They didn't have the part to fix my car, but charged me a mandatory $125.00 fee just for looking. I told them I could show them exactly what was wrong in 3 seconds, but they refused. I know what's wrong, I just couldn't find a place in the city that has the part. I am fuming mad! This is the only place in the city that works on Suzuki (when a part is required that can't be gotten at an auto parts store), so they know they have me between a rock and a hard place. If you have any other choice (serious, ANY OTHER CHOICE), go someplace else. read more

I purchased a used 2020 Dodge Ram with 17,000 miles from this dealership. I noticed a wobble in the front end. After having the front tires balanced, twice, I was told the right front rim was bent. I know I haven't hit anything in the truck since I purchased it ( 2 weeks ). I contacted Mr. Washington ( Sales Mgr. ) about this. He said he had a guy that could straighten the rim. Not crazy about this, I agreed. I never heard anything ( 2 WEEKS ). I then sent an email to Mr. Washington and Mr. Norcross ( owner ), Asking to have the rim replaced. That was two (2) weeks ago. My experience with Volvo of Memphis was pitiful. I called and asked when I should bring my car in to be worked on, and was told Tuesday 8/4. I specifically asked when I should bring it in, because I understand mechanics can be busy with other vehicles, and I did not want to be stuck waiting. I took my car in on the day requested and it WAS UNATTENDED FOR NINE DAYS. The service advisers frequently promised to call me back with updates, but never did. After such an exorbitant amount of time, I asked for a courtesy vehicle as my rental car was now costing in the HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS. The service adviser refused. When I finally gave up and asked to get my car back, they took an extra day because they had left it in pieces after looking at it. After all this, frankly, bull crap from them, they still had the audacity to charge a $130 inspection fee. After pointing out how ridiculous this is, they did lower it to $40, but the $90 "savings" does not compare to the hundreds of dollars I wasted on a rental car while waiting for this location to get its act together. Despite charging me for their inspection, their write-up was so poor, the next mechanic had to do an inspection of his own, because he could make no sense of their findings. They found over $6,000 of things needing repair, but the second mechanic I took it to called bull on a lot of what they "found" and said I did not need it repaired. I would also like to add that at no point did anyone ever acknowledge how pitiful their service was or even act like it was out of the ordinary for them. One person did apologize briefly one time but offered no explanation, excuse, or attempt to right the situation. I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. read more

I love coming to this Volvo service center. Their customer service is on point and I am always treated cordially and like family. I've been coming here for over a year and a half and have always gotten my car problems solved smoothly without any problems and with clear explanations. On one occasion, I did have to leave my car there for several days for service. They let me borrow a vehicle at no charge while my car was being worked on - saved a lot of my time and stress! When I do have to stay for a few hours at the service center, the waiting room is spacious, clean, and a quiet place to get some work done. DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP! I bought a 2016 Certified Pre Owned Volvo from Volvo of Memphis, but was lied to about the car having been in an extensive prior accident. I was repeatedly told the car had not been in any accidents, and that a Volvo Certified Pre Owned car had to be thoroughly inspected to look for signs of previous accidents. Well, when I got the car inspected the mechanic immediately pointed out the tell tale signs of the front end having been severely damaged, and poorly repaired. When I contacted the owner about a resolution, Ernest Norcross only said the vehicle was sold "as is." This dealership, and even Volvo Certified Pre Owned program should not be trusted. Thoroughly disappointed. Had been a Volvo for Life customer, but not anymore. read more

I bought my Volvo XC60 from this dealership in 2019. Not long after I got it, I started having issues with it. I brought it to the Volvo dealership in Memphis on 3 separate occasions to have this issue fixed. And while each time they told me it was fixed, the problem always came back. Well now, 3 months after my warranty was up, this issue has caused an even bigger issue that could potentially make my engine blow up soon. Bottom line, they should have fixed it one of those three times I brought it in or at least be honest with me that it was such a big issue. It's just hard for me to believe that a VOLVO dealership couldn't find the root of the issue with 3 opportunities to do so...but yet a local, reputable auto repair shop finds the issue and explains it to me full within one day of having the vehicle. It's just ridiculous! Don't go to this place please! I am a single mom with a full time career and all I wanted was a reliable vehicle with reliable service done on it. And I didn't get either. I'm so disgusted by this place. All they want is your money and after you spend it, they don't care if the car they sold you is a complete lemon. They got their money and that's all they are worried about. read more

Unbelievable service and not in a good way! I previously bought a Volvo here years ago and was happy with that service. Therefore, I contacted a sales rep and made an appointment to see a specific vehicle. After driving 3 1/2 hours to get to Memphis Volvo, I pull up to find another couple sitting in the car that I specifically came to drive and purchase, even though I had told the sales rep that I was specifically driving there to purchase!Did anyone text or call me? No. I then started to ask questions about who would get the car if we both wanted it. I was informed that the only way to reserve a car is with a nonrefundable deposit, an option I was never informed of but is ridiculous none the same. To top it off, the used car manager came to speak with me who was rude and unprofessional. Do not, I repeat DO NOT do business at Memphis Volvo!!!! Buyer Beware! The service department is not what you would expect from a luxury car dealership. I have owned my brand new 2017 Volvo XC90 since Oct. 2017. First the leather has discolored and then my sunroof cracked. On the first trip to the dealership, Derrick did not feel an impact but wanted his manager to determine if it would be repaired under warranty. The manager was not there and we had to return another day. When we returned, the manager, Randy, felt around the inside and outside of the glass for 15 minutes and did not tell me his determination. I received a phone call the next day from Derrick not the manager saying that it was an impact. There was no impact and the manager refused to bend. Additionally, the manager did acknowledge posts about cracked sunroofs from the Volvo Community. Replacing the sunroof is not cheap at over $1,000. Besides the poor customer service, the waiting area is poorly stocked in comparison to their luxury dealer competitors. They also do not offer courtesy vehicles. If you want luxury service buy a Lexus or Acura, I sure wish I had. read more

I purchased my XC90 from Volvo of Memphis last November and they have consistently exceeded expectations. The initial sales process was easy, friendly, and painless. All of the salesmen and managers could not have been more helpful. In the 8 months I have owned my vehicle I have had multitudes of opportunities, unfortunately, to interact with the service department as my vehicle kept having various electrical issues. There were also some minor administrative issues that the sales department helped me out with as well during these months. After playing whack-a-mole for 8 months with the electrical issues I inquired of the service manager the possibility of just putting me in a new vehicle (never expecting it to really happen) since I really needed a vehicle I could rely on and mine was now awaiting a tow to the dealership. I told Randy (service manager) I was sure he wouldn't have an answer but would stop by to chat with him when I arrived with my vehicle. Much to my pleasant surprise Volvo and the dealership stepped up to the plate and when I arrived 90 minutes later I was told it was a done deal and I was getting a new vehicle at no cost to me. Sure it was aggravating to have so many issues with such an expensive vehicle, however, the entire staff at Volvo of Memphis made it as painless as possible over these past 8 months. My car was obviously the 'one in a million' with so many issues and is not by any means representative of XC90's in general. Having had so much customer contact with Volvo of Memphis my experience is that given the chance they will far exceed your expectations. From the sales personnel (Zack and Ben), service personnel (Derrick, Steve, and Eric), sales management (Guy), and service management (Randy), I could not be more pleased with the service I have received and would certainly not hesitate to purchase from Volvo of Memphis in the future. read more
