After finding out about this farmstand and a little about the history of the owner a few years ago…read moreon social media, I've been wanting to stop by. I finally had a chance this summer on a day off to take the 40 minute drive and check it out. I was not disappointed. This is a small but year-round farm stand right off the side of the road with gravel space for cars to park. It is not greatly protected from the elements--and it was a hot hot day. I'm glad to see they at least had a few fans for the employees. The owner regularly works her stand, and when I was there, she offered to cut some fresh herbs or flowers for me while I perused the wonderful assortment of fruits, veggies and local honey. I ended up with some of the sweetest green grapes I've ever tried, a few different honeys to try (avocado and orange blossom), some freshly roasted peanuts, cucumbers, and an assortment of stone fruit. Everything was delicious, but the grapes were my favorite. Check out Sweet Girl Farms on Social media, or check out their website. They are active in the community, help to support other community growers (they even have eggs and other offerings), and enjoy a worthwhile visit to what should soon obtain the title of local treasure. I may not be able to stop by every week, but I hope to be a several times a year regular. This place is wonderful!

I scored some fresh eggs, apricots, cherries, jams, potatoes, onions, chicharrons and the most gorgeous flowers. She also turned me onto the Fresno Country Fruit Trail and I feel like I unlocked a whole other level to produce. I look forward to more visits.

Taqueria orders are typically ready pretty quickly, though they are short-staffed at the moment. You pay for your food at the taqueria instead of at the main checkout. Orders come wrapped in foil and are placed into plastic bags. There are also other yummy staples available here like pan dulce, which comes pre-bagged near the parking lot entrance. Lots of items that you won't find at Savemart that you might need for traditional dishes. And if you need pinatas for a party, they also have a good selection of those. A really solid store that I enjoy shopping at - especially for the taqueria.

Cambo, our bartender, was amazing, very attentive, friendly, and made sure we were well taken care of. The food was excellent and did not disappoint. I ordered the short rib and swapped the side for the mushroom risotto, which was creamy, rich, and absolutely delicious. My date had the meatloaf, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We both enjoyed the round pond cab with dinner, before we wrapped up the night with old-fashioneds before heading home. Birthday dessert was a nice treat too! Everything about the evening was wonderful -- we'll definitely be back!

Duck potstickers were just ok. More of wontons than potstickers, but decent crisp . The whole dish needed salt and acid. Since duck leg is so rich it needed to be cut. The pickled cabbage wasn't acidic at all and ponzu was thick and seemed like Mae ploy mixed with something . Presented nicely though . Wife got the salmon with risotto and buerre blanc . She said was well executed but wished it had some salt and a half the amount of rice . I got the chicken with leek risotto and rosemary jus. It was good but needed something else. Maybe fried leek garnish? The leeks were a bit stringy in the rice, I'd cut them smaller. Rosemary pan jus was ok but not a pan jus . Definitely thicken with corn starch and kinda bland
