I have followed Cadet to two different salons and now she has found her place at Volume III, Cadet would be my eye brow girl.. yes I go too someone just to do my eyebrows and the $20.00 is worth every minute. She is never rushes Thur an appointment, she takes her time to get those hard to pull out ingrown hairs. She has a beautiful personality and has mad skills.. I've been going to her for over a year and will continue as my eyebrows tend to be a hot mess when they grow out.. On a side note, this is also a brand new salon, very cute and comfortable setting, I haven't had an opportunity to use their services but maybe one of these days, Since I also have a girl I go too just to do my hair.. My appointment lasted for 3 hours, which turned out to become the most boring and dead silent time I have ever spent with any hair dresser. I had came into the salon off a whim a couple months back just for trim. I saw the good reviews on yelp and figured I'd take my chances. I'm so glad I did because I found this lovely lady hair magician that handles my dry, curly, crazy hair like a boss and her name is Cadat! After a successful trim I went back to her for a drastic change of hair color (red to brown). I needed something more natural and was completely over my red hair. Along with the complete change of color she added some balayage/highlights to my layers and I couldn't be more pleased with the result. Oh and did I mention she is a brow queen as well? It is absolutely impossible for this salon to receive the maximum 5-stars from everyone who has posted here. I came here on a Groupon for a highlight & cut. On a Saturday, I was the only person there; my stylist was the only person there...that's a BIG hint, people! I described what I wanted very clearly: I wanted very natural, subtle blonde highlights (similar to what I already had, just to touch up the roots), and then I wanted to keep my bob, but just a few more layers - but NO LAYERS ABOVE THE CHIN, please. I was very specific about this. First, the highlight: the "stylist" never consulted with me how blonde I wanted the highlights to be. She didn't bring out a color chart, she just went into the back and started mixing the color. The placement of the foils was haphazard, and by the end of it - despite using a toner - the blonde highlights were TOO bright. BRASSY, in fact. I thought it was "livable", but in only a few short weeks, the new growth is already too long and too dark! I've never had a highlight grow out in *less* than a month. At this point, I already knew I wouldn't be back. Then the "stylist" proceeded with the cut. Again, she did not re-consult with me about the cut (after spending an hour with the highlight). My bob turned into a SHAG...and not even a tolerably cute shag like the "Rachel"...no. More like a "CAROL BRADY" shag!!! I asked her to take a little more of the weight/length off the back - which she barely did, and I walked out looking like a throw-back to the 70's. I had to drop an additional $20 at a SuperCuts to fix the mess... OH - and throughout my appointment, random people (family? friends?) would drop by and wander in. Not for business...just to drop by and chat - which I believe was distracting to my "stylist". Look people, this isn't your friend's living room, or even a bar/club. It is a place of business! This strange revolving door of visitors just made me uncomfortable... just not okay... Save your money; save your Groupons for someplace else. Or just go to SuperCuts... you'll get a better cut. I won't be going back to Volume III. read more

I've been going to Cadat for two years for my eyebrows. I've followed her from ulta, to a random house in the Burbank hills, and finally to Volume III. That is dedication and, really, a fear of someone new giving me a permanent surprised look. Cadat has always been quick, thorough, and skillful in maintaining my lack of caterpillar brows. Today, we took our relationship to the next level, cut and color. I've lived in LA on and off for the last 14 years, and one of the greatest pains has been finding a hair stylist whom I didn't forfeit my paycheck to or had to convince how I want my hair cut. The trust developed over two years of someone putting hot wax on your face definitely comes into play in the cut and color arena especially when I've never had my hair color done before. I also saw some sample of the styles and cuts they've done so far. I like what I saw hence the appointment I made. The staff were very warm and accomodating. The salon was pretty chic, clean, and well organized. My stylist was Janai and I'm happy with her work! She took the time to talk to me and make sure that she have a clear understanding of what I want. She carefully examined my hair (she didn't have much to work with ) and discussed her game plan. First off let me say this salon is truly a hidden gem!!! A friend recommended I come here so I gave it a shot! Janine did my hair! She is amazing! I love her personality! She's so sweet and laid back! First off I came in with a dark brown base and a bunch of ugly blonde highlights on top. The last stylist i went to attempted a bayalage or whatever you call it. And it wasn't cute. I payed $200 for that. So when I got to Volume iii I had that, with my roots grown out. Janine did my roots. Partial highlights and a trim! First of all I have loooooots of hair! Stylists usually take 5 hours on my hair! She took 2 and a half! She is so fast (in a good way) ! On top of that I used a groupon that was a cut + partial highlight for $55 ! I have a lot of hair though so I knew it was going to be more. My total came out to $140! A cut, highlights, and roots! She also styled it for free as a graduation gift! She's amazing! This place is awesome! I'd been looking around for a deal on a haircut off and on for about a month. When I came across a Groupon deal for a haircut and eyebrow shaping at Volume III, I bought it. I was a little hesitant because this place was fairly new and I'd read about other places who treated Groupon users badly... but the Yelp reviews sold me. I was getting about 10 inches of hair cut off so I was a little nervous but I wanted to donate it and get rid of the length for summer. Kristin cut my hair and she did a great job! She knew exactly what I wanted and I am very happy with my new style. The eyebrow shaping was just an added bonus. FANTASTIC. I had a partial highlight, cut, and blow dry by Kristin today. This salon is absolutely adorable, relaxing, and clean! I hate stuffy, overly scented, cluttered salons. This chic little salon is a breath of fresh air. They had great music playing, the salon is tastefully decorated, and the chairs and shampoo chair are super comfortable. No more feeling like your neck is on the chopping block while you are getting your hair washed. Kristin gave me an amazing cut and color, AND this girl knows how to give a nice shampoo. She actually washes your hair and rubs your scalp, no scratching or half assed washing going on here. This is definitely my new salon. I was so relaxed during my visit, I can't rave enough. My haircut was awesome; I actually had to look up the word 'awesome' in a dictionary to make sure that I was using it aptly and to its full potential. And yes, yes I am: my haircut is, and will be, awe inspiring. Janine is an extremely dynamic hair stylist and walks you through what she's doing as she's doing it, thusly you end up walking out of the place knowing your hair will look the same if you do it yourself after a shower or a water balloon fight (which you'll win, simply because of the higher self-confidence you'll have with the new haircut). I got my hair cut on my lunch break and she was very quick, but personable and friendly (I know that as a guy it's a faster process, but in case any of you girls want to cut all your hair off, she'll be pretty quick about it). When I got back to work, everyone marveled at my hair as they applauded me, standing up off of their chairs. I heard a woman faint as she exclaimed, "Must be the vapors!" A man, who I've never met before, shook my hand with a single tear rolling down his cheek and a child thanked me for inspiring them with a promise of achieving greatness. I live in the area so after a few Yelp searches this place seemed like they knew what they were doing. I called to ask about prices so I went in knowing a ballpark figure. So, I walked in with no appointment. I think Janine was the girl who was there and she was so sweet, she called her employees to find someone who would come in to work and take me as a walk in. So an hour later I was met by Kat. I showed Kat a pic of what I wanted and off we went. I was prepared to have to spill my life story and make up small talk for the next 3 hours but no, lucky for me, Kat wasn't much of a talker either. Their awesome Spotify station filled our silence for 3 hours lol. Any who, we couldn't get the color I initially wanted since I have repeated years of dark coloring, but she did give me a new cut that I absolutely loved and some highlights. I am happy with the results. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the prices are crazy expensive!! Over $200 for cut and highlights.
