I asked if they could give my young son a quick haircut, and the stylist, Lucas, kindly agreed despite being busy. Lucas was extremely professional, patient, and gentle with my son. Absolutely, the worst hair cut I've ever had. I walked in wanting Taylor Swift bangs. I was told to come back later when the stylist is in. I came back later just to have the same man cut my bangs. The entire experience was shady. I sat down in his chair and noticed his tools were labeled Andi. I asked him if that is his name and he said no. It is the brand's name..... It was handwritten and said Andi. FYI, I believe it was Joseph, the manager. I specifically asked him not to use thinning shears but I said if you think thinning shears is best you can use them. He used them the entire time. When I said the bangs were to long, he shortened them with thinning shears. My bangs are now too short and like spider legs. They are so thin that you can see my forehead no matter which way I comb them. I am going to have to wear headbands and clip-ins for about four months. Additionally, he cut into the sides of my hair for the bangs which will need to easily grow out for a year to make even resemble anything that makes sense. Do not go here. I believe they had the man that's supposed to just wash hair cut my hair. I thought about not leaving a review but I felt that I needed to protect other people. I posted a pic. On a Saturday morning, I called to see if I could take my son for a haircut and was told to just walk in. So a little later when we got there, Joseph (the manager) told me they were fully booked for the day and to make an appointment for the next day. I should've never even gone back as that should've been my red flag. But we had a party to attend the next day so I decided to make an appointment for 11 am the next morning. When we got there for our appointment, we were told that the stylist who does kid's hairstyles doesn't come in until noon. I was pretty mad at the unprofessionalism and the horrible scheduling. Any other time I would've just walked away and never gone back, but his hair was really long and we desperately needed that haircut, so I waited a whole hour. They need to close this business. They book appointments only to be understaffed & by understaffed I mean like only one person at the salon thee entire day. Because apparently employees come in whenever they feel like it. I went in in person to inquire about dying my hair. Liz told me it was no problem, gave me her number to contact her regarding appointment. Texted Liz on May 5th to set up an appointment. We agreed for May 12th at 11am for full dye & highlights. Got there on time. Sat down in the chair for literally 10 minutes while she was texting trying to get a hold of the rest of the staff if they were or weren't coming in. Meanwhile customers are lining up at the front door. After 10 minutes she comes over to me & asks me (again) what I want done. And says that my hair is WAYYYYYYY too long & too much (hair thickness of four women & length of basically repunzal) & she would be here until 7pm. I'm like oooookay? So then why take me on as a customer & book an appointment with me? She laughs & says "omg you have an appointment?" I'm like yeah.... I have the text messages, I spoke to you on the phone & you saw me in person for the price quote. She goes "oh wow I had no idea. Well I'm alone today, my hair color guy isn't coming in today. So I can't do your hair today." I was so INFURIATED, I just asked her why does she book appointments & waste people time if she isn't a sure thing. Afterwards I just walked out pissed off, I wasn't gonna blow up in front of random strangers. But I will be calling to make a complaint. That's unacceptable! It's Mother's Day today. Update - went again today (got a free blowout coupon from the grand opening, which was great) but had to update my original 3 stars to now 1. Great location, and still early...but just such a ridiculous process today. Had hair done by a stylist who said he had been there 2 weeks, understandable since this place just had a grand opening a month or so ago. He then washes my hair (great products / wash) but proceeds to do this whole crazy setup with huge curlers promising "Vegas" curls which I didn't even want. Still fine. But then after this whole hour long ordeal of blow drying, setting up the curlers, undoing and re-setting, my hair is left STILL with too much product (see original review below) and the curls literally fell out after I left (see photo). In any case, I do hope the stylists improve, as they're super nice and the location is fantastic. Gave the benefit of the doubt below / originally, not sure if I should anymore. Original review: I hope I get to update this review! I discovered this via groupon, and LOVE the convenient location. They did just open, so I would definitely want to come back and see how the experience improves. For now - overall a little confusing. Gorgeous setup, great products, but left my appointment with sticky roots because of overuse of said products. Had to go home and re-wash + blow dry my hair, when I didn't expect to have to do that. I tried the conditioning treatment, which seems to have worked well, and the salon staff / stylists were all very kind/professional. Was very pleased with this salon. I came in for a blowout and was treated to a complimentary make up service. The blowouts cost 29$ and haircuts are 45$ (which isn't bad by LA standards) they use Paul Mitchell and Aveda products (which smell really good). I had my hair done first thing in the morning and it looked great for the rest of the day. The stylists were friendly and professional and the salon is clean and bright. You check in on an iPad at the front desk and they use a text alert system. Overall a great experience, I am looking forward to getting a haircut at my next visit! read more

I went to the salon yesterday for a cut and blow dry. My cut and blow dry were fine however, when it came time to pay I went into shock. I was told that a haircut for long hair was now $65.00 and that a blow dry was not included anymore and would be $40.00. I was given $20.00 off so it cost me $85.00 for a simple cut and blow dry. Without the discount it would have been $105.00 total at Simple Salon!! When I got home I looked at the card I was given with the price list and services. Under Haircut Long it says that the $65.00 includes consultation, shampoo and blow dry. So I texted the hair stylist and asked why I was charged for a blow dry and I was told that "It doesn't include full blow dry, what it means on the card is just drying the hair", Crazy! How would my hair get dried?? It's not as if my hair is that long, it's shoulder length. Then, to add insult to injury they don't even use good products anymore. I have no idea what they were but they definitely weren't Aveda or Paul Mitchell. It seems that whoever now owns this franchise is only concerned about money and not customer care. For the price they are now charging I can go to a better salon. read more

I've never left a negative review for anyone; I always try to be kind, recognize when we have poor days, and that we all make mistakes. There were many lovely aspects of this salon, but I feel my hair is ruined due to a lack of effort. Pros and cons are below with photos. Pros - products smell amazing and staff was friendly. - super clean - great products Cons - went in to have my hair separated and washed to keep the color from bleeding as it was very expensive, was told "the color is locked in it won't get in the blonde," and proceeded to have it washed normally - hair is now pink where it was once white - the entire reason I came in was to avoid ruining my hair myself when I washed it, so the fact that a salon did this is devastating - $450 of color correction at my home salon down the drain - feel like someone hurt the artwork on my head Again, I hate leaving negative reviews and my hair was so pretty before; it's now just a 7/10, when it was a 10/10. Good: Elizabeth is a fun person (she gave me a great info on Armenian pizza place) and did ok job on my hair (she was taking time on my hair, it seems like an apprentice... but she did a good job on washing hair). Bad: She was having too much fun... chatting with other two hair stylists while she was working on my hair (I was afraid of her spit on my hair)... I was going to give her 20% tip, but I gave her 15% tip... it was $50.60. Over $50 is expensive for this quality. Dear Elizabeth, Sorry... Elizabeth, you are a nice fun person, but you need to learn how to take care of customer and be professional (focus on work/customer without chatting with your people/staff). On July 26, 2022 I went into this salon for a haircut. The girl that usually cuts my hair was out of town so I called there and another hairdresser said I can come in and she would do the cut. I got there and it was getting close to closing so I did appreciate that she took me in. She asked if I wanted her to wash my hair and my response was, " Well it's always nice to have it washed when you're getting it cut." However, she did not wash it. She started spraying it with water and I didn't want to push it because I appreciated that she was fitting me in before they closed. After the cut, I stood up and looked at the floor. I said, "Is that all you took off?" Her response was , "We have to wait for it to grow out so we can even it out." There was hardly any hair on the floor. I've seen more hair on a mustache than what she took off. When I got home, I noticed there was barely any difference and the next day, I curled my hair and it was exactly like it was before I had it cut. I reached out to this hairdresser on her IG and told her I was unhappy and she offered to do it again. If I was unhappy with her style/cut methods, why would I allow her to do it again? It should have been done right the first time. I asked for a refund. She said she didn't have the authority to give a refund but she would ask her manager. She got back to me and said the manger would not allow a refund. This manager made no effort to contact me or offer me a solution. Having a manger not respond to a dissatisfied customer is poor business practice. I was charged $35 for a few hairs being trimmed off, no wash, a quick blow dry and I left the girl an $ 8 or 9 dollar tip. If you need a haircut and don't care what it looks like, then maybe this is the place for you but I will not return. Some may say "what did you expect, $35 is cheap for a cut" and they would be right which leads me to the old adage, ""You get what you pay for""" read more

For some reason I can't seem to find the Arcadia location within the Santa Anita mall but every time I've gone, the service has been phenomenal! Not only do the stylists do an amazing job and constantly check in for approval, they also make you feel incredibly welcome! Natalie did a fringe trim for me and my bangs have never looked better! This Simple Salon in Burbank has the worst customer service. I made an appointment for my 88 year old mother who has a handicap. It was a lot of work to get her to the salon. When we arrived, on time, the two stylists were busy with other customers and they didn't seem to know that I had made an appointment. I said I expected for my mother to be seen on time and one of the stylists with red wavy shoulder length hair laughed at us. It was quite rude and I felt sorry for my mother who she laughed at. Oasis is AMAZING at what he does. Extremely skilled and very talented. He can tell you things about your hair that you never knew. He basically sculpted my hair around my head (which is very difficult for other people to do). Simple salon is more than just a salon. It's an experience. From the moment you walk in you are greeted with smiles and handshakes. I never felt like this before at any place I walked into to get a haircut. Most hair salons and barbers make you feel as if you're a chore. But not this place. They make every second count. So I'm sorta a socialite here in Los Angeles and I host events, attend red carpets, and try to look the best and stand out always! The name of the place is Simple and take it from me whose been living the Aveda life for 10 years this was the best salon experience I've ever had! I learned that taking my dark brown hair with previous highlights and making my whole head platinum blond was not easy but this awesome team in Burbank made it just that. I had to bleach twice and the entire staff worked together on it including a cut that made it simply perfection. The ladies were fun and funny. They knew exactly what they were doing. They also played good music. As I saw customers come in during my stint there they were either regulars or newbies and it literally felt like I was in a cinematic version of a beauty salon. Like Reese Witherspoon was chatting next to me about legal advice. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this place and am happy to promote it with this great result. The name on the sign caught me, because I have paid and been quoted some RIDICULOUS prices for my simple trim and one process color in this town! And that's saying a lot since I'm from New York.
