We had the country fried chicken with mashed potatoes and turnip geeens. The turnip greens were so good and my wife said the chicken was very good. I had the fried pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes and okra. All of it was delicious! For dessert we had blueberry lemon cake and coconut cake. Pictures do not to them justice. They were so huge the lid barely closed on the to go box. It was like 1/4 of a cake. We left there stuffed with four to go boxes for two people! Highly recommend!

I've come here because my grandparents from Paris recommended this place as a good 18th birthday dinner spot, and even though they may be just a little crazy, I am so glad I listened to them. The food is outstanding. I tried their Cheesesteak with French Fries, and I didn't even take a picture of it, I was that excited, and it was nothing short of outstanding. You get a lot of it too. If I wasn't a big back I would've had the entire thing for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the same can be said for their dessert cakes. The staff were excellent as well, they were friendly, and certainly helped making our first visit a welcoming experience, and I earnestly hope they are satisfied with working here. If you are a foodie, a travelling foodie, or just someone who just likes going to establishments in towns you don't even know the name of, I tell you now that you NEED to go to this place. P.S. Forget all the other beverages you can have with your food, GRAB THE TEA. Sweet or unsweet, their tea tastes HEAVENLY.

No preservatives in anything served. I had fried chicken, red potatoes, mac-n-cheese, cole slaw, white beans, cornbread, pineapple casserole, wheat bread and fried catfish. Desserts are made there too. I had fudge pie with homemade vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. Everything was absolutely delicious. The butter is churned there as well. Picnic tables are on the front porch and a swing hangs from the ceiling. There is a vintage cash register used when you make payment for your meals. There is also a store with jelly, jams and other items made there. I bought a tee-shirt. I highly recommend visiting here. Bring your appetite. Everything is buffet style. The owner is friendly. Check hours of operation before you show up. Good parking. Clean restrooms. If possible I would give more than 5 Stars. I am not a local. I am visiting my daughter and grandchildren in Florence. The buffet is buffet food. Once you've had it, you're good for a long while. I would like to go…read moremore often because Lexington doesn't have many places to eat, and the majority of them aren't anything special, but until they offer a variety instead of the exact same food every time, I will only go on occasion when someone asks me to go with them. I've found that sometimes food on the buffet is too salty (and I like salt). Once the turnip greens were so salty that I had to spit them out. It was as if someone had poured a whole cup of salt in them. The catfish is also usually very salty. Nothing on the buffet is labeled, so you may have to ask about some of the meat if it's your first time to go. The salad bar is very small and minimum, so I prefer to get slaw instead, but I no longer do that. Sometimes the slaw had a strange taste and smell as if it was going bad. Once it was so completely soured that it almost made me gag. I let the server know and she just took it away. Toward the end of the meal, she brought another bowl and said it was freshly made. She never apologized. She actually acted put out over it. Needless to say, I've learned to be cautious with the turnip greens and slaw. The dessert bar is terrible. I mean that. If you like pudding with whipped cream on top (they usually have chocolate and banana), and sometimes a low-quality overly sweet store- bought cobbler, then you'll like it. They also have ice cream, but it isn't the smooth kind. It is more like the type you make at home. My advice is to order off the menu. You will not have the variety, or the amount, but you will have a better meal. The location is good. The parking is good. It's a large place so you can usually get a table pretty quickly.

talk about a comeback…read more The Southern Table staff and management sought to ensure we had a great experience this time and excelled. Great customer service and I greatly appreciate their accountability/ willingness to make up for our previous visit. Last night we started with the crab croquettes, STELLAR. Absolutely loved and devoured these. The crunch on the croquette was to die for, topped with a refreshing crab salad, perfect. For my entree, I had the lamb rack with house potatoes & broccolini. My boyfriend had the blackened catfish with the grits. Both dishes were phenomenal . To finish up we tried their new chocolate strawberry bread pudding, so rich and delicious. This restaurant is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in Northern Alabama. Go give them a try! We'll 100% be back.

This seemed to want to be a foodie destination. The half fried chicken included a small drumstick, small wing, piece of breast, and another piece that was unidentifiable but might have been a thigh. It had a spicy sweet sauce covering, which we opted to have on the side. That was a good choice because the hint of Cayenne was still too much for one diner. We asked about the slaw -- whether it was had a cream or vinegar dressing. The server described it as a "creamy vinegar." It made no difference because the dressing was so understated that the side tasted more like chopped cabbage than anything else. Disappointing. Finally, I asked the server whether the grilled green beans were actually that. I was more curious than anything else because grilled green beans would be would take longer to cook. She said yes, they were grilled. I don't think so. They came out fairly quickly and were pretty universally blackened on one side. Once our food was delivered, we never saw our server again until I asked her for the check. So, what I believe was intended to be an elevated dining experience was simply under executed.
