Had to get my car ,brand new 2020 traverse, into the shop during a short vacation due to a check engine light and an alert that I received through my app. Every time I tried to call the shop to find out an update , the phone would just continue to ring and I'd have to try again. Then deal went bad from there by not showing us the all numbers but only showing us the payment for the amount of months and trying to give away a extended warranty . Don't bother coming here if you're in town for vacation, you will not be accommodated. I stopped in due to my car randomly shutting off and then check engine light coming on. I was told by the service advisor it would be at least a week and a half before a tech would look at it even though I told her I was in town on vacation. Asked her to put the diagnostic tool on it and get the readout, then she just gave me a list of independent repair shops in the area. I immediately called and spoke with a tech at the dealership I use back home in Michigan and he said it would have been a 20 minute fix, but they couldn't be bothered to check to see how long it would take to help someone hundreds of miles from home. read more

Last year I took my truck in to have the brakes turned. I told them I thought it was the rear brakes. They said they'd check it out. After 3 hours they came and said they made a mistake and turned the front brakes instead of the rear and had to keep the truck overnight to turn the rear ones. They did get me a rental and only charged for the front. Then this year we bought a new car at a different dealership and were told there was a chip that will have to be installed later. After many months, we got a letter from GM saying to contact a dealer to get the chip installed. My wife contacted Volunteer and they said it'll be six weeks to get the part so they set the appointment for six weeks out. We took the car in for the appointment and they asked it we ordered the chip...? What? What did we wait six weeks for? They said they'd order a chip and let us know when it gets here. My car battery died and needed to be replaced. I replaced it myself at home but after installing the new battery my car wouldn't start and the computer was locked down in "limp mode". I got my car towed to Volunteer Chevrolet and they did an excellent job. They got to my car the day after it arrived, reset the computer, fixed a loose connection, addressed the theft light that had come on, pumped up my tires as they noticed they were low, and washed my car as well. They were extremely reasonable on the price, it was well under $100. They were attentive and courteous throughout. I have used them before for oil and differential fluid changes and they have always taken the utmost care of me and my vehicle. Highly recommended. read more

Now this is my second attempt at service here and have had the same results, however, there is twenty people sitting with me with similar issues. Probably won't be doing business here again but Chevrolet might want to reach out to the owners and look into this. It's a real shame too, there much closer for me than Knoxville. **Update** When you don't think it can get worse, received a call saying my car was ready, explained what they found and repaired and when asked if they inspected the brakes as ordered when the vehicle was dropped off he explained, and I quote: "He didn't take the wheels off but looked from the outside and thinks there's about 50% left and should be okay".... So in part, not only was my time not that important at first, we also find that my safety was equally as unimportant....wondering if the FTC and the NTSB would agree.... read more

Absolutely horrible is a great way to describe the service department here! Today marks 7 weeks that my truck has been sitting there and I get nothing but excuses and run around from them. I could go on and on with all the different lines of BS I've gotten over this timeframe. The same issue I'm dealing with now was first reported to them 3 years ago when I bought the truck brand new off their showroom floor! I was told "that's just what these trucks do, it's normal, nothing to worry about" I subsequently reported it as still happening over the last few years and was told, "it's nothing". Clearly, it's something! They didn't care then and they surly still don't care now. Don't waste your time or hard-earned money here! Well if your told the vehicle is in the service garage and it's taking extra time because they are sooooo busy and sooooo short staffed... honest hardworking consumers are led to believe that patience will bring the result of a vehicle. I was frightened and my husband was confused. I called Volunteer Chevrolet where we purchased our Sonic in 2014. They listened as I struggled to describe what was happening, but with confidence, they advised me to have the car towed because of the flashing engine light. So I called USAA roadside assistance and they towed the car to Volunteer Chevrolet. It was a Friday midday. We have no other car. I began to try to rent a car. But Volunteer called me that I needed a coil pack and spark plugs. And the car was soon ready. Volunteer Chevrolet is a quality organization that is always interested in doing the right thing. Their service department is terrible, if you bring your vehicle here for service, expect to wait forever for parts. Then when the parts finally arrive, expect that your seat will be moved up to nut crunch setting and radio stations changed If you want to trade in your vehicle, expect an offer 40% lower than it is really worth. And if you are trying to buy a vehicle from them, expect that they only sell gold. They want 40% more for their vehicles than what they are worth. Criminals in all aspects of the dealership. (Would give 0 stars if that were an option!) I am majorly disappointed in Volunteer Chevrolet of Sevierville, TN. I trusted them with the purchase of my first new car. This is a purchase that I most certainly don't take lightly. My first issue is that I was NOT TOLD until after I had signed all the paperwork and was literally in the vehicle that I had signed on, that the heated seats didn't work. I was then told Volunteer Chevrolet themselves, would let me know when they would get the replacement fuses to put into the vehicle. I waited month after month. No calls to me about the item. Finally, I called the service center to ask about the arrival of that part. I left a message that no one returned. I called the next morning and waited on the phone for 20 minutes and no one in the service department answered the phone. I had to call my salesman, to find out what the status of the parts was. Chris told me that I would receive a letter in the mail notifying me of the part's arrival. In the meantime, the same week I purchased my brand new vehicle the camera system quit working. I had to take the vehicle in to have it fixed/updated. (This has happened 2x since ownership) When we were on vacation in September, the turbo went out in the car. I called the service center yet again. I was told it would be over 3 weeks before they could get me in. I explained that this was a 2022 brand-new Chevrolet Equinox and she didn't care. I literally have committed OVER MSRP for this vehicle, and I was told that I was basically out of luck on having someone look at it. Since they were swamped, there was NOTHING they could do! I understand that other people have their cars in the shop, but there should be something said for someone who has had their 0-mile, $44,000 vehicle, with a turbo that won't work, causing an inability to drive this vehicle that I have only had for 2 months!!!!!!! There wasn't a sorry or offer to do ANYTHING TO HELP! To hear the recording on your phone line, stating that you are Number 1 in satisfaction with customers is a BLATANT LIE to your customers! Now fast forward to the part where I get the letter for the fuses, to heat the seats, I had to have the parts department then order the parts that I was told were coming in for the car. Insert MORE wait time on behalf of the lied to customer. Once the parts are in, I finally get on the books. Mind you, no one at any point says it is going to take 3 hours to service. They mention nothing about how long it is going to take. I am going off of the description of the sales crew that it shouldn't take long to install because it is a couple of fuses. My appointment was at 9:00 a.m. I arrive at 8:40 a.m. I had a dentist appointment at 11 p.m. I should have plenty of time between 9 and 10:30 to have these fuses placed, if in fact, that were all that was going to be done in my car to have heated seats added. (Per the sales crew) The lack of communication on behalf of the service team is uncalled for, as is the miss communication between the sales and service crew. I was told at 10:15 by the service department, I had an hour left on my update to my car! To my surprise, since absolutely no one communicated ANY of this to me. I would have canceled my Dentist appointment that I was now going to miss. At no point did the service team mention to me when I dropped it off, how long the procedure would take. They never told me when I scheduled, how long it would take either. I would have made other accommodations to leave my vehicle and have a ride. I bring all of this to the attention of the service member and the lady that signs you out and neither of them said SORRY or offer any sort of explanation!!!!!! Talk about a group of insensitive people!!!! My husband calls to speak to the owner of the company to speak of our inconveniences since purchasing, to which he is transferred to 3 different voicemail boxes that are full. IMAGINE that! Can't even keep up with the calls to defend their rudeness and inability to provide the customer service they are so proud to mention they have. I absolutely will NEVER purchase another vehicle from this location and I will go OUT OF MY WAY to get services done at any other Chevrolet in the area! I see now why you all have such a LOW rating! Shame on me for giving you a chance to prove you were better than what rating you have online! And trust me I already know you don't care. "Customer Service at its Worst..." Needed a/c repair and after spending over $800 was told the rear a/c line needed replacing and was on back order, an additional $800+ estimated cost. After calling back on 3 separate occasions during a month long time frame, was told we will call you when it comes in. Now, over 2 months later, no call back, summer is over, and still no a/c. Really don't have anything positive to say other than, your just another number, really don't care about you attitude by service mgr, don't call us we'll call you, etc...No wonder people don't like dealerships, especially Volunteer Chevrolet in Sevierville, TN. Your hometown I don't give a flip about you or your car attitude. Since the ownership change this dealership is simply horrible, and it shows. NEVER buy a used car from Volunteer Chevorlet. We bought a 2006 Honda Accord in March. The salesman assured us this was a safe and mechanically sound car. "We could never sell anyone a piece of crap after our inspections" were his words exactly. We have driven less than 1000 miles with it and were not due for any preventitive maintenance (said the dealer). We were trying to get the engine fixed for the second time and our mechanic is telling us we need a new engine... that costs more than we bought the car for. This could have all been avoided if they checked the spark plugs before they resold the car. When we brought this to Volunteer Chevorlet's attentention two months ago, they refused to make any effort to even care about this problem. Stay away from Volunteer Chevrolet. My sister in law just purchased a used 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport with 35,125 miles on it. She was told by the salesman the asking price on this vehicle was $35.000.00 and she ended up getting it for $27,388.69, I was stunned. Come to find out through CARFAX this was a rental car out of Indiana, with an original Manufacturer,s suggested retail price of $27,450.00 new. You do the math, she traded in her 2006 PT Cruiser for $4,000.00, with a $10,000.00 cash down payment, and ended up financing $18,478.67 after all the add on's. The vehicle had only one key, no floor mats, and no owners manual. When she asked to test drive the car the salesman said she could on the lot but not the highway because it did not have tags. When she returned the next day to complain about all the road noise inside the vehicle, the service manager said the tires were out of round, which explains them not wanting her to not test drive it on the highway. She was also told by the salesman she would get a $1,500.00 discount because her husband was a Veteran, which she did not get. You can find this same vehicle on line at other local dealerships with less mileage from $18,000.00 and $20,000.00. Its a shame that this dealership is allowed to remain in business and take advantage of the elderly and Veterans. My advice to anyone is to stay away from the CON ARTIST at Volunteer Chevrolet. I was recently on a family vacation in Sevierville, and my shifter cable broke in my Chevy Suburban. This was as I attempted to reach my rental cabin high in the mountains. A local tow company picked up my vehicle and told me it was going to Volunteer Chevy. I called thee next morning to get the particulars, and they'd diagnosed the issue and told me it would be a day before they could get the part. The next day they called and informed me it was ready for pickup. I had no way to get to them, and they told me to take my time and it would be there when I was ready. For someone from out of time, the extra time and effort from them was welcome. Once I arrived there was a huge monitor reminding me of a military discount! I'm a part time resident in Sevier County and have brought both my Equinox and GMC Yukon to Volunteer Chevrolet for warranty repairs and standard required service. The best I can say is whenever possible I wait until I get back here to have the service performed at Volunteer. Once when I thought the repair was simple part replacement their technician found an underlying problem causing the breakdown. They corrected the problem under warranty and provided me a vehicle while they obtained the parts. It is unrealistic to believe that all dealers will have all parts for all models. What is reasonable is that Volunteer has a system to obtain most parts in about 2-4 hours. Their technicians fixed it in less than an hour once they had the new GM parts. Given the complexity of today's vehicles their service staff are not mechanics, they are truly technicians. The amount of specialized equipment required to properly fix the new vehicles and the training required to operate it is extraordinary. When I have the choice I go to Volunteer. PS I travel over 800 miles to go to them. read more
