Austin has two locations but Steve was only willing to tolerate going to one location so we went here. The doughnuts are going to be about the same as any other location however I did come across one that I haven't seen before. I am not sure if it was limited edition or what but I liked it. It was kind of take on a Black Forest Cake but it wasn't cherries that were on top of the doughnut and cream. It was more like blueberries. It was good and I am glad I tried it! I was really hoping to see the Ring of Fire Doughnut as it's my favorite but I didn't see it here. I got more of a powdered doughnut too as I do like their more basic doughnuts too. Steve got something that almost was like a Dubai-esque Chocolate Doughnut. It had pistachios on it and was a chocolate cake. That one was good too! Atmosphere is weird and quirky like all of their locations try to be which I can appreciate. So if you are addicted to Voodoo Doughnuts or have been wanting to try them but don't plan any PNW trips then definitely swing by the Texas locations. More and more locations are popping up all of the time!
This location is awesome! Tons of seating and there is bathrooms for customers! I loved the cute flag and all the decorations. The tables were also very cool and the napkins were custom which is also very fun! The actual donuts are really good too! If you like maple bars then you will love the maple bar here! It is the perfect amount of maple and the actual donut! I do wish they had a water station, but other than that this place is a fun visit!
Voodoo Doughnuts is known for their crazy doughnuts with toppings. They have a lot of options. We got the cinnamon sugar cake and dirt doughnuts. We wanted to get the old dirty bastard, but they were apparently out on a Sunday morning. I thought the cinnamon doughnut would be good, but it was not. It was dry and didn't have a good flavour. The dirt doughnut had generic Oreo pieces on it, and it was okay. I felt like the doughnuts looked better than they tasted, but it was still a good experience to go to their 6th street location. They are open extended hours.
White Cream is a necessity. Unavailable. Ugh. I went way early in the morning. All the donuts were fresh and moist. The Glazed Yeast (The Prime Donut)......... if a donut maker can't do glazed, you might as well forget about the rest. Fantastic. Perfect. The glaze that flakes though moist and a donut that slightly squishes, pops slightly back and has that perfect texture....... And yes Flavor! Perfect Glazed. Well done. A good size and not a weak donut. I did a fancy chocolate cake donut of the Butterfinger kind. A fantastic blend of a good chocolate cake and the touch of peanut from the crisp. A good combo of about 50/50 share of flavor. Focusing on the cake donut resulted in a favorable chocolate cake donut. Freshness is key. Lastly was a buttermilk bar. Good, just good. I know where to get great. You'll have to read my other donut posts to find out where. Just good. Glaze could improve and the complete cool through would be helpful. The dough was alright, not bad. Good ingredients and a nice flavor. On a level of poor, fair, good to great........ Good.
Loved the donut selection at this iconic place Staff were great Super cute trendy pink decor A little overpriced in my opinion If you have kids - watch out for the "sexy shaped" donuts!! A must stop in Austin
I forgot to check in, but see photo for proof we actually got donuts! We actually didn't finish all of them because we picked them up right before dinner. There was a blueberry donut, a mango filling one, banana, these flavors stood out and was what I remember to be good. I'm usually a plain glazed donut or maybe an old fashioned donut kinda person. But these were pretty good for a change, and the donut itself is also good by itself. Many of the fancy donuts I've had, the donut itself can be dry and texture or taste isn't great on its own. This spot deserves the good ratings.
If you are in the mood for a late night indulgent snack, Voodoo Doughnuts is the place to go. Was hitting Voodoo donuts up after a night of music on dirty 6th, and they offer more than 40 artisan flavor options, including over 10 vegan options. The doughnut shop has a New Orleans French Quarter vibe very dark and mysterious. I had to get the apple fritter fried dough with apple chunks and cinnamon and topped with glaze. It was monstrous and big enough to share. They had a variety of other flavors we tried like blueberry cake with glaze and the sprinkle cake plain cake doughnut with vanilla frosting and colorful sprinkles. Great for a late night sugar rush!
Voodoo Doughnut in Austin is exactly what you'd expect from a place that serves over-the-top, sugar-loaded treats right in the middle of a buzzing nightlife scene. When I visited, the area was absolutely packed with people heading to and from the bars, which made the experience a little chaotic but also kind of entertaining. It is definitely not a quiet stop, but if you can handle the crowd, the doughnuts are totally worth it. The selection is wild in the best way. From cereal-topped creations to classic glazed, everything feels a little extra and a lot of fun. The staff kept things moving quickly despite the crowd, and I walked away with a box full of sweet, overindulgent happiness. If you're downtown and in the mood for something fun and delicious, this place delivers. Just be ready for a bit of a scene.
Spacious late night donut shop on 6th Street, with lots of pink all around. We tried the Dirt and the Homer donuts. It's hard to eat a cold donut and enjoy it. Wish they could warm the donuts up slightly but alas not possible, yet. Staff were kind, served us quickly. Nice place to throw a donut party.
Really good donuts -- great variety. The place is spacious but gets interesting traffic lol. Had gotten VD before in Miami, good stuff!
My first time visiting the Austin location, but I've been to the Portland, Oregon spot a few times. The vibe here still has that same fun and quirky energy that makes VooDoo Doughnut stand out. I tried the Pop Tart donut with the strawberry filling and it was really good. The donut was fresh and the strawberry center added the right touch. This place is really good especially if you want a sweet treat after dinner.. So many options to pick from. Great service.. Quick and easy! I will be back.
Very fun & inviting atmosphere. I was on a layover in the city and decided to stop by to taste a few donuts. I got a variety of flavors that the cashier picked out for me. They were very filling and thick donuts. They come cold of course. My favorite would have had to be the blueberry cake.
It's been a few years since I tried voodoo donuts and I decided to order em on ubereats cause I was really craving donuts and the flavors look delicious. I remembered it to be rather average but omg!!! Voodoo donuts have really stepped up their game! These donuts were delicious!!! I ate the horchata and Boston cream donuts in one sitting and will save the rest for tomorrow. I just had to write a review cause they've just became my new favorite donut place! Highly recommend! read more
Dang good donuts folks! Cool space as well. We did not stay to eat hour box there but I wish we could have. Neat little place for sure. Our donuts were all solid! The apple fritter is my favorite donut and sadly that was a little let down compared to what I get at my favorite spot back home in Wisconsin. But all the others were outstanding. Wife and son anjoyed there's as well! Not a crumb was left. Fast service and fresh unique types of donuts always a win! read more
4 Stars for good doughnuts with fun branding and a prime location. When in downtown Austin, it seems almost a requirement to visit Voodoo. Not because it's from this city originally, but because you see those pink boxes all over your hotel lobby as tons of people arrive ready to gorge on these sugar bombs. And so you must follow. The location is right downtown. I went on a Sunday morning and the surroundings looked like a good night was had the evening prior. Like what I imagine the Vegas strip looks like in the light of day. A bit deserted and rough around the edges. It definitely felt like more of a nightclub/bar evening hangout in the area. The location is big, bright, and has space for a long line (which I imagine they see grow out the door in occasion. We ordered a pretty random assortment, including their take on the Boston Cream donut and an apple fritter. Those were our faves of the bunch and I'd recommend them in a heartbeat (Albeit a slightly slower heartbeat on account of all the sugar and fat...). Overall, yummy! Lots of hype for a sweet treat. I wouldn't wait long in line, but if you need your sugar fix, this isn't a bad spot to satisfy that need! read more

I've been wanting to try this place and it's definitely worth the hype. I love the variety of donuts. I don't recall the one I tried the name of it but it was like a replica of "Homer Simpsons donut". So good and moist and just the right amount of sweet. Definitely can't wait to go back! read more
Only spot on six street that serves donuts until late at night. Taylor rich was amazing a had great customer service! We came on a Sunday night, and they had every doughnut available. They have a good variety of donuts in house. I love the carousel in the front that they have where they display all of the donuts that they have. As soon as you walk in a line forms by the side of the wall, and they have all of the merch that they sell on display as well, they have really good items for purchase. read more

Quality doughnuts open 24/7 on one of the busiest bar streets in the USA? What genius thought of this?!? The infamous Voodoo Doughnut brand (from Portland, Oregon) offers a variety of 'gourmet' doughnuts that feel like a form of contemporary art with their unique looks & famous-as-tiff's pink boxes. My favorites are.. The Homer, Marshall Mathers (ha), Dirt, Blueberry Cake, Maple Old Fashioned & Butterfingered. but the classics are great too! I'd hate to say I've tried them all, but I nearly have. You really can't go wrong; however, I do recommend second guessing yourself on the cannolis unless you're truly a fan. The cake doughnuts are delicious.. the regular rise doughnuts are fantastic... the funkier the look, the tastier they are! If you haven't had a voodoo doughnut before, go look at the carousel and see what catches your eye - - and GET IT! You deserve it, boo read more

I like the vibe, the ambience, the sweet employees and cool interior design. But the donuts were way too sweet. We got three and they were all insanely inedibly sweet. read more
The donuts are good! One of my local friend's go-to spots! Today we're went in for a quick treat on the way to the airport. The cashier was not amused by our banter, but the over al experience was fun. The decor is colorful and funky with lots of instagrammable spots. And all of that would be a waste if the donutt wasn't spectacular. They do not disappoint!!! Around $5 for 2 donuts... not bad for what you get. These are yummy and HUGE! Lol! Also, they have vegan options. Not sure if parking is always easy, but it seems like my friend always get a spot right in front! read more
The one thing I can say about Voodoo Donuts is the fact that they never disappoint me. I showed up and they have some new donuts that tickles my fancy. The banana cream pie donut was big and delicious. If you are is the downtown Austin area and you have a hankering for something sweet you need to stop by Voodoo Donuts on 6th street. They are eventually opening one in downtown San Antonio a few blocks from the Alamo. Hopefully it will open in the near future. read more
There are so many choices of donuts you don't know what to pick. These aren't artisan donuts but it def hit the donut spots. The place is decorated very nicely very on theme. It's open long hours so you can get your donut fix at early morning or late night. read more

Very over hype doughnut place! I've heard a lot about this place, but since I live in Houston and we just recently got one and the place is still pack, we gave this place a try because we were in the area. Walking in, place was interesting looking. They have a variety of doughnuts, but it wasn't my type of doughnuts. I still wanted to still give it a try so I got The Dirt. Your normal basic doughnut with cream and oreos on top. They were HUGEEEEE! The doughnut itself was delicious, but the cream made it so sweet I couldn't finish the whole thing. We got many of the others that looked really good. All were super sweet though. The workers were nice and friendly. We had one that was so funny. She told us we can customize our doughnuts by either writing something on it or adding sprinkles which was pretty dope because we got the Cock-n-Balls. We had to add a little decoration on that one. I don't think I'll be back unless I'm REALLY REALLY craving for something crazy sweet. read more
Coming to austin I had to try this place since I saw it on food network years and years go. Sadly it did not live up to expectations. The special voodoo doughnut that I saw on TV all those years ago looked nothing like it used to. It was old almost stale like it had been made the day before. I gave it another go by getting the limited time special Mango Ginger Kiss doughnut. Which was a yeast doughnut with mango cream filling and ginger icing with some crystalized ginger on top. Sadly this also was a disappointment. There was not very much cream in the center and the ginger flavor was almost non existent. It appears the quality has gone down since it gained fame. The atmosphere and menus are cool and the coffee was decent. I wouldn't recommend going out of you way to go here. read more
This is a larger Voodoo Doughnut Shop than most I've been to. They have good donuts.... lots of fun colorful flavors to chose from. It sounds crazy and simple but the cake sprinkles are my very favorites. And then the Gay Bars. The shop has seating and it's open 24 hours. But put your wallet/money in your pocket while you're eating your donuts. There were two men in there both times I was in there walking table to table and if they saw 5$ they would say "I need $5 for my daughters diapers, can you please help?" They must have made $95 for those diapers while I ate my donuts. Voodoo doesn't seem to care that they're in there harassing/stealing from their customers. read more

Whenever I'm in a town that has Voodoo Doughnut in town I had to make a stop and enjoy their donuts. Prior to this location I've also visited the store in Denver and I was happy to see and taste the same quality of donuts in both locations! They have a variety of specialty donuts ranging from $1.50-$5.50, depending on the size of the donut. If you're a donut lover you have to stop by and enjoy a treat, you won't be disappointed! read more
Packed (like out the door) around 2:00PM on a Saturday. Pros: -Fun flavors -Really good chocolate icing -Pretty fluffy yeast dough -Really nice staff who gave me a free donut because one was a little broken -Cool art inside -All-gender multi stall restroom Cons: -Dry cake donuts -- $8.75 for 5 donuts (not including the free 6th donut) Ranked: Portland Cream Their version of a Boston cream--yeast donut with chocolate icing filled with Bavarian cream (vanilla pudding). The chocolate icing was great and the dough was soft. Chocolate Ring Soft yeast donut with chocolate icing. Raised Glazed Fluffy glazed yeast donut. Buttermilk Bar Buttermilk cake donut with a sweet glaze. This was not as dry as I expected. Diablos Rex Cake donut with chocolate and vanilla icing. The cake donut was super dry. The icing was good, though! read more
This has been on my Austin food list for a MINUTE so I finally found the time to make it in and see what the hullabaloo was about. Gotta say I got some conflicted feelings but by and large they lean positive. The decor is interesting, particularly the trees with donuts up on the branches. The donuts we not as "magical" as they were described to me but they were rather good, (we got 3). We had a sugar rush that lasted about an hour afterwards but you can see that coming just by looking at it. read more

I was a bit reluctant to try voodoo doughnut as the Portland location was a bit of a letdown. I thought to myself this place is overrated. Nevertheless during my trip in Austin I thought I'd give it another try as I was in Austin and they offer vegan donuts. I ordered the Raspberry Romeo and an original glazed. Both were yeast doughnuts--doughnuts rising in the yeast...rising in the heat... or in this case rising in Austin. The raspberry Romeo was a doughnut that was conspicuously filled with raspberry. I've never been a fig fan of jelly filled doughnuts but today was the day to give it a try. I took a small bite and another as I enjoyed it very much. I also ordered an original glazed and you cannot go wrong with original--am I right or am I right? This location has restored my faith in voodoo doughnuts and look forward to trying the Los Angeles location. They have an abundance of vegan options and literally have all kinds of doughnuts for your hearts desire. If you go early or later in the evening you can bypass the line otherwise there can be a wait. They accept credit card. You can walk there but I suggest you run! I recommend. read more

Can you say YASSSS PLZZZZ?? I may be a bit to old to hang out & party on Austin's 6th anymore but that won't ever stop Steve & I from making sure to visit this Rad donut spot no matter what age we are. The vibe is it. And there is so much to look at and take in besides the main attraction and it's happening pretty much anytime. Now if you love donuts that are unlike any other you have ever had then you have to go to voodoo it's a epic experience and the donuts.... well it's not your normal breakfast food. These are each a dessert in itself TRUST ME! Let me just give you a example of 13 hahah! You HAVE to try the purple one called#1- "Grape Ape" no matter what you will never forget these amazing flavors- including vanilla frosting, grape "dust" & purple sprinkles.... OMG I can't even. The first time we indulged upon one we shard it & I wanted more but had so many to still try. But it's my favorite !!! #2- voodoo doll ( voodoo doll shaped with chocolate frosting , Raspberry filling & a pretzel stuck through it. #3- Voodoo Bubble ( vanilla frosting with bubble gum dust & gum in the midddle #4- raspberry Romeo ( raspberry filled/glazed) #5- coco peppermint cannoli ( out of this world) cannoli filled with coco peppermint light cream & sprinkled with cinnamon. #6 - Portland cream - chocolate frosting, Bavarian cream #7- Strawberry tart ( just like a strawberry pop tart) #8- Mango tango (vanilla frosting, tang dust, mango fruit filling read more
Oh Yummy! We kept passing people on the street with pink boxes! We had to find out what is in that pink box that says, Good Things Come In Pink Boxes! Oh My, Oh My, we discovered Voodoo Doughnuts! We went with the strawberry with no regrets! It was so amazingly delicious! It still puts a smile on my face to think about it. If you're in Austin find Voodoo and GO! read more

Love me some Voodoo donuts! Line was short for a Sunday morning and the music was fun. I've been here many times before and I'm never disappointed. They have so many vegan options it impossible to decide. I've had a different one each time. My non-vegan husband also found an option to try. Total sugar overload and worth it too! read more

Great place, donuts shops aren't what they used to be years ago! And oh, I'm so pleased. This place fits perfectly in the heart of downtown Austin, Texas. It's colorful on the outside. A huge voodoo donut drawing greets you at the door. Greens, yellows and pinks decor await you in the inside. My first time here I was on business in July. I tried the Bacon Maple Bar and The Loop. I could taste the maple in the frosting, the dough was so soft and yummy, and the loop donuts had real fruit loops on top like the cereal. I returned a month later on business. And as you can see, I bought more than a few to take back home to California. 3 Bacon Maple (ate one before taking the picture) 3 Blueberry Cake 1 School Daze 1 Apple Fritter read more

Awesome is all I can say. We were thrilled to see this Portland icon in Austin. We stopped here twice in two days and if we were here longer we would have stopped again. Over our two visits we got the Gaybar, the maple cream and the glazed yeast - all were superb. The Gaybar was the best stuffed with Bavarian cream and a vanilla frosting. I think their yeast donuts are their strong suit - I advise going that route. The only downsides are the prices and the slowpokes in line who despite waiting 10 minutes or more still cannot decide what to order. read more
It's quite popular donut shop in downtown so I decided to give it a try. They have a large selection and all those look pretty at counter. But when I got my donut, they didn't give my any paper to hold it with hand, just simply throw the bare donut in a paper bag, and the donut is cold when I received it. The flavor was fine, I like a little bit sweet and salty in the old dirty bastard. Just don't think it has the quality that I expected from this donut specialized shop. read more

Being new to Austin, I just had to stop by and see/taste what the hype was about. Voodoo Doughnut did not disappoint! Huge assortment with unique flavors. It's in a busy area with lots of foot traffic and yes, sometimes the line does wrap around and spill onto the sidewalk. However, if you have a sweet tooth and need a doughnut fix - it's definitely worth the visit. Highly recommended. read more

Ask the Community - Voodoo Doughnut
Are you open for business?
Yes! We are currently open everyday from noon to midnight.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, unless they say otherwise. If they allow the homeless to sleep at the tables then I dont see why they would turn away a Pup.
Around how much does it cost to do custom donuts and is there a minimum you have to order?
I've heard they have a 10 dollar bucket filled with donuts! Is this only at certain times? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Buckets are usually available in the morning from 6-7 am Monday - Wednesday and sometimes on other days (depends how busy it was after midnight).…
