It's a 1-on-1 visit so if you're like me and don't have a clue about hair styles, she's able to answer any questions you might not feel comfortable asking in a busier salon environment. I went to Gaby for the 1st time today, for a full color and a haircut. First thing to note: She is taking this Covid pandemic VERY seriously and I felt 100% safe in her salon. She was clean and thorough. Only one client in the salon at any given time. Amazing. Secondly: This is maybe the greatest haircut I've ever had. I showed her a few pictures of "inspiration" and we talked for a good 5 minutes about my wants/needs and expectations. She totally understood the type of hair she was dealing with, and was even telling me about my scalp health! Amazing, again! Third, and final point: She's a gem of a human and a pleasure to chat with. The hour and 15 I was with her flew by. My husband and I feel safe getting our hair done at Gaby's (and we are majorly following COVID protocols). Her studio extremely clean, and she takes every step imaginable to make sure that her customers' "presence" and belongings are separated from the rest of the salon to prevent spread. This is very important to prevent cross-contamination. She only allows one person in the salon at a time, so it's only you and her at all times. She also staggers her visits so she can clean and ventilate the salon between visits. You must wear your mask at all times and sanitize constantly. This is a dream come true for me (I am a safety regulator at another store, so I know everything that goes into keeping people safe during COVID!). You are probably safer being in her salon than you are being at home. It also help that she constantly gives me the best cut/color I've ever had, and that her products are high-quality. I would definitely recommend her Olaplex shampoos/conditioners if you have thin hair that's dyed a dark color. It's pricey, but it lasts a long time and is worth it. read more

Ended up here today by chance for a haircut (based on Yelp reviews as I was already in Burbank) and loved the result. I rarely go back to the same place, as there's so many stylists out there, and I've not really been blown away by any, (pun intended)--but I will go back to Gaby. She was honest about what my hair was and wasn't doing for me, gave me options without pushing any one of them, and has a clean, zen-like salon with the latest products. I didn't know that she only works with one person at a time and I didn't realize how much I would love that, (apart from my boyfriend who was waiting for me--which was also super sweet). One too many bad haircuts and one too many times where she forgot I had an appointment and I was fed up, I had to switch to Floyd's on Hollywood Way. She never apologized or offered a discount on services for not showing up for scheduled appointments. I walked out of there on a few occasions with a haircut that looked like it was done by a beauty school drop out. Maybe she should stick to women's cuts. read more

One of my main reasons for initially choosing Gaby's was proximity- it's literally a 5 minute walk from where I live. I don't typically get my hair cut very often because I find that I always end up with the same cut, without the stylist really caring. Gaby immediately diagnosed me, you could say, and really took the time to talk about what I wanted and would work best for my face and hair type. Finally, someone who cared! The whole cut experience was very relaxing and I felt like she genuinely was taking care of me. The atmosphere was serene and spa-like, without the hectic noise and pop radio blaring of most salons. Personalized service: When you're in her chair, she doesn't deal with walk-ins, or even those who want to wait for her to finish with you. So there's no pressure for her to finish up your service so she can put another body in the chair. 3. A very tailored cut and color. This review is long over due. I've gone to Gaby's a few times now and I'm always impressed with her work. First of all she only sees one person at a time! The place is super cute with a zen-like feel to it! She assesses your hair and makes recommendations of quality products that won't break the bank and you can find in your local drug store or market. She absolutely takes her time with her clients and I always feel satisfied when I leave! I just recently did a dramatic change with my hair: cut off like 7 inches and colored it purple! She knows I don't normally do much styling so she cut in a way that it looks good without much maintenance and the color is dramatic yet pretty subtle! I love it! I just went to Gaby's and I am so impressed with my new haircut! I had long hair that needed a change and she layered it beautifully and gave me cute side swept bangs and I'm crazy about the way it looks now. I love love love it. Upon arriving I had no idea how much build up and gross junk had been plaguing my hair and scalp and the moment Gaby looked at the roots of my hair she told me straight up what I needed to fix and how to do it. She could answer any questions I had (and I had plenty) and would recommend products that would better my hair whether she sold them or not; I really felt like she just wanted my hair to be the top priority and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need and told me where to find the cheapest products that would benefit me most. She also went through the procedure herself to show me how to care for my hair and gave me free samples to take home and try out. She also wants me to text and update her on my hair status in two weeks! I felt very taken care of the whole time and now I know how to manage my hair better. Just overall a really good place to go. Gaby's is a little pricey however it's well worth it (and not as much as she could charge for her skills let's be real) and id recommend her to anyone who wants to get a great haircut on top of advice and hair therapy. Being able to find a quality salon is incredibly hard!! Fortunately for me, I found Gaby. After experimenting with a handful of mediocre salons, I finally found a stylist who speaks my language. Gaby asked me questions about my hair routine and explained what cuts worked for my face shape. THAT'S ALL I'VE EVER WANTED FROM A STYLIST!! Never has anyone ever told me what cut looked good on me, all they ever did was agree with my ideas, not caring if the style fit my face shape. I love that she only sees one person at a time and that she gives you useful tips throughout your visit. She showed me how to blow-dry my hair and let me take pictures of the products she used on me. I called on a Thursday to try to book an apt for Saturday. Gaby didn't have much open that day, so after some looking said, "what about 6:30pm tomorrow instead?" I thought about it for a minute, because I would have to leave work a bit early on Friday. I confirmed though, as I figured it would be worth it. I left work early, got to Gaby's for 6:30pm on Friday, only to have her say, "no, I told you 6:30pm on SATURDAY". This is a review for my sister, who is way to nice to speak up and say anything bad about anyone. I just saw her hair after she paid 300 DOLLARS for the worst color job I've ever seen. I was beyond shocked! Her roots are orange and the rest of her hair is dark brown, I'm really confused that a professional would allow a client to walk out looking that way knowing that it is a representation of them and their work! Literally my mind is blown. My sister doesn't even know I'm writing this bc she is so embarrassed she was taken advantage of. I only wish I was there to have been able to speak for her.
