I think they may also have a berry patch, but I haven't been for that. Mountain Brook Ranch is a great place to bring the family to enjoy some time outdoors and to pick fruit fresh from the tree. It is easy to spot from the road, and has a lovely farm stand right next to a gravel parking area. Depending on the season, the farm stand has jams and the seasonally fresh/ripe fruit ready for you to buy if you don't want to pick your own. They also have buckets and pruning shears to cut the fruit off the trees available for those who want to pick their own. Please note that usually only certain trees or rows are available to pick from, depending on which trees have ripe fruit and which trees they are saving for other things. Surrounded by beautiful rolling foothills, this is a great family activity, and a great place to take photos while you enjoy time outside. I finally had a chance this summer on a day off to take the 40 minute drive and check it out. I was not disappointed. This is a small but year-round farm stand right off the side of the road with gravel space for cars to park. It is not greatly protected from the elements--and it was a hot hot day. I'm glad to see they at least had a few fans for the employees. The owner regularly works her stand, and when I was there, she offered to cut some fresh herbs or flowers for me while I perused the wonderful assortment of fruits, veggies and local honey. I ended up with some of the sweetest green grapes I've ever tried, a few different honeys to try (avocado and orange blossom), some freshly roasted peanuts, cucumbers, and an assortment of stone fruit. Everything was delicious, but the grapes were my favorite. Check out Sweet Girl Farms on Social media, or check out their website. They are active in the community, help to support other community growers (they even have eggs and other offerings), and enjoy a worthwhile visit to what should soon obtain the title of local treasure. Was looking to purchase roasted & UNSALTED pistachios but the lady (busy attending to other customers who wanted to sample the nut butters) said they don't have it. My purchase was for $14, not bad considering the organic, roasted & unsalted pistachios at Sprouts were for $12.49. The Fiesta pistachios have all the flavors they have available. Some featured flavors that I noticed after I have paid for mine were, garlic, jalapeño....I would've gotten the garlic for sure! Next time. Snacked on these on the way home & these were really good, packed with flavors, especially the garlic are pretty spicy. Will definitely try other flavors when I visit next tome. Hopefully the vendor would be more attentive.

On my last visit, I had a wonderful experience with a helpful man who tried to offer me several fruit samples. I purchased some dried fruit, trail mix, mandarins, and the best red pear I've ever had. The pear was so juicy, sweet, and fresh tasting, it was such a delight! I agree with another review that some of the fruits were past their prime, but I don't think that takes away from the charm of this fruit stand. As someone who doesn't usually carry cash, the only downside for me is the cash-only nature of the business. However, I might be spoiled by my local farmer's market accepting Tap & Pay and Venmo. I love supporting local businesses, especially when the service is so friendly, so I will always stop here when I'm in town.
