In October 2025 I had my electrical panel on my 45-year-old house replaced by Kyle Chamberlain of…read moreChamberlain Electric. I'd seen a recommendation on NextDoor and also his good Google reviews. His quote was fairly priced (another contractor had quoted me $2000 more for the same work), but what impressed me MOST before the job was that his communication was EXCELLENT -- fast and responsive. This is a rare thing, and for people who tend to be anxious, it's a necessity. He arranged for the power drop, installed the new panel and breakers, got the inspector out, and ordered the power restoration, and it all took less than eight hours. Another company had expected ME to arrange for the power drop/restoration and inspection! This job could not possibly have gone better. Kyle is courteous and pleasant, and unlike so many people in the trades, did NOT condescend or assume that this little old lady is an idiot (I'm not). He came back the next day with a helper to label the breakers in the new panel and that took only about a half hour. Kyle is terrific and so is his work. HIGHLY recommended for any electrical needs you may have.

Peter was very responsive when I put out a call on Yelp for an EV Charger Installation job. He was…read moreable to give me an estimate for the work without scheduling a home visit--instead, I sent him photos he requested of my garage space, breaker boxes, etc. While theirs was not the cheapest estimate, it was far from the most expensive (and our job, done optimally, required running conduit and wire to the other side of our house). Since Duke Energy offers a ~$1100 credit/rebate for the installation labor and materials, we ended up paying only a few hundred out of pocket for the service (note: you have to buy the charging hardware unit separately and the Duke credit does not work toward it, only labor/materials of the electrician). They are licensed and did the work properly with permitting and made sure our invoice included all the details Duke required in order to get the rebate processed. Felipe and his helper, the electricians assigned to our job, were friendly and super fast. The Durham inspector reviewed their work the next week and signed off on it instantly. Throughout the process, Peter continued to be responsive regarding questions, scheduling, etc., communicating via text which was my preference. Even invoiced via text so I could just pay online (also my preference). Yes, I'd call them again.

Bottom line up front, Guiding Light Electric LLC's owner, Wes Sartain did a thorough and…read moreprofessional job for me. I contracted with his company to have the Delta Ultra Pro II Backup Power System by Eco Flow installed at my home, and thus far I'm very pleased. This technology is so new that the County Inspector said mine was the third one he had seen. This was the first time Wes had installed one, and even though there were some minor complication(s) with the initial link up process; after much research and surprisingly excellent and timely responses from Eco Flow Customer Service regarding those issues, he was able to resolve them. A slight caveat; make darn certain that you research the system's capabilities and how you want to integrate it with your home. The technology can be a bit tricky, which means it's important to understand what it can do, and what it can't do. Wes explained to me that the two batteries I chose to start with should adequately suffice my power needs during an unexpected outage. So far, his assessment is on point. We had thunderstorm one night a few weeks ago, and our grid power went out. However, my wife and I didn't know that until we tried to turn on an electrical appliance that is not backed up by the Ultra Pro ll. Yes, the switch over was just that seamless. Definitely have a keen understanding of how many batteries will be required to sustain the residual operations you want powered once the power grid goes offline. Due to the cost, I decided to start with just two batteries, but plan to add another soon. I strongly recommend that once you're ready to pull the trigger on purchasing one, you won't regret it. Lastly, if you reside in Johnston, Wake, Wilson and Wayne Counties, Wes Sartain is your guy for this particular install.
