(Apr 3rd 2026) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1idRmiA_rTb79Px86Dh3ciyBIhWDttizr/view?usp=drive_link The quote to replace that Oil pan and labor was more than 1000$ and Acura temporarily fixed it as I was driving and in a hurry and was away from home /Abbott's Auto Service (more than 120 miles away) that too over weekend. Following Monday I called Abbott's and informed. The response was "Bring the car, We are going to look at it". I told front desk that Acura fixed it temporarily and am hesitant to reopen that engine oil jar again next day. so told Abbott's, we will look at it during next oil change or if starts leaking again. I should not have treated as friendly neighborhood service shop. That was my mistake. ------------------------ Previous reply of yours is your understanding of the recent situation, but I want to be entirely clear: this was never about money, nor did I ever ask for a refund. My concern has always been about receiving basic respect, proper service, and professional conduct. To clarify the timeline of events: August 5th-6th (First Vehicle): I dropped off my first car on the 5th. Although I never received a call with an estimate, I paid for the DRL service over the phone without question when told it was ready on the 6th. When I picked it up after hours, I immediately noticed incomplete assembly work on the fender--including missing screws and plugs--without even needing to bend down (photo attached). August 6th-7th ( Refund Mistake & Escalation): I dropped off my second car on the 6th. When I returned on August 7th to pick it up, I paid for that car. Once it is completed, I showed the photo of the botched assembly on the first vehicle. Instead of listening or handling the matter professionally, the front desk employee became aggressive immediately, mechanic joined to his rant, and ordered me out of the office simply for asking questions about work I paid for. If you have a front desk video take a look. To make matters worse, the amount your shop later returned was actually for the second vehicle--which was less than what I paid for the DRL service on the first car--proving the refund wasn't even for the service in question and highlighting the sheer arrogance and negligence of your team. As a paying customer, I will not tolerate that level of hostility and entitlement--especially over an error as simple as failing to reinstall screws and body plugs. At the time, I mistakenly assumed the front desk employee was the owner, which is why I tried to reason with him directly. If you saw how your staff behaves when leadership isn't around, you would realize how severely they damage your shop's reputation. To make matters worse, on August 10th--only after I posted my initial review--the front desk employee called to apologize and admitted his behavior on August 7th was wrong. I declined to speak with him further, only to see your response on Yelp shortly after. This sequence makes it glaringly obvious that your shop prioritizes online damage control over treating in-person customers with basic respect. Excuses I heard on that day. 1) My screws are dirty. 2) Repeated MECANIC ARGUED QUESTION: "ARE YOU OK IF I CHARGE YOU 120$ TO FIX THOSE SCREWS" YES OR NO. He asked me to answer YES OR NO answer only. what is your answer if you are in my shoes? I would like to hear that to understand what your answer would be as customer/business owner? I will hear what your explanation also.

My rating is based on the overall customer experience at Richmond Ford West. When I walked into the service reception area, it took quite a while before anyone acknowledged me. I understand that some employees were busy helping customers or on the phone, but there were others who weren't occupied. Even a simple "Hi, we'll be with you shortly" would have made a big difference. Instead, I was left standing there feeling unsure of where to go or if anyone knew I was waiting. I had an appointment to have two tires replaced, and the tires were already in stock, so I expected the service to take about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Instead, I waited nearly 3 hours. Delays can happen, but better communication would have gone a long way. A quick update or an estimated completion time would have helped manage expectations. I understand that businesses can be short-staffed, and I know those situations aren't always within the employees' control. However, when staffing is limited, hospitality and communication become even more important. A warm greeting, acknowledging customers, and providing updates throughout the process can make a huge difference in the overall experience. Those small interactions help customers feel valued, even when wait times are longer than expected. Overall, the work on my vehicle was good, but the customer service and communication throughout the visit didn't match the level of service I was expecting to get from a premium dealership. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future customers.

I broke down on the side of I-295 and was honestly crying hysterically, trying to figure out what to do next. I searched for the closest shop and found Virginia Automotive Service--and I'm so grateful I did. AAA towed my car there, and when I called, they were upfront that they weren't sure if they could fit me in. Despite that, they made it happen and took care of my car the same day. That alone meant the world to me. I was a little embarrassed because my car was a mess--I had breakfast, snacks, and things scattered everywhere--but not once did they make me feel uncomfortable about it. They were kind, professional, and completely understanding. What really stood out was their communication. They kept me updated throughout the entire day, explaining everything they found and even sending pictures so I could clearly see what was going on. That level of transparency and care is rare. The service was truly outstanding, and they turned a really overwhelming, emotional day into something manageable. I would absolutely go out of my way to return to them for future car service. Highly recommend!

I did find a coupon on there web site. 60 bucks full synthetic oil change, filter and some get ready for summer stuff. I am disappointed at how I was received by Kit. It was jarring and strikingly unprofessional…read more Redirections such as "I think we got off on the wrong foot" and "I am not making any statements on your character, I am making an 'i' statement" were repeatedly unsuccessful. Again this is someone whose shirt i complimented, with whom both of us had been cordial, but could not be talked into a calm state. All of this because i leveled with him and expressed nebulously aimed frustration over a job that didn't last for the drive home, as the explanation for why i was asking for a redo. I asked him, "i mean objectively, you can understand why I would expect it to last till i reached home two miles away?". His rumination on the phrase "i felt ripped off" in response to the crashwrap beginning to peel off 0.5 miles from the facility was self-driven. That being said, why even recommend this as a temporary fix if I can't drive home with it? I would've liked it done right the first time and that's fair to express. We don't have to agree or see eye to eye and it's his right to feel I'm overly difficult. It was suggested that I should've cleaned my car first, not that they should've wiped it down the first time before applying wrap. (The car wasn't in the shop to have any crashwrap applied, so why would I have wiped it?) Ultimately I paid $104 to get an issue diagnosed and temporary tape put on the sunroof. I'm frustrated that I'm out $100 and the issue is not any closer to being fixed. The technician himself was amiable and communicative and the owner is also a pleasant man to work with. That being said this experience has burnt this spot for me. Having a disagreeable person work for you isn't a dealbreaker but maybe don't place him front of house.
