Mountain Brook Ranch - Plenty of poms up high!

This is a beautiful family-owned farm in the Fresno foothills. I have been several times in late…read morespring/early summer to pick or purchase cherries, and just recently went with a group to pick pomegranates in the fall. I think they may also have a berry patch, but I haven't been for that. Mountain Brook Ranch is a great place to bring the family to enjoy some time outdoors and to pick fruit fresh from the tree. It is easy to spot from the road, and has a lovely farm stand right next to a gravel parking area. Depending on the season, the farm stand has jams and the seasonally fresh/ripe fruit ready for you to buy if you don't want to pick your own. They also have buckets and pruning shears to cut the fruit off the trees available for those who want to pick their own. Please note that usually only certain trees or rows are available to pick from, depending on which trees have ripe fruit and which trees they are saving for other things. Surrounded by beautiful rolling foothills, this is a great family activity, and a great place to take photos while you enjoy time outside. Follow them on Facebook to get updates on when they'll be opened and when fruit is ready. And bring cash or check, as they do not accept credit cards.

He even walked with us over to the pomegranate trees to help us! We got to sample some of the pomegranates that were already splitting on the trees and we were sold! Sweet and juicy regardless of the size (with some variation of course) but overall we bought about 60 pomegranates and it was the best decision of the week! Highly recommend bringing the family while they offer U-pick!

Myself and…read more2 friends came to pick a pumpkin and create a lovely floral arrangement, in a fun hands-on experience. Upon arriving to this cute little gem along Temperance, we were greeted by the sweetest person, Mai. She welcomed us, showed us our containers, tools, and guided us to get started with our fun. We went out to the field and picked flowers, corn, other fillers, and created our arrangement in a pumpkin we got to hollow out. It is all open air, and we sat on picnic benches as we bonded, laughed, and enjoyed our time! We were all so pleased that this whole experience was only $7 per person. I also decided to try one of their freshly created lemonades, and I was over the moon thriled and refreshed! I also purchased some beautifully fragrant cilantro and additional greens. I can't wait to return in a few months for their awesome strawberry picking as well! I would highly recommend visiting this adorable family owned and operated farm... just good for the soul!

When prices are finally revealed at checkout, they are shockingly high. While I was there, the gentleman in front of me was told his six pomegranates totaled $42. He was so surprised he asked the cashier to confirm she was speaking to him. She explained they were priced at $6.99 per pound. That price is inflated and extremely expensive for pomegranates. He did not end up purchasing them and left disappointed. I also noticed several products on the shelves that were past their expiration date, which is very concerning. Beyond pricing and product quality, the store lacks organization, making it difficult to shop efficiently. There was only one cashier open, and the checkout line stretched down the aisle. Although I appreciate friendly customer service, the cashier was engaged in a lengthy conversation while the line continued to grow. It's absolutely possible to be warm and personable while still being mindful of customers waiting. Living in Orange County, I'm fortunate to have access to many well-stocked, organized, and fairly priced Middle Eastern markets. I genuinely wish the Fresno community had the same level of quality and consistency available to them. This is unfortunately the grocery store my mother frequents due to a lack of options in Fresno. There is a lot of potential here, but unfortunately the overall experience missed the mark.

There is fresh produce, fresh meats, deli meats, a bakery, and a restaurant. The hot food looks amazing. They had schwarma, lamb chops, gyro, falafel, all your kabob cravings. I ordered some falafel.
