After inadvertently leaving my purse at the counter before taking off on a trip, care was taken by management to make sure it got back to its rightful owner, and being flexible enough for arrangements to be made for a third party to retrieve it for me, with proper id etc. I have some memory issues which increases when I get anxiety, and Mgr. Michele was calm & patient in asking questions to confirm my identity. When I had trouble focusing to respond as to the contents, thinking only about 2 small medical devices in it and failed to even think about the obvious amount of cash that was so visible in it, she calmly reworded her questions patiently. So, not only did I purchase some beautiful sweet fresh fruits in the store for my trip, but I was treated with smiles and kindness before and after I left my purse in Vons. Your cashier Kylie, or Kaylee was having a personal conversation with the guy who was bagging groceries and she completely ignored the customers in line that she was helping until he walked away. I work in retail customer service, and that would never be acceptable. People choose to come to Vons for good customer service and could go elsewhere for a lot cheaper. Cashiers need to be mindful of who's in front of them instead of carrying on a personal conversation in front of customers. read more

I frequently shop at Vons however this review is for the Vons Gas Station on Herndon and Fowler and the professionalism they showed when an angry man was talking down to them while he was paying for his gas. The man was rude and swearing, the attendants handled him with class. Incident occurred 10/8/25 @ approx 1050. The gas is great too, my truck loves it! read more

Meat, seafood and many other selections -- amazing. The produce offerings seem hit and miss. At $2.00 a piece, both avocados we purchased -- terrible -- as seen in the photo below. Elsewhere we can find some individual avocados for $1.25. One would think that with food prices generally higher than several area grocery stores, the fruit and veggies would be among the best. Yet, not so. Conclusion: It's best to shop around and head for a variety of stores (if possible) where you know the quality and price are the freshest. read more

The 2 people in the deli are faster than the 4 in the pharmacy. And I don't have to make an appointment with the deli only to wait 45+ minutes. Made an appointment two weeks ago, filled out paperwork online. Showed up 10 minutes prior to my appointment, signed off on paperwork, insurance was already on file. Told to go wait. Gentleman walk-up turned in paperwork after me. Same individual received their vaccination before me. Unsure how it takes a pharmacist, technician, cashier/clerk, and a nurse that long - the Covid vaccine is prefilled. And priority isn't given to people who make appointments - whats even the purpose then? Useless to waste your time beforehand, at least you'll have something to do while they waste your time on-site. My go to store for it's convenient location and friendly staff. All my family's prescriptions go through their pharmacy and have never had a problem with refills or getting my questions on scripts answered. Flower shop is awesome with great selection. Yes, lower prices can be found elsewhere, but selection, shorter lines, and customer service justify the small small mark up. read more

I have been coming to this Vons for over 3 years now since I live just down the street from the store. For the most part, the employees are friendly and helpful. However, Jeannine and Lisa (at self-checkout) are always welcoming, friendly, kind, helpful, and upbeat. They always have a warm smile and easy-going demeanor so it is always a pleasure to see them because they make my shopping experience so much more enjoyable. World Series was on so the place was dead. Perfect! I loved it. But, I am a fan of Vons anyways. Not the cheapest but at least they offer a rewards card and I can save a bit that way and get quality. I was hungry so overshopped without a cart (despise carts) or a basket. Needless to say, my items were stacked high in my arms and it was precarious! (Glass!) A staffer saw me and opened a register for me right away. A cool, unexpected gesture. The store was clean and easy to navigate despite me not having been there before. Even their clearance rack was at the back in the same place as my usual Vons. I would be happy to return here. I liked Clovis a lot! Lots of lot parking. read more

Shame on you vons. 4 times now I come shopping after 8:00 p.m. And I watch minors steal alcohol and run out the side door and you do nothing to stop it. Tonight I watched 3 young high school boys walk out your front doors with 4 bottles of alcohol at least $20 each. I came here as an Instacart shopper. I needed something from the deli counter and when I told the lady working I was looking for a specific item and couldn't locate it, she told me in a rude, unfriendly manner "it's right behind you, I'm staring right at it". I also watched the same lady literally keep walking by and making no eye contact as another customer was attempting to ask a question. Gave me a bad vibe. The store itself is nice, so that's the redeeming factor. read more

long story short, got the buy 2 get 2 free sodas. I got some along with my mom. my mom's memory is not that good so I pay for mine and then they ring up hers. they asked her for a phone number so I gave them mine it rang up all regular price so I questioned the cashier. she says that sale doesn't start until Friday this was last Wednesday. I said then why are there signs up? she says I don't know but it doesn't start until Friday. I had my mom stand off to the side and I went back to look at the sign. it said prices good thru Thursday. I go back and find a manager. he looks at the reviper as I am telling him what the cashier told me and the prices in the back. he says you can't use the same phone number so I say oh ok then can we void it and put her number in? he says too late and walks off. total jerk with my 82 year old mother standing there. that will be the last time I take her or myself to that place. horrible customer service from a manager! read more

Dogs! This location allows dogs to be brought into the grocery store. I'm all for service dogs, or even therapy dogs If that is a real thing. The dog in question was a black poodle that didn't have a little vest on and was being held by the owner. I get most of the food is already canned, and or sealed; however, there is open contact to food in the deli and bakery. This needs to be stopped. Von's is regulating people coming in with/without masks, but allowing dogs to come in where we buy our food? Will be posting this in other sites, and or report it it to the FDA. Von's is just great! IF you know how to shop. They have many gourmet items that you can't find at discount stores. It's always clean and organized and I love the helpful counter. You can buy money orders and sometimes cash certain checks, which is convenient if you can't make it to the bank. Saves you gas and time! The Von's I usually go to has a bakery, deli, seafood counter and a really good butcher area and has a Starbucks inside! It also has a florist! I love Von's. When I'm making something that needs a specialty item, I can always find it at the Von's. I really like the deli. You can buy chicken, fried and roasted, various soups and those bread bowls that everyone loves. I just can't say enough. It's a one-stop shop! I can't say this store has it all but it does sport the nice soup station and deli. If you like matzo ball soup, you will find everything you need here for sure. read more

I live 5 min away and I've been shopping here for about 4 years . I know the prices are a little more than some stores but the store is always clean , the produce is always organized and overall some areas are not as stocked as others! I know at times the deli is packed with people I don't mind waiting cause I'm buying good quality food . The cashiers always ask did I find everything ok , I do like that. The only negative thing I would say about the store is I really hate bagging my own groceries. When it gets busy the front clerks ask for help and there's always other cashiers that come and help. And I know you have young kids that start as cashiers and they have to go outside to get the shopping carts and clean up and do stock and whatever the store needs sweep etc. but I do believe that they're short staffed and they could hire a lot more younger people to do the bagging this has been ongoing for years and I get it you have to be profitable for a company and maybe you can't have so many people working at one time I get it but what the store does lack is baggers . I'm still living a five star review because I had a good experience pretty much every time I go there but after I've been there for about 25 minutes 30 minutes shopping I don't want to wait for a bagger to come to the cashier so I always go and bag my own groceries. Would never shop at this store again. The store is set up for the Coronavirus and you can only go down each aisle a certain way. I was confronted by three young men coming towards me an I mentioned to them that there is a reason they have arrows on the ground stating which way to go. Well 15 mins later I run in to the same three young men and I walked by and they mouthed off saying your going the wrong way. I confronted them and then another customer came over to have my back to say they are putting people at risk. Two store employees came up to us and I asked one to get the store manager who never came and the young lady approached the three young men to tell them what I already had told them and then I heard them laughing saying F him. I called ahead to make sure they had it, and the meat employee stated I could come in any time, and they would have one. He took my name. When I came in, they didn't have it for me. The employee on that day, Sunday, Oct 16, said he would cut me one now. a short time later they gave me my roast. I checked the price, but didn't read what it was. When I got home, I marinated it, and as I was throwing out the package, I noted it was labeled "round roast". At this point it was in the marinade. I really like Von's I just don't like the prices. Sometimes you can make out well with the Von's Club, but regular prices tend to sting a bit. Customer service here is top notch, but I don't think it justifies the prices. Super glad this one didn't close when the other did. Very nice convent to have a store like this within a mile from me. Do my big shopping at other places but for the forgotten stuff or last minute pick ups this place is perfect. Of course the prices are going to be a little higher than normal because of what your getting, but deals can definitely be found and 5 dollar Friday is a steal sometimes. Today was one of the best days we have had in the 14 years we have visited this Vons. Our daughter loves to visit their bakery for their free cookies, but today no cookies. It was even better she got a sprinkle donut. Then at check out we were cut off by a woman while we were waiting in line. But no worries the store manager opened another check-out for us and on top of that he gave us an additional discount because he felt our total was "too much". We have always enjoyed Vons but now it is even better. May God continue to bless them and they continue to remain open. read more

Yep, it is just a grocery store... ..and there isn't a ton that makes up for that fact. There is one old lady cashier..and I know old lady cashiers are predisposed to bitchiness, but this lady takes the cake..and then, she'll overcharge you for it. I've had at least two instances where I've corrected her about a price and instead of fixing it, she'll hand off my food to another cashier and tell them to put it back, because I don't want it. It would be great if we were in a movie..and she was being portrayed by Betty White and Betty told me to stuff my caflopahuesens and stop complaining about a few pennies, but Betty White she's not. I know that it is probably wrong to dock them a whole two stars just for cranky old lady, but she's the thing I remember most about my visits here. I do know I've had some great staff members along the ride, but I don't quite remember what they look like, or what they said. Her? I'll remember her until I'm as old as she is. read more

Not my favorite grocery store but they do have some very good deals on: whole seedless watermelon about $3.89 for the month of May. This is cheeper than Walmart or Costco. This location has the worst deli staff. Never smiling when no customers are around. I went today to get some deli salad. There were 2 employees & I didn't get acknowledged for 2 minutes.
