I really did not want to make the 4 hour round trip and wondered if they would take it back at the Modesto shop, instead. Appreciate you guys taking that stressful 4 hours of driving, off of my to do list!

This is a weird one because drop off was great but pick up was odd. I only rent Avis and if the…read morepick up was my first impression, I would probably never come back. I've rented from Avis multiple times a year so when the front desk person was pushy about me getting insurance even though I told them that I have to decline their cdw because of my credit card (they provide me with primary coverage), she wouldn't take that answer. I provided my card's policy and my personal insurance as proof that I will be covered liability-wise but she was at the point of not allowing me to rent the vehicle. So weird. And she never gave me a rental agreement copy. But dropping off was great. The shuttle drivers expecting tips or they give you attitude is a bit weird.

No up selling, no nonsense, very honest. I would have normally taken my vehicle to my dealership, but I've lost all faith in the Service Dept., and the Tech in mis diagnosing causing me several hundred more dollars, as well as taking it elsewhere to find out it was just a bad battery and not the starter which the dealer missed and charged me for a new starter. Gateway, diagnosed and fix the issue in 4 hours. I highly recommend them. While not a big fancy facility, these gentlemen are honest, and fair. Excellent work!!!!

END UPDATE For years I have been able to rely on and trust the staff of Gateway Automotive. Today when my car died outside of the library I called the shop and Ryan assured me that if I towed it over they would take care of it so I did. I was immediately greeted by the staff and Ryan went straight to work. The problem was diagnosed and repaired in less than 2 hours. He was direct, accurate and incredibly helpful. I am grateful for his hard work. The entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I ALWAYS recommend this shop for the fact that they've never been wrong and have always been honest. Many times I've sent my friends to Gateway for second opinions and nearly every time their diagnosis was on point and way more affordable. It's hard to find an honest mechanic in this town... Responses to my inquiries were quick, polite, and professional from Paula at their office. We had several itinerary changes, which were graciously accommodated. Lucas, the driver, was punctual and got the teenagers safely to and from each stop. I drove separately to meet them at the first stop (photos at an obscure location) and I noticed Lucas drove that giant vehicle competently and followed all traffic laws. Bless him for calmly dealing with 18 rowdy teenagers, too. Parts of the outside of the bus could use a little perking up, but it was clean and very nice inside. Just like the photos posted. The stereo system was awesome, and the kids were able to connect their own music. They all said their time in the party bus was more fun than the prom itself, that they would have happily driven around in it most of the night. All in all, highly recommend!
