I've been coming to this oil change and tire shop since 2013/2014 and steadily, for all of my cars…read moresince 2017 when we moved in to our home nearby. Since my father owns an auto shop back up North, I always come in with a set of very specific instructions, especially when it comes to my oil changes. Each one of my cars has a specific set of instructions I want followed because each one has its own little finicky things. Lucas first, don't top off fluids except washer fluid, only use manual tools and not drills, etc. the guys who work here have ALWAYS abided by my instructions without hesitation. They don't ever make me feel like a nuisance or burden and are always very polite and professional. Today was no different. Nick worked on my Mercedes to get my oil change done and then Derek worked on my new tire installation. Between the pleasant conversations, not ever trying to rip me off because I'm a female, and their overall politeness and ability to work on my cars the way I want them to, I will continue coming back year after year and bringing all of my cars here ranging from the more normal ones to the imports. They do have a pretty high turnover rate of workers, so just as I get to know one set of them, a new set arrives, but every single set of guys has been very helpful and respectful. I would absolutely recommend this shop, ESPECIALLY to females, because they won't try to rip you off like most shops around here will try to do just because they think you don't know what you're talking about and are an easy target. I also always bring in my own oil and filters (and even my own tires) and they have no issues using MY equipment, which many shops in the area will refuse to do. If you're hesitant, don't be. If you're also a female and are worried about someone trying to pull a fast one on you, trust me this shop won't even try it.

I'm definitely moving my business to Express Oil. They were friendly and professional. They…read moreexplained my service and recommended other services that my car needed that they could do during my oil change.

I contacted CBA and made an appointment to drop my Toyota Tundra at their shop to get a quote on…read morereplacing the carrier bearing. I had a u-joint replaced 3 years ago by another shop that has a good reputation and typically costs less than most places. I asked the old place for a quote, and they gave a price that I felt was too high, so I took the truck to CBA. After dropping the truck off, their shuttle service carried me back to my office. They assessed the truck and said it definitely needed the carrier bearing replaced but also needed a new u-joint in the rear where the driveshaft connected to the rearend. This made sense, because the other place only replaced the front u-joint. CBA sent me a quote (via text) and then I was able to approve the work via my phone, which was convenient. CBA communicates with you every step of the way, except after they let me know the technician was assessing the work to be done, I did not hear from them for 24 hours (did it take that long to do the assessment? How about a status update?? Something like, "assessment is complete, now putting quote together", but don't go silent!). I texted CBA the next morning asking for an update. It was then that I received the quote. I approved the work and they started on my vehicle. They finished at the end of the day but when they took it for a test drive, the carrier bearing they installed was defective. So they told me they would have to change it out the next day, which they did. My truck was ready by mid-morning the next day. They're shuttle service picked me up from the office and took me to CBA. I got my truck and everything is great! I would recommend. Overall, very pleasant to deal with. I would tell you they seem to stay very busy, so if you're in a huge hurry, you might be out of luck.

Lack of transparency and unauthorized cost increase!…read more Before reporting the terrible service I received, I want to make one thing very clear: the employees were polite and respectful at all times. My issue is not about attitude, it is about lack of transparency, which for me is the most important factor when choosing a mechanic. Yesterday around 10:00 a.m., I took my car to Christian Brothers Automotive (Lakeland, TN) with a known issue. I clearly stated that I wanted only the replacement of the alternator belt. I received a quote of US$380, was informed the service could be completed the same day, and I approved it. Later that day, I was informed that due to workload, the car would be ready the following day. I understood and had no issue with that. This morning, I received a call informing me that the price had changed from US$380 to US$950, an increase of US$570 (more than 150%). I did not approve the new price. I was then told that was fine and that I could pick up my car because the service was already completed. What do you mean? This is where the problem becomes serious. The shop performed a service that did not fully resolve the issue, even after I refused to approve the additional cost. In other words, I was expected to pay for incomplete work, and if I wanted the problem fully resolved, I would have to pay an additional US$570. In my view, proper and transparent business practice would require informing the customer of any additional necessary repairs before performing any work, and obtaining explicit approval prior to proceeding. If approval is not granted, no partial or incomplete service should be performed. To make matters worse, after picking up the car, I noticed a strong burning smell and smoke coming from the engine, which raises serious safety concerns and the risk of fire. This experience was extremely disappointing. Due to the lack of transparency, unauthorized cost increase, incomplete service, and safety concerns, I DO NOT RECOMMEND CHRISTIAN BROTHERS IN LAKELAND, TN!
