My husband liked his beer, so at least one of us had a good time. Unfortunately, the service and food were... well, let's just say the beer was the star of the show for a reason. Voodoo Brewery really wants you to use your phone for everything -- reading the menu, ordering, paying, probably doing your taxes if you dig deep enough. We left our phone in the car, so they handed us print menus with the same energy as someone handing you a map to Atlantis. "These aren't accurate," they warned. It explained the items or prices crossed out with a Sharpie. Great start. The beer list was on chalkboards, which actually worked fine. The food menu was classic pub stuff: fried, fried, and fried again, with a couple salads thrown in so they can say they have "options." My husband ordered the house salad with grilled shrimp added for an additional charge. It was tiny, plain, and basically the salad equivalent of a shrug. Romaine, cherry tomatoes, red onion -- nothing wrong with it, but nothing right enough to justify the price either. I ordered the chicken quesadilla, which took forever even though it was a quiet Monday lunch and the place was emptier than a mall on Christmas Eve. When it finally arrived, it was deep‑fried. A deep‑fried quesadilla. I've eaten a lot of quesadillas in my life, and not once have I thought, "You know what this needs? A dunk in the fryer." It looked greasy, tasted greasy, and the chicken inside was bland and cut into giant chunks like someone got tired halfway through chopping. I ate one wedge, took the rest home, and later tossed it because it gave me heartburn. The sour cream was runny, and the pico was basically red onion with a supporting cast of pale tomatoes. Onions in pico should be finely chopped or even minced, but this wasn't so all I tasted was onion. Service didn't help the situation. Our server was friendly enough, but the staff seemed more into chatting with each other than paying attention to customers. My husband ordered a beer from a guy who seemed like the manager, and then another employee came over asking if we'd ordered drinks. When he said yes, she said she never got the order. The place was practically empty (just one table of two), so the confusion was... impressive. Bottom line: go to Voodoo Brewery for the beer and the fun evening stuff like live music and trivia. Do not go expecting a great meal or attentive service. And for the love of all things hoppy, BRING YOUR PHONE -- the whole system runs like self‑checkout for restaurants. read more

The ambiance was great and the staff were friendly. My bf and I waited a while for our food, which was surprising since there wasn't a lot of guests when we were there. There is a digital and physical menu and there are some discrepancies between the two. The food was okay. My bf got the Foodoo burger and that was really good! Would definitely recommend. However the quesadilla I got was very bland. I'd willingly pay another $1-3for sour cream,guac, and pico to come with the entree. We also got a pretzel with pub cheese. The cheese just tasted like regular cheese. No beer taste. The fried pickles are spears and not chips so be warned. All the fried foods were overly salty. And the breading on the pickles was not evenly cooked. Would definitely have preferred pickle chips. Overall the food was okay, just depends on what you get, but when appetizers are roughly the same price as entrees it was pretty underwhelming. We didn't get any alcohol so we can't speak to the drinks. I would come back to this place for a burger and a beer and give it one last try. read more

I tend to only leave positive reviews. I can't let a soul eat here. The food was absolutely trash. Mussels came out cold. The burgers and fries seem previously frozen. The shrimp were drizzled with some sort of horrendous sauce. The beer was just slightly okay. Tried a couple of flights without finding a keeper. I live independent breweries. It's a little pricey, but I like their drinks and the vibe inside. Over a few visits I've tried one of their sour beers and a few cocktails. I'm a big fan of breweries that offer drinks other than beer, and they do a nice job with their cocktails. Nice selection of food/apps too! read more
