A friend and I stopped in late for some noodles. We ordered the shaved noodles with brisket and one of us ordered the beef shank on recommendation of the guy working the register. While he wanted us that the peppercorn sauce may numb our tongues, I think that got lost in translation! Our other choices were a salty sauce (described as a brown sauce that isn't that salty really) and a sweet and sour sauce. We could get it as a soup or stir fry. We wanted stir fry. The beef was tender and juicy and cooked perfectly as was the bok choy in the stir fry. The noodles were silky and soft, with a great mouth feel. The peppercorn sauce left our tongues numb though and we could NOT figure out what was going on because we didn't pick that up in the convo when we ordered! I finally asked the waitress who gave us the whole reason behind the untraditional and traditional sauce options! She said that when COVID hit, mostly Americans ordered and they adapted a sweet and sour sauce for them that they love. When things opened back up, they went back to peppercorn sauce because the Chinese like it and it is traditionally served near the Guangzhou province. It all made sense! She said next time, we could try the salty sauce, which I will. It sounds great and I love these noodles. They make their tea strong and it is awesome. We had a black tea and a jasmine cold tea. I had been here once before and taken my mother. She was treated so sweetly by the lady who works there and it made her experience extra enjoyable. I wish I knew her name, but she is a lovely woman who cares about her customers. The staff is nice and helpful. Sometimes things get a bit lost in translation. The ambiance is lacking as it is more of a fast food-looking place, but don't let that stop you from going! Last trip, I had dumplings and noodles that rocked my world. I was so happy! The one bad thing about this place is the sewage smell from the building both times I have visited. I hate it because they can't do anything about it! It isn't their fault and shouldn't keep you from delicious noodles, but it is very noticeable when you walk in. We recently stopped by to grab some boba since we were in the area grabbing dinner. Upon entering, we noticed an unpleasant scent of sewage or like there were some plumbing issues. My kids all made comments but the smell eventually went away after being there for a few minutes. They had a variety of food option and boba drinks to order from. We have yet to try their food but heard good things and ordered 5 boba. After waiting about 10 minutes for our drinks, we noticed that all of our drinks were still warm from the lack of ice. The flavor itself was delicious, we ordered the banana milk and my kids enjoyed them. We will definitely have to check them out for the second time to give this small business another try. When trying to look for this place, I was under the impression it was called One More Noodle. I believe they used to be but they changed their name to Volcano Tea House. The place is a little hard to find since it's off to the side but it's definitely worth a visit! I got the dry stir-fried shaven noodles with beef brisket (highly recommend), popcorn chicken, and a taro milk tea for under $25 which is honestly a good price. The staff were also really nice and friendly as well. I went when it was a little quiet and the owner took the time to talk to me. We ended up here at Volcano Tea House, which was a hidden gem! Volcano Tea House is an unassuming little spot, located on the side of H-Mart. The space is big and the options here are plenty and incredibly affordable. My friend got a taro slush with boba, another got mocha milk tea with boba, and I got myself a house milk tea with boba and milk pudding. Service was quick, friendly and communicative. To our pleasant surprise, all of these drinks were absolutely delicious. The flavors popped without being overly sweet or over powering. I really enjoyed my house milk tea - the classics are always a good baseline for how good a restaurant is. The only thing I will say is the boba was not very chewy. I have not tried any of them so I am unable to comment on those items. She likes the milk tea with boba and 30% sugar (anything higher is quite sweet). You know what the Internet says - an average of a 3.5 yelp star means that it's actually really good. My work colleague recommended that I come here for their food and milk tea. I had just gotten back from a work trip and was running errands, which is never a good combination. I needed a little pick me up to get through the rest of my day so I went to Volcano to get milk tea. Out of all the boba places I've tried around the Denver metro area, Volcano definitely is #2 (technically #1 because my favorite place closed). Their black tea is strong and the milk does not overpower it. Like a true Asian, I got 25% sugar and 50% ice which was perfect. I'm not a huge boba fan so I get grass jelly instead. I highly recommend people try grass jelly if you don't like boba. Tip: Google maps doesn't tell you exactly where it is and don't be like me driving around the H-mart lot looking for it. First of all, the name of this small restaurant really caught my eye and I knew I wanted to stop in sometime. I also really liked the art that was pictured. The two things I did like were their easy online ordering system and the quick in and out when I was getting my food/drink. The reason I am giving two stars is because of the food and drink I ordered. Although the food was hot and the drink was cold when I picked it up, the taste of everything was bland and the quality was not up to par. The fries were tasteless and a little soggy. The popcorn chicken was also pretty bland and not to mention, tough and hard to chew. The pot stickers were the biggest disappointment. They were super thick and chewy and were more like a dumpling than a pot sticker. Also, there wasn't much filling, they were mostly dough and the taste of the whole thing was just bad. My friend and I made our way around the block, from H Mart, New Canton BBQ, Mr. Bakery, and finally Volcano Tea House. Our hands were full with goodies, but it was incomplete without boba. The inside of Volcano seemed a little dreary and dirty. I was annoyed at a random guy standing in the middle of the shop on his phone. He didn't respond when I asked him if he was in line, and the least the barista could have done was offer to take our order. Just awkward silence all around. alwefjlajwefkl. Anyways, I got taro milk tea and a side of popcorn chicken. My friend got food as well. We were the only ones in the shop, but the food took 20 minutes to prepare. That's insane. They apologized for the wait, but we probably would have gotten drinks only if we knew. I should have chosen "hot" for the popcorn chicken spice level, but regardless, I was disappointed at how tough and chewy it was. Hurt my jaw. Through the course of writing this Yelp review, my star count decreased from 3.5 to 3 to 2. Besides its popular fruit slush, it may not be apparent from its name this is also a sought after spot for traditional Chinese noodle soups. It may not be difficult to find places for fried noodles (which you can also find in Volcano), but not many places have quality noodle soups with such a wide variety and authenticity. It is even rarer to find a place that handmade all its noodles, buns and dumplings from scratch. Heard the owner/chef's family has been in the noodle making business for generations and the chef has mastered the guarded family recipe. Probably it is the reason why the noodles here have the texture of yesteryears and are quite chewy, on par with the recently closed Blue Ocean (what a loss). The pork ribs, pork chops, beef brisket and beef shank are also prepared the traditional way, more approximate the Taiwanese style, which is another rare find in town. We stopped here on a recommendation that it is authentic boba tea. I would say overall the experience was good. My classic milk tea was okay tasting. Kind of watered down and not very cold. They were having some issues with the freezer producing ice. I didnt finish my drink. Matcha green milk tea was not good either. My cousin had the Hokkaido milk tea- very interesting flavor and delicious. This was the only drink I liked and would get it if I'm here next time. The boba pearls were okay to my tasting. I am happy that there is a boba place nearby me. My go to is the Hokkaido Tea with tiny boba. I love the tiny boba. It's so tiny and slurps through the straws. I always dislike when I have more boba left over than I have tea (which somehow always happens with the regular size). On this day, we decided to try the grass jelly bowl. You can choose your own toppings like the drinks. We added taro, red bean, and aloe into ours. It's like tong sui or sugar water dessert or a dessert refresher with health benefits according to my aunties and mom. It reminds me of the one I had in California like Phoenix. The grass jelly was the right amount of sweetness without it being overbearing. We were lucky to have come in around 20 minutes after opening with no line. I know that Denver is starved for boba places, but it doesn't mean that every single boba place is amazing. I lived in LA for 15 years, where boba places are on every corner in Gardena and parts of Orange County, and with that lens, Volcano ranks as an OK boba place. It's more expensive than the boba place inside H-Mart next door, but they also have a nice variety of boba-like things that you can add to your drink. From boba to mini boba to grass jelly-like things, there's a lot of fun that you can add to your drinks. In terms of drink variety, there's not a ton here, especially when you compare it to a place like Honeyboba in LA (my personal favorite boba chain). You'll find some classics here, but you'll also wonder where some of your favorites like Thai iced tea went. What boba place doesn't have a Thai iced tea flavor? Oh yeah, this place. That being said, I had a matcha milk tea boba with mini boba, and it was good. My wife had an almond milk tea boba, which was also pretty good. Was it the best boba we've ever had? Not even close to anything you'd have in LA or NY, and there are some little things that the staff here could do better, like actually shaking your boba so it isn't warm when you get it. I know we can do it ourselves, but that's one of those things that takes two seconds and makes a big difference. Volcano is so cute, just the type of interior that makes you want to stay and take pictures! Super cutesy and bubbly inside. Like I said, I can't decide if I like the drinks or not. I had a matcha milk tea and I was so unhappy about it. My brother brought it home for me so I couldn't see what kind of options I had to correct this drink. Even with the yelp discount when you check in, 10% isn't much, because they do add a fee when other boba teas don't charge a fee. It's like a hidden fee they didn't discreet. Fried fish balls, fried squid balls, fried chicken, French fries, onion rings, and other tasty fried foods I cannot recall. We tried their (mild) spicy fried chicken and I instantly knew I would be back for more. I can't describe the taste but it was a perfect blend of salt and spice. Just thinking about it makes me wish I ordered more. Drinks? My cousin and I ordered: house milk tea with herbal jelly and boba, Hokkaido milk tea with egg pudding and boba, taro milk tea, and oolong milk tea. My cousin found the house milk tea a bit bland. Boba? We both thought it could be cooked longer as well as sweetened too. The taro milk tea and oolong were for my husband and sister who says they were each lacking flavor. The Hokkaido milk tea was as expected, which is a smooth, milky caramel flavor. Cost? It's pretty steep for drinks especially when ordering a large size with multiple toppings, which is easily around $5-$6. Fried snacks range from $1.50 to $6. Milk tea, ice blended drinks, juice drinks , teas, snacks, coffee for those coffee lovers also special drinks such as Winter Melon, Misutgaru Latte. We decide to have our beverages at Volcano Tea House. With most of the fixtures, or dining room tables and chairs from IKEA - this establishment is indeed cute and inviting. Great little hidden gem here! The star of the show in my view are their fantastic noodle soups. The broth is so delicate and clean, yet at the same time flavor packed. I got the hand pulled noodle soup with pork chop - REALLY great. The noodles were so... just really great. The texture and flavor were surprisingly complex and interesting. Noodles are not just noodles. Not here at least. Son got the pork rib with hand pulled noodles and wife got the beef brisket with hand pulled noodles. Everybody was extra happy! The family running the place is quite friendly and obviously hard working. They work their craft and it deserves to be recognized. Not omitting the drinks here. I got the Hokkaido milk tea with herb jelly. Really complex and earthy tea that I really enjoyed. Definitely will choose that again, though, may drop from 50% to 30% sugar. Wife really enjoyed her pina colada slush with coconut jelly. Ended up here unexpectedly for a mid-week birthday dinner and it was a super present. It takes me a few visits before I can truly give a solid rating but for now, my first experience will be a 4 star. The interior seemed very clean and "cute" and lots of seating if you were to ever bring a large group. I think they also had things to buy (water bottles etc). Service was friendly and helpful. He gave me suggestions and communicated thoroughly to help me understand which was which! I got the rose green tea with rainbow jelly and boba. Maybe it was a little too sweet for me and I should have asked for less sugar like I usually do everywhere else! It just didn't wow me but it wasn't bad to say the least.
