Terrible experience. Booked movers with a few weeks' notice for a specific day, and was told that they have trucks going out all the time and it's the slow season so it should be absolutely no problem to get someone out here that day. Then I was called the afternoon before my move and told that they suddenly had to delay pickup for 4 days and there was nothing they could do about it. Completely unreliable and left me in a really tough spot. I am incredibly displeased with my experience, do not risk your move with these people! I was jerked around for hours before they finally admitted for sure that they couldn't get anyone out here, which took further time from me searching for a last minute mover for a 1,000 mile move. From the initial booking with Herbert on the phone to the actual move day, my experience with this company was great. My movers Joe and JR were on time, courteous, efficient and most importantly highly respectful of my property. I was only moving a block but they still took the time to properly wrap the furniture and more fragile items. They were very quick too- I had a studio apartment worth of stuff going into a one bedroom and they were able to complete everything in about 4 hours. Would highly recommend! read more

Terrible people. First off I requested an email quote. These clowns started calling me at 6:30 am California time. Ya I am doing a cross country move but come on people get a clue. Not everyone is in your time zone. They called twice. Left no voice mail. When I called back the jerk on the phone started asking for personal info. I told him thanks for your time but you are not going to get my business and he just hung up. Now this is the company I want moving my belongings. Ya I think not. Full disclosure - my wife and I utilized a different moving company for our needs. BUT with that said, I wanted to write this review to speak about my experience of dealing with Herbert and his company through our communication via phone and email. As many of you have probably experienced if you're looking at reviews on moving companies, you get bombarded with 10+ companies vying for your business. It's tiring, it's cumbersome, and you just wish you had a genie who would grant you that wish of transporting all of your possessions into your new place. Herbert reached out to me and was very pleasant to speak with from start to finish. We spoke in detail about the needs my family required, and I would say it was a 100% thorough analysis of not only the inventory that we had, but also the extra services we may need (ie packing supplies, storage of items between the move, other unthought of potential costs etc). He worked with me to get an estimate that would more than fit our needs for the move, as well as comped certain extras costs that other companies sometimes comp or sometimes charge for. He sent multiple emails recapping our conversations and was very responsive when either I called, or emailed out to him asking a question. We chose a different moving company because it was what my wife requested (for certain reasons unrelated to our experience with Volt specifically) and of course I want to keep her happy and obliged. But I would extremely recommend someone who was considering Volt that they seem honest and reputable, and to utilize Herbert if you possibly can. Best of luck in your future move consumer! read more

I used Volt to move from New York to Boston. They were very professional and efficient when working with my co-op board to get their insurance and paperwork in place. They answered all my questions and were nice. Not so nice after I paid them. Once they showed up I thought it was strange a professional moving company would come in a truck rented from budget. When they started packing everything, they insisted on "crating" many of my items to protect them and proceeded to charge me extra for this. It was strange because their crating involved cutting regular boxes around the glass areas and using tape to hold it together. (To their credit, this did a good job of protecting the items, but was very expensive). The truck left my apartment and I went downtown to pick up a rental car. I left New York about an hour after the truck did, but got to boston over 3 hours before the truck. When I questioned this, they said that their mapquest directions had them go through a parkway that didn't allow trucks and that they had to stop for lunch. I even spent 30 minutes on the phone trying to guide the truck once it was lost. After my issues with the move the sales guy refused to discuss my claims on travel time and damaged items. They were very unprofessional in dealing with my claim after they were paid and didn't seem to want to meet me half way on my requests. If you use Volt, make sure you finalize what you are paying at the end of the move, don't expect it to be resolved via claims afterwards to your satisfaction. read more

Michael, was very helpful when I followed up on the quote. His team was very friendly when they picked up my things for me and moved it cross country. Had a Very Good Experience. They were on time in the morning to pickup eveything. They picked up everything and moved it really fast. They were really efficient and affordable. Their charges are really low as compared to other companies. They delivered everything on time and no damage was done. I will definitely use them if i have to move again. read more

I moved a 3 bedroom house from Atlanta to Flushing New York last week with Volt movers. The price I payed for move was $2356, that is $95 more than the original estimate. They charge me $95.00 more for what they call "long carry service" with the excuse that the truck is to big to park in front of my house, and they must park the truck around the block. Other than that they did a pretty decent job. Hat they not charged me the extra $95, i would give them 4 stars rating. read more

Normally I don't complain about how bad a business is, but this time it's out of hand. The wife and I recently moved to Arizona and hired themto move our stuff from Washington. We talked to Herbert and got everything dealt with. We got the ok to pay with a credit card for it all. 2 weeks went by, come to find out they have loaded it on a different truck which they weren't suppose to, then gave us a 12 hour notice of we had to pay the rest in cash although upon signing the contract we had agreed to paying with the card. Long story short, the truck that all of your stuff is on is only an hour away and now headed back to Washington. read more

My experience started out great but ended up not so great. Anthony arranged the contract and scheduled my dates for pickup. The day of my pickup the driver called me from Austin to tell me that his truck had broken down and he would be unable to come to pack up my belongings. This was rescheduled for 2 days later and I was told I would get a $100 credit on my next move.....honestly I could have use that money on the initial move because the likely hood that I will use this company again is zero. One person showed up at my storage shed and I ended up helping him move my things from the shed into the back of the truck which would later be moved into another vehicle. If I would not have helped him he would have been there all day clearing out the storage shed. So this was on Wednesday March 26th, 2017. I was told that my things would be on the road in by the end of the week. On April 5, 2017 I called and asked about whereof belongings were and was told they were leaving the state of Texas that day. So everything sat in Texas for 9 days before ever leaving. On April 11, 2017 my belongings were finally delivered to Wisconsin. 2 boxes that were marked as fragile, hand with care were actually crushed and coming apart consequently some of the contents inside were broken. I most unbelievable things was prior to the delivery "Bob" called and told my daughter that the payment would be 350$ upon delivery. Good thing I had given her the invoice that said she only owed $290. Disappointing experience to say the least and the trucks don't say Volt Relocation on them, the company contracts out to carriers that just drive their own trucks etc. Buyer Beware....... Crooks is a great word for this company. If I could give them a negative rating I would. First off, they were almost 2 days later picking up my stuff then they said. Moving is tricky. It is time sensitive. I am moving from Austin to the east coast ...halfway across the country. I HAD a schedule to keep. The "manager" on the phone said he could give me a discount on my next move. Like I would use them again!! That was just the beginning. I was given an estimated quote ($1,500). I drop a $100 deposit & was told I pay half at pickup & half at delivery. Not so!! The final price was double what I was quoted. Not a few extra hundred bucks, but a whole other $1,500. YES!! Total came to over $3,000. I was pissed!!! That's not it. Then I was told I had to give 70% at pick up. So my $700 cash I was ready to give them turned into me owing them $2,300 on the spot!!! This was just this weekend. I have not gotten my stuff delivered yet, but I am scared to death of what kind of experience I am going to have. The ONLY good thing was the 2 guys (which they also promised me that 3 guys would be there ...so took longer) were very polite, apologetic, and professional. The only professionals I have seen at this company so far. Stay away from Volt!!! They'll lie & rip you off!! read more

ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! Movers arrived 1 day late for move out when I was no longer in the same state, showed up 11 days for move in, wanted additional $350 but failed to provide updated charges' receipt prior to move in. Then refused to deliver anything for previous amount. Drive couldn't even find apartment complex yet call themselves "professional movers"? To get my stuff back they want an additional $1,000. People on the phone have been rude, unprofessional, have talked back and not been helpful. For the price it'll cost to get my stuff back, I could have re-bought half of my things. I'm currently sleeping on the floor for the past 18 days, still waiting to find out when my stuff will arrive. Thousands of dollars worth of furniture and clothes still waiting to be delivered. I should have moved it myself and hired loaders and unloaders, would have been cheaper and WAY more reliable. Don't go with these crooks! read more
