I overheard him talking with a helpless customer who was frantically in need of those weird saucer shaped nut butter and jam sandwiches. In her moment of need his patience and grounded attitude clearly set her straight and allowed her to regain her composure (I was very impressed). What I see in that young man is much more than another employee of the Albertsons corporation. I see an aged soul looking to be a vessel of release for these wandering patrons, a guiding beam of light cutting through the thick shades of darkness. I ordered chicken for 12:30. On a tight schedule, I came in at 12:35. They had forgotten. Not ready. It happened that the event changed time. I reordered for 4:30. Standing here at 5:00 I am told it will be 10 more minutes. "Sorry about that but we were busy, so we couldn't get to it until after 4:30". I do NOT recommend this place. They are not reliable. This is my regular grocery store. Just want to post a reminder to add your phone number before scanning groceries, whether you are in self check-out or a Vons employee is scanning them for you. Keep an eye out for the discounts you have coming because you already clipped your deals in the app. If for some reason you did not check and later realized your discounts weren't taken, no problem. Seems very much like a nor-cal, Safeway brand with the red, black and yellow labels on the shelves, prices on the tea were on the steeper end and totally worth it! Went to fill gas at Vons, attendant was the rudest young man I have ever met! Pump said 'see attendant', went to kiosk, opened door attendant grabbed the door, yelled in my face, "NO" like I was a dog and slammed it. Then continued to yell on intercom "MOVE TO OTHER PUMP!" if it was about to explode I would understand, but there was absolutely no urgency. Such an impolite, unnecessarily unkind person. The dude and I come to Vons every so often and mostly to buy ice cream as we feel like they have the most selection. Also, this was the first place we saw the Snoop Dogg wine. Any who, now that I am working for Shipt and Instacart as much side hussle on 4/11/21 I came here recently. Each time I come in staff is very helpful to help find items or products for me as for Shipt they don't give you the aisle number however Instacart does but sometimes aisle numbers are not always updated to reflect on the App. Anywho, Vons has always been a very expensive store and personally only come here for select items as we can get them for cheap elsewhere especially the same brands! It is always clean and organized and when they do have sales it's totally worth it. They have fresh produce and hygiene products. Around the beginning of the pandemic they were always cleaned out of essential items but they longer have that problem and I'm not sure if they still have limits on certain items. Staff wears face mask and they have a self check out as well which is nice. Anywho, the plaza that this Vons is on is shared with other unique stores and a Dutch Bros. This location has their own Starbucks too! Which is nice. The dude and I have gotten drinks here before. I'm sure I'll be coming back more often for work and ice cream for myself xD read more

I've been shopping here for about 15 years. It's my primary place for getting groceries. They have most of what I need, except for when I'm looking to make some super authentic ethnic food. The employees are polite and friendly. On the rare occasion that I need help, they are eager to provide assistance. On the even rarer occasion that I spill something checking out, they laugh it off without making me feel like an idiot. I like the fact that they continue to make improvements. Before the pandemic they installed an olive bar. They've adjusted it due to COVID. I swear that five years ago they only had like three meats available at the deli. Now they have at least ten. Produce is consistently good. A few times I have brought home expired dairy items. Something to be aware of. Prices seem to be good too. It's smart to take advantage of their sales and use the Vons app to add deals to capitalize on the gas discount. read more

Normally our go to neighborhood grocery store, but they have recently began allowing pets in the store (clearly not service animals who would have a legitimate reason to be there). This poses a cleanliness issue for food items sold. We will be shopping elsewhere. read more

The service was absolutely horrible. African American gentlemen telling his customers that he's off at 12:00 not 12:01 or 12:02 is rude! You're in the service business it happens I know firsthand because I'm in the service industry as well. All I told the man was are you ready to start your night and he started complaining. He seemed to be management by the way he was dressed so it shouldn't be a surprise if you have stragglers last minute. Granted I thought they closed at 1:00 on the weekends or else I wouldn't have went in the last 10 mins of it being opened. But still shouldn't speak to customers like that. This Vons tends to be well stocked, clean, with fresh produce and meats. I rarely find items out of code (compared to other stores and locations), and can usually find a clerk to help if I need assistance finding something. One thing I like about this particular store is that the employees tend to be friendly and courteous (not inconvenienced by the customer's presence), whether it is the beginning of the day, during the afternoon rush, or the day before a major food holiday. I really hope management treats its employees well, because they greatly deserve it. I'm a fan of Vons Club coupons and if I plan my trip in advance (avoid impulse buys), I can save a lot compared to the competitors across the street. As long as the quality of the fresh items remains good, and the prices remain fair, I'll stay a regular customer. read more

The Vons by my house closed a few years back, so I had started doing my grocery shopping at other stores in the area. I searched online for a specific kind of bread, Base Culture original keto bread, and found that Vons in Clovis carried it. So, road trip it was. Lol. I got to the store, found what I was looking for and just when I was going to check out, it was announced they had a global computer problem and could only accept cash. Great! I didn't have any cash with me and my bank was miles away. I wandered around the store for about 15 minutes (and found Jenny-o turkey bacon on sale, 2 for $6!) then meandered back to the registers. The lines were loooong. But they were accepting credit cards again. I looked over and saw the self checkout area had registers available, so I went over there and checked out right away. They let me return it because I had proof that they sold it after the expiration date. I went into this Vons as I have many times before for flowers for Administrative Assistant Day. The lady behind the florist counter was soo rude! She kept repeating herself that she was going to "have to charge me double the price of the flowers" to create a floral arrangement if I bought the vase and flowers separately..as if I would appear or could not afford it!! I agreed several times and she sighed heavily and then looked at her watch, it was 1000 am, not like it was lunch time people. A positive on Checkout staff always friendly and helpful with the exception of the DELI area always appears to be short staffed and an appearance and attitude by staff I'm here but really not interested in helping you. we recently left the store after waiting 10 minutes for assistance.And when someone finally appeared and the question was did you want something nope just decided to stand at the counter and stare at the cheese. We walked out not to return to the Deli area for sure. Also the store could use a good cleaning inside and out and possibly decongest the isles a bit so you can at least get by a fellow shopper in the same isle. Anything I'm looking for, whether it's matzo cracker or fish heads for stock, free range chicken, organic fruit and veggies (more than you even knew existed); star fruit and dragon fruit. Shall I go on? One specialty item after another. This is why they charge the big bucks. Excellent service and anything you can imagine you can find... or ask and they'll get it for you. Now, you may think that this place is over priced (which it can get pricy) but if you sign up for the Von's Club and get their Club Card, you get deep discounts. I've actually saved money shopping here as opposed to buying my items at discount stores. I don't advise buying veggies here, because they are over priced and discounts are few and far between but if you don't want to go shopping all over this is a good place to pick up organic veggies. I love the florist area. They have someone there who can make you a flower arrangement or advise you. They offer a lot of choices and their prices are mild compared to going to a florist shop. I love to pick up a bunch of flowers for the house and arrange them. It's pure Zen time. I love to grab a Starbucks and walk along the neat and organized rows of products while I envision what culinary masterpieces I'll make. I like that they have more than one or two ethnic food areas. I really appreciate that they have a section where you can buy foods for Jewish Holidays or every day. I'm not Jewish but I think I was in another life. :) I could go on and on about Von's because it's just a great store and their staff are awesome. First time at the vons at fowler and herndon. Was happy to see the chicken wings were on $5 special I get the wings home and they're burnt. They shouldn't have sold the wings. Apparently the fire was too high when they were cooking. It's a shame that this store would put something as inadequate as burnt chicken wings. This won't happen to me again. read more

That being said today's negative review is because it's 7am, No attendant, No receipt paper in machines, and pumps are going through some software issues I think (freezing). I cannot say enough good things about this store. I am shocked that their star rating isn't higher but then I read some of the reviews and I'm just like "ok lettuce head. You were clearly having a bad day." They have the nicest people working for them, mainly the cashiers and managers (I wish I knew all their names). I left my iPhone once in the shopping cart and they had it for me. My daughter loves getting a ballon from the floral department. They are seriously the nicest. It is definitely more expensive than Food For Less and those types of places but I don't mind paying a little extra for the great quality. I work in customer service as well and this cashier does not even know how to say hello or thank you. She just hands you the receipt with no expression. Even on my worst day I wouldn't act like that. This Von's is always clean and the employees are friendly and helpful. If I ever have questions there is always someone close to help out. The store is laid out great and never feels too cramped. Even though the parking lot always seems busy the store doesn't seem to chaotic. There are closer grocery stores to where we live, but I enjoy the product selection, store lay out, and friendly employees at this Von's so I tend to keep going there. Deli Department is horrible. They work at a very slow pace and dont care that there is a line of people, half who are probably on lunch break. One person helping while the other deli work slowly makes her way to the front to help the next person. They are never friendly and dont smile or make eye contact. If you're going to be purposely slow you can at least be friendly and make conversation. Rude. read more
