As crazy as it may sound, I took my family on a day trip from Los Angeles to get some farm-fresh…read morepeaches choosing not to visit any of the Southern California farms because I wanted to get to the REAL source of the MOST delicious fruit - FRESNO! I selected Friesen Farm because of their informative website and helpfulness over the phone. Coming from a long ways, I was unsure if they would have any peaches left so I was very glad to reserve an order by phone. When I arrived 4 hours later (cell signal was solid the entire way so you can't get lost), a modest crowd was there and the Friesen team was hard at work fulfilling their orders. I saw them pack boxes of nectarines, peaches, and plums by hand (COVID precautions prevented us customers from selecting our own). While waiting, I saw my order (3 bags) were ready for pick up, but the irresistible smell of their fruit compelled me to purchase more (I had to make the 250 mile drive worthwhile, right?). The associate (owner?) who was helping me assured me that it was no trouble to return all the fruit from my previous order and pack the boxes I wanted to take home. While packing my boxes, we engaged in some small talk and she convinced me that I must return late February to see the blossoms. By the look in her eye, and the excitement in her voice I could tell that it was a must-see spectacle so I hope she remembers me when I come back in 2021! But something makes me think I will be back before then to get more fruit here. Now the fruit is indescribably delicious! I could use all the superlatives to describe how tasty they are, but it's exactly like when you say, "The pictures don't do it justice; you just have to be there to believe it." when sharing your vacation photos. They are juicy, fragrant, and sweet as candy. As she packed my boxes, she made sure there was a fair mixture of ready-to-eat fruit and some that would ripen in 2-4 days. That was such a thoughtful gesture that made me feel respected. It should be noted that none of the fruit I purchased were organic. Not sure if they offer any, but that might be something that matters to you. Also, I did not see any restrooms but they could be available. The parking lot was small (maybe 4-6 cars), and there's no gift shop or attractions here: You're here for the fruit. Lastly, I must say that their prices are VERY fair. If I was a Fresno or Tulare County resident, I would be a regular customer because I couldn't imagine paying more for less quality fruit from the supermarkets. I'm not comfortable sharing their prices here in this review because it may be market-dependent (and they don't list them on their website), so contact them and don't be surprised if you buy more than what you planning to. We all gotta support our local farmers!

Drove from Fresno, a young girl named Regan helped me, she was short and not very happy for sure…read more Now on to the product, or the lack of it, everything was gone, and the boxes I did get were light, and when I mentioned it Regan just said the lid has to close down for it to be a full box. This is a good example of what happens when you try to be big instead of neighborly. I will not come back here. The product and the customer service is not what it used to be. Sad

Since it's been over five years since my review, a quick update on that…read more This farm is only at the Ferry farmers' market Saturdays now. Their stand is in the back lot area towards the center near the Ghandi statue. Currently, the citrus season is winding down (mandarins and tangerines) while yellow peaches just became available and other stone fruits will follow shortly. Apricots were available when I walked by yesterday. My go-to here are the kishu mandarins when in season but we are already past that season. They also sell both types of persimmons, fuyu (crunchy and crisp) and hachiya (soft after ripening). This stand is manned by multiple people, sometimes a gal, and sometimes a guy. The guy has been here recent weeks and they do accept credit cards for payment.

Salt of the earth here. This is a good sized, family run business, that offers certified organic…read morefruit, owned by simply really nice, hard working people. The August day we came toodling down a dusty road looking for them, they were busy at their packing shed filling humongous orders to ship off to SF and places beyond. This happens twice a week, on Sundays and Thursdays, something the Blossom Trail brochure did not exactly explain. Oblivious to their strict schedule, we found ourselves staring at a tightly closed, little farm store which is located right next to their home and a very unhappy dog that insisted we should not be there and should not get out of the car. Hey, I've watched Cesar Milan, Dog Whisperer. I got out of the car, stood firm, showed no fear, then wisely remembered I wasn't Cesar and slowly retreated to my open car door and hastily jumped in. Dog=1, Wendy=0. What that dog didn't know was, while Mr. B was too chicken to get out of the car, he was still unrelenting and hell bent on getting some great fruit. So he called their listed phone number. I have to say, Fran, wife, was most gracious and very accommodating. She even jumped into her car and drove us over to their packing shed where she introduced us to her hard working son, Brian, who dropped everything to help us. We left the dog in our dust. They were currently processing several delicious varieties: OHenry peaches, Snow King white peach, Bella Royale peacotum (an interesting peach apricot plum mix), Flavor Grenade plum, and the Elephant Heart Plum (my personal favorite, a most delicious turn-of-the-century plum developed by Luther Burbank). While still not quite ripe, they had delicious aroma that convinced us we were getting something special. We came away with about $20 worth of beautiful, unique fruit. Their products can be found at many Farmer's Markets in the SF Bay area. Make sure you look for the Blossom Bluff Orchards label. Or if you find yourself out in the exciting (jk) Fresno area and want to buy from the source, call first to make sure their little farm store is open.
