Store has good stuff, but I've had two customer service experiences that really turned me off, so I'm leaving a one-star review. Tonight I didn't have a quarter for a cart. I went in for one thing and ended up with a bunch of items, including a 10 lb bag of potatoes. I politely asked the cashier if I could borrow the cart at the front to take everything to my car and return it right away (this has never been an issue before). He replied with, "Can you just put everything together and take it?" Basically expecting me to carry two bags, a box of items, and a 10 lb bag of potatoes to my car with no cart. Not helpful, not friendly, and totally unnecessary. Also, on a previous visit I bought a bottle of coffee creamer with the foil safety seal still intact, and when I opened it at home it had mold in it. I emailed customer service about it and never received a response. I want to like this place because the store itself is great, but the customer service has been disappointing. read more

I love Aldi! For those who have never been, ya gotta go! It's well stocked, has all the basics, and yummy treats too...and saying its a great value is an understatement! I save so much shopping here for the family on things such as fruits, veggies, packaged treats, ice cream, meats, cheeses- the kids love to come and pick out snacks and ingredients for their meals! And the Aldi Finds- great random gift ideas, household items, toys, seasonal- just plain fun to explore! My absolute faves, seriously a fraction of the cost anywhere else, are assortments of hummus, specialty crackers, dark chocolate, nuts, berries...can you feel a charcuterie coming on? They also carry gluten free and vegan options too of items, and prices again, reasonable! If you plan to use a cart, just bring your quarter to unlock, and you will get it back when returned. The store itself is always clean, and the workers kind. They scan quickly, and you bag your own items. It is amazing how full my cart gets with spending honestly a fraction of what I would any other nearby grocery store. Can you tell- I do love Aldi! I know a lot of people here in town don't get this store but guys if you are looking for a store that can have great sales and some staples that are cheap then look no further! They do limit the amount of how many of the sale items you can get. They also will have a sale and once it's gone it's gone even if that means it's been a day. This store is also not a place for great customer service it's really about you coming and getting your cheap groceries. They keep their costs down by not having a lot of employees and there is usually only one checker at a time which isn't always fun. Please don't forget your quarter !! If you want a cart you will need this . It's to get you to bring your own cart back cause they don't have employees that go collect them later like other stores. My dad loves ALDIs but ALDIs was odd to me. Maybe it was the time of day I visited, but the store was super quiet, like oddly quiet. There were people in the store and in line at the checkout, but it was just quiet- no music, I couldn't find any employees walking around. It wasn't a typical grocery trip for me, as I came specifically for some puffed pita chips and a cauliflower dip that my parents had recently purchased, that I really enjoyed. I found the pita chips right away, I also grabbed some fruit and some salt and pepper cashews. They do have a great selection of nuts. Then I just walked around the perimeter of the store looking for the cauliflower dip. The perimeter of the store is where all the refrigerated items are. Then there is a little freezer section near the cash registers on the west side of the store. Lots of options for breads, milk, creamers, cheeses, etc. They also had what seemed to be some good options for meat and wine. I didn't go through the aisles, but I did spot a small Hispanic section and grabbed some ground cumin. I got to the checkout stand, and the checker wasn't very friendly, didn't say anything to me and answered his phone while he was scanning my items. Which is when I realized they don't have an area to bag. So he put down his phone, and had to bring around another cart to hold my reusable bag and bag my items. Maybe this isn't such a big deal but it just seems weird to me. Overall, I'm sure this place has some different fun finds, and is convenient for folks in the area, like my dad, but It doesn't have me convinced to return too often. read more

Went here last week with my husband with high expectations and left extremely disappointed. A good amount of the strawberries had mold on them, their stock on everything was scarce, prices were not as low as expected (compared to winco such as seasonings, oils, meats). The dude and I came to Aldi about two weeks ago as we have been hearing so much about this place and I personally hear about this place on my Pandora so we thought to give them a try! In order to get a basket you need a quarter which is odd to me...I don't understand the concept of it at all! You do get your quarter back when you return the basket. The store is not too big but not small either. We really didn't see staff much as they were mostly sitting down at the check out. They do have unique items here which we found Karma water which is a probiotic water, we got a flavor of each and all of them were very tasty! The dude and I ended up getting lamb chops which it was delicious when he grilled it on the grill. He also got a steak which he said was good quality. We found low calorie bread about 45 calories per slice which is not bad at all! Our checker lady was the only interaction we had and she was a little rude but other than that we had a great experience! I may only come back for the probiotic water only. Possibly I can find it elsewhere. Glad to experience it! read more

I am really surprised but all the low stars for this store. It's a German store but I noticed a lot of Canadian items. I am hoping Canada has better FDA requirements than the US does as I did see several packages stating no hormones, no nitrates and no GMO. This place reminds me of Trader Joe's only sometimes you'll see a brand name you recognize. A lot of the packaging will look similar to a US brand you would recognize. For example I saw a bottle of hot sauce that was a straight up clone of Frank's Hot Sauce only it was called Burren's. This place is great for Keto dieter's (minus the fact the zero carb bread won't be in stock until Jan. 2020). I found so many already prepared meats that were Keto friendly. The prices weren't bad. I would say the prices are pretty close to trader joe shopping. The store is very clean, very organized, the staff is friendly and the lines aren't long. Even other shoppers were a lot more friendly here. Things you will need to shop here: #1 Yes, you need a quarter for shopping cart dispensing but this saves on them having to use a clerk to go out collecting shopping carts. You get your quarter back when you return your cart. I saw plenty of customers paying it forward and giving their cart with quarter-in to a total stranger. #2 grocery bags When you check out, the clerk loads your groceries from the conveyor belt back into your cart. After you pay for your groceries, there are empty counters by the windows in which you can bag your groceries on. I am not sure why people are complaining about this since this is pretty much practiced at any self checkout at Target, Walmart, WinCo, FoodCo and Food Max. If you want your groceries bagged, then you pretty much have to shop at the more expensive grocery shops like SaveMart and Vons. (Does anyone even shop at those places anymore??) A great supermarket with good bang for your buck! 10/10 would return again. The chips are also unique and interesting.

Don't get me wrong I love many things about Aldi's however let me start with my pet peeve on the topic of health. Almost all their dairy products cottage cheese, creamer , yogurts ,puddings even their flan is loaded with carrageenan which causes inflammation even cause: colon cancer, ulcers among a host of digestive issues.. Their sister store Trader Joe's doesn't have carrageenan in anything that I looked at I'm miffed. Aldis prices and quality on other items in the rest of the store are all very good for the most part they do have some uncured hot dogs that make you think that they are healthy but are loaded with corn syrup. This is definitely not the place you shop if you are health concious... shop at Trader Joe's or Sprouts but as far as prices go they are wonderful. . As far as produce and other products they don't have a huge selection but what they have is very good. read more

My fiance and I was in the area and wanted to check this place out. Didn't expect to buy and spend as much as we did but we were so glad and pleased with the products we bought. I love the concept of the shopping carts people are almost forced to return the shopping carts if they want their quarters back lol. They complied to social distancing and they had hand sanitizer as you enter. The store was clean and this place was actually smaller than what I had imagined it to be. The products were interesting almost hard to explain they were almost limited with selections the prices were also affordable. My fiance is a meat connoisseur and we were delighted to see a nice meat selection they were fresh and tender and happy to see they were high quality and packaged beautifully for the price and they aren't injected with hormone and GMO. We bought a few steaks and chicken and cooked it, it was AMAZING very tender and full of flavor one of the better meats we've ever purchased and cooked for a great price if not better. The produce section was little disappointing because it was very limited but can't complain about the price. I found my new favorite cold brew coffee for the price of under $3!!! They also have an abundance of wine selections. They also sell random items such as patio tables, portable a/c and other household and bedding items for a bargained priced. I go to Aldi's every so often when I want a casual grocery shopping experience with unique food finds, good prices, and low crowds. My last venture was a few days ago, and once again I had a good experience (in fact, my only bad experience was mid-Pandemic and an employee followed me around the store harassing me because I wasn't wearing my mask properly. I ended up leaving my groceries in the aisle and walking out because I was tired of being hassled for how I wore my mask).... On my menu this week was bell pepper nachos with the works. And Aldi's hooked me up. I was also able to find a great pre-made guacamole and some of the best tortilla chips I have had from a grocer. It's a store I love to go to because I am always able to find new favorites at great prices! read more

I like Aldi, and the people on here who don't, don't seem to know what to expect, versus a regular grocery store. If Aldi had done a little more outreach to the community before opening here, they might have had a better reception, and they might have targeted the customers who would really like them. Here is what to expect from Aldi. If you like these things, shop there! If you don't, stay away! :) 1. You pay a quarter to use a cart, and then you get the quarter back at the end when you put the cart away. It's like Food Maxx in the old days. 2. You will find 99% "store brands" and not name brands throughout the store. You'll find their own weird brand of green beans, and not, you know, Del Monte. But those green beans will cost a lot less. My daughter thinks their knock-off Takis ("Taquitos") are better than the real Takis. (They do have a _few_ name brand items, including, I think, Tide, Coke, and Cheerios.) 3. There's not a lot of selection, again, because there aren't a lot of brands. If you need Takis brand Takis and Del Monte green beans, you'll hate Aldi. If you buy store brands anyway, you'll be happy. 4. Because of less selection, the store is a lot smaller. Personally I like this. I get done quicker, and they have all the basics but they might not have some things you need. I often have to go to multiple grocery stores anyway, so I don't mind. 5. Their sales are good so the items go fast. If they have butter at a ridiculously low price with a limit of 6 per person, by the time you get there, it might be gone. I agree that's frustrating but that won't cause me to dislike the store, or not to shop there. 6. A few of their items seem to have a cult following (peanut butter cups that people say are better than Reese's; brioche rolls; and frozen breaded chicken patties that people say taste just like Chick Fil A). Those items, too, are often out of stock and hard to find. Oh well. That's just how it is. 7. There's one weird aisle with random things, like lamps or dog sweaters. It's a fun hit or miss experience. If that's not your thing, skip that aisle. 8. Whatever you buy there, you'll be saving money.I usually shop sales or Food Maxx, and this is cheaper. And quicker. Obviously Food Maxx has more selection. And, fancier groceries like The Market (expensive but I like to support local businesses) are better for things like specialty ingredients, fresh local produce, and great customer service. 9. Ah yes, customer service. They don't have bags and they don't bag your groceries. Bring your own. Load your car, then put away your cart and get your quarter back. I hope this review helps you decide whether Aldi will be a good place for you to shop. It's a love it or hate it kind of place. PS Aldi has a huge fan base so there are online groups dedicated to shopping there, comparing notes about the products, talking about what's in stock where, and what the good sales are. It was my first visit here and when I went to go get a shopping cart I noticed you needed a quarter. With my luck I didn't have one but I noticed someone actually left their cart and quarter for someone so thank you who ever that was. This place reminded me a lot of grocery outlet with their selection. They didn't have much and I thought it was weird they had an aisle of random furniture and nic-Nacs like you would find in the seasonal aisles at CVS. What I did like was their meat section. My Husband got so excited when he found out there's Aldi near us- 3 hours away! Drove that 3 hours but disappointed because they didn't have much German deli meat. They only have 2 type of sausages available and some frozen pretzels- not special. Got some of their cranberry almond chicken salad and to find out it was expired when we got home! I have a large family. They have great prices. But this doesn't help me. Why? Because you can only get 3 packs of eggs, 2 packs of meat on sale, 2 of fruits or veggies on sale. If I'm paying for it, why does it matter how many I get? That stinks. It's a nice store if you need to run and pick up a gallon of milk, bread or baking supplies. All well priced. Great prices at ALDI for off the the wall brands. We have a few favorites there now. The frozen stir fry veggies and the chicken Alfredo are quick, easy and tasty. Milk is super cheap! From time to time we find Whalburger hamburger patties really reasonable and they are so good! Less than half the price of the same item at Savemart. Yes, I'm a sucker for aisle of shame, or whatever people call it. (Sale items in the weekly ad). I got a zero gravity chair for just $49.99 and a cool car organizer for $12.99. Don't wait until the end of the week, though, or stuff will likely be gone. I don't think they get many of each advertised item. Usually only one checker, but the line goes fast. Nice staff. Don't forget to bring a quarter to unlock a grocery cart if you need one. Return it to the cart area and you'll get your quarter back. read more

Some amazing prices on a diverse selection of products. Things you're not gonna find other places. I'm not into overly packaged processed stuff, but things like kidney beans garbanzo beans and Northern beans are like only $.48 a can. I love eating 3-4 or more bean salads.. The store is wonderfully quiet with no annoying music. It's modern spacious with wide isles and even the parking lot spaces are wide... My guess is that there's always going to be a cart in the parking lot that you could just walk right in with and save a quarter. Or, you could put it back in and take the quarter back that somebody didn't bother to do themselves. Some of the breads and crackers looked to be of a really good quality and if I ate more of it I might pick some up. All the benefits of being single without any of the expenses you would incur otherwise... anyway most people would be really happy with what's here and the pricing so go check it out! -G read more

Wow, I guess you have to know what to expect before you shop at Aldi. Think of it as a smaller version of Smart & Final... but European. You'll need a quarter to retrieve a cart; but you'll get it back when you return the cart. It's pretty simple. This store is brand new and still looks and smells it. I had a good wander around looking for European treats I've been missing; but there's plenty of typical American supermarket fare here too. All the typical stuff you'd need like cereals, condiments, drinks, are all very much recognisable. There are brands you'll recognize and, beside them, Aldi's generic brands that are half the price and usually at least almost as good. Some things I was pleased to see here that I struggle to find at American supermarkets: - some nicer pre-packaged breads - good table crackers (to eat with cheese) - lots of fresh cheeses like brie, goats cheese (both with various added flavors), fresh pizzas - Knopper chocolate wafers, chocolate biscuits, and truffles - German Christmas treats like lebkuchen (ginger cookies), Gluhwein (mulled wine), chocolate coins, etc. - frozen Atlantic sea bass fillets. I can usually find some versions of these crackers and sweets at World Market, but most of them were half the price here at Aldi. As well as groceries they have kitchenware, a small selection of clothing (mostly socks and a few basics), and lots of household things you might need like air purifiers and humidifiers, shower caddies, an office chair, car essentials. Lots of little things like that. The post-checkout is a little inconvenient. I've never seen tills without a packing area before. What they're doing is keeping a second cart there and putting your stuff directly into it, then taking the cart you're already using from you. As Kat L pointed out, this makes it easier to just take everything to your car and pack it there, but it is a bit of a faff. read more

Finally, German value store opened in Fresno. Good selection of very well priced items which you need on a daily basis. Super clean. You need to deposit .25 cents to get a shopping cart which will be reimbursed when you return it to the station. It's a common practice in Europe. People there are more cultured and disciplined. Overall it's a great addition to Walmart. It's less busy. In a nicer part of town. The produce I think has the best value. Huge frozen pizza section and wines for $2.60 per bottle. It lacks the refinement of Trader Joe. Less quality products are sold here and little to none organic section. read more

I don't know why this store has negative reviews, while I love this store I can see why people might not at first. Hopefully I can break it down for you. This is not your usual grocery store. It's a refunded .25 cent for a cart. They do not bag your items for you. They do not carry a lot of name brands. They also do not have a rain check program, so if you see a good deal and it's not on the shelf then sorry you lucked out. Try again. HOWEVER the way to shop at this store is the same way you would at grocery outlet or another discount store. Come here first and buy what you need and then follow up at another store to get items Aldis might not have this week. Also, the items you might find this week might not be the same next week. Be warned. I have shopped this store for many years in Texas and same thing. My biggest savings are meat and produce personally. As with any store you really need to do some research, if you're driving from across town to buy something that's .25 cents cheaper but your spending .50 cents more in gas then is it worth it? Shop smart and this store will help you. I think if you know how to use the store for your benefit then you will love it! It will save you money and you will be happy saving money. Big TIP: I don't bother taking bags inside. I take my cart and head directly to my car and then bag there. Much easier than waiting to bag at the counter. Off the bat, this store is soooo clean and tidy. It's very organize and doesn't look like your traditional grocery store. They sell fresh produce and the price is slightly lower than other stores. It's quite a nice store. I saw some imported treats that looked like they were from Europe in the store. Definitely going to get some next time. They also sell other home items as well like tables and chairs. I even saw comforters that were sold at a very affordable price. They have restrooms inside the store that's very tidy and is gender neutral. Too bad this store is located so far from me, but I did heard they will be building one on Shaw and West. $40.00 here goes twice as far as it does for us at Wal Mart. Yes you need a quarter to use the cart. But you don't have to get out of your car to move carts before you park. Because people take their carts back for a refund. Over all great prices and a lot of their stuff has better ingredients. Like the kids cereal for example, they have their own brand/versions but most without the food dyes or excessive ingredients. It's mostly their brand of stuff in general which a lot of people are blindsided by. Where else can you find $0.39 avocados and $0.59 dozen eggs around here though? ‍ read more

Commercials show a bounty of produce. There was little to no variety to choose from. What they did have; mist not ripe. Not well stocked at all. we finally caught up with the rest of America! we have an actual Aldi store! I see everyone on IG shopping here because I eat low carb and apparently, this place has many keto friendly finds. one in particular is the Zero Carb Bread which is a huge deal in the keto community. I went looking for it but, no luck! I was thrilled to just walk around tho because there are tons of other deals this store does compare to another discounted grocery that is popular in town. however, this place is cleaner. chalk it up to it being new or whatever. there was ample parking and the quarter for the cart thing wasn't a big deal to me. good thing I had one on me tho because I totally forgot. that might be a hard one to get used to for people. I got meat, milk, eggs and another thing for $15! the eggs were on sale for .79! large eggs! good prices, clean store, kind of far from me but oh well. I'll make the drive all the time when they get the Zero Carb Bread back in January. So happy to say it will be a staple item starting then!! read more

We were in this store on Friday, 1/29/21...around 8:00pm we checked out. I was shocked that the one checker you had working completely abandoned us and went to mop the floors. I understand wanting to leave as soon as your shift is over but something was wrong with her. I heard her speaking rudely to other customers but didn't pay much attention. She was irritated to have to check us out and was literally throwing all of our groceries back in the basket and talking to herself! Seems like she was on drugs or something. Aldi's should pay more attention to who they hire and how they treat customers. Probably won't be back too often, if at all. read more

First off the prices are very good , at least the items they price , about a third of the store has no price tags up. The problem is the selection is bad, not much to choose from. The customer service is absolutely terrible , I guess you can't expect much from employees most likely making minimum wage, they are rude , & let the lines pile up and refuse to open another register. Aldi spent a lot of $ on the location, self check would be nice so I wouldn't have to deal with miserable the cashiers rolling their eyes at me while paying. The most rude customer service ever .
